On a ninety mintue delay tomrrow. snow advisory in afftect from 10 tongiht until 10 tomrrow morning.

Thanks for the update, didn't even know about the delay...looks like I'll get in some (much needed) extra sleep!

I doubt we'll have school tomorrow.. I know it's too early to even say that since the snow has yet to actually begin coming down, but if we have a snow advisory OVER NIGHT, then there's a good chance that by tomorrow we'll have a pretty good amount. I dont see how they are having school tomorrow. I just came off thackers branch and the roads up there where still slick. alot of ice and snow in parts.

It was pretty slick in some parts of Appalachia too.. not really bad just yet, but if we get as much snowfall as they're calling for (1-3 inches) it could definitely get ugly before tomorrow morning.

The advisory starts at 10 P.M., so that's only about an hour away as of now.. should be hitting here pretty soon according to what they're saying.

Yeah, it's heading up that way...ground is getting white already and it just started I believe...can't tell if it's sticking to the road just yet, but I heard on the scanner that the roads in the western part of the county were getting bad.

It's starting to snow now in BSG.

Snow on Thacker's Branch does't sound good for me as I drive that big ole school bus there. If there is ice and snow there, then I would suspect that other parts are much worse.

Is dickenson county on a delay too or what?

It is snowing pretty good over here in Kingsport. Not on the roads yet though.

Mercury just called me she left my house around 10 for JC and said they 4 lanes from Pound to Wise are horrible, that she hasnt been able to go over 30. They called my dad to work around 8:30 or 9.

Mom lives in Coeburn

I stay with my dad on the weekends and mom throughout the week.

What happened was I was still in Appy today and proceeded to go to Coeburn (where I'm at now, of course) so that's how I knew there were still some icy places in Appy even when I left earlier today. I'm sure that, by now, the roads there are getting really bad... probably covered just like everywhere else.

Wise County Schools closed.

I honestly doubt that i can make it to work today. my holler is horrible here in appy. i work up at mullican on old Norton Road, this is ridiculous.

Another quick moving disturbance provided the Tri-Cities region with a blanket of snowfall late Sunday night and early Monday morning. The disturbance was much like Saturday's, however, much of the heavy snowfall totals this time around fell right along the Tennessee and Virginia state line.

Here are some of the snowfall amounts reported across the region:
