i know its a little early but who will have the best baseball team this year?

PV should have a pretty good team this year.

Burton SHOULD be pretty good too

i heard burton has four guys throwin in the low 90's...2 are left handed and one is a switch pitcher...you dont know which hand it's comin from

You are wrong, I heard 100+ for two of them and upper 90's for the other two. One of the girls is in the mid 80's on the softball team and has already said she will play for VT. I guess the four bb pitchers will turn pro.

By the way, How is Clark doing in baseball this spring or has Tech played any games? I know that some teams have played a few.

haha I dunno know about their all-star pitching crew.. but they have some pretty good position players

I seriously doubt that she throws that fast, and if she did she would be playing for someone better than VT.The best college pitchers throw mid to high 60's.

that was a smart remark.. cuz last year there were some Burton fans or players that got on here around baseball season and were saying that they had a pitcher that could throw in the low 90's.. Needless to say Burton didn't do too well in baseball

That was a follow-up to vthoike22 remarks. I know that those numbers aren't right. UT has a top notch pitcher in softball and only throws in the mid 60's. You want find but a very few HS pitchers throwing in the mid 90's. I saw Billy Wagner pitch in HS and I am not sure he did.

Billy Wagner threw maybe 80 in highschool. Uva Wise passed him up, and he went to Ferrum, worked on his mechanics and gained like 15-18 mph which literally never happens. THat is like gaining a foot and a ahalf on your verticle leap or knocking off half a second in your forty time.

im pretty sure VT starts baseball a week from saturday as far as games go, i think he's gonna start, but if not then he's right there...they had a 7 game series playing each other during the fall semester and he did really well

Sounds good to me. I thought he was one of the more talented players to come out of this area in the last few years.

True, but that is the case with most kids out of high school going into college baseball.

Cody Bentley should be pitching for wise. He is one of the best if not the best at wise IMO.

Is the guy who everyone hates who used to coach for Kelly baseball still the coach at Burton?

And I could be wrong, but I thought I saw a post on here about him being offered a coaching position somewhere else that he was ready to take.

i dont hate him, i dont think most ppl do unless you let highschool sports control your life after you graduate. i dont agree with alot of the stuff he did, but he also did alot for kelly baseball when he was there.

I never really followed baseball but last I checked up on burton baseball (about 2 years ago), it seemed he wasn't able to use the talent he had and had a hard time getting the baseball players at burton to play for him the way he wanted them too.
Especially since most of Burton's good atheletes letter in around 3 sports.
