Re: Reminder to myself
I'm sure the majority/all of this is on The NFL Network. Right?

Re: Reminder to myself
No offense, but how in the hell do you people watch all of that shite?
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Its a 1 time a year thing and its kinda fun to watch these guys do drills and see how fast they really are. Im excited to see Ngata, I bet he does 225 45 times.

I would say he will get quite a few up there.
Did you see how many times Larry Allen benched 225 at the Pro Bowl? Talk about dang!
-
Re: Reminder to myself
I didnt see it, but I have seen him win those contests at the pro bowl before. I think ive heard that he can bench 800+ pounds, not sure if thats truth or myth though.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
If I am not mistaken he stopped on 43, and looked like he could have gotten 50 or more. Just ridiculous.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
MY GOD, the dude announcing(not rich eisen) has a lisp. Its KILLING me.
Well I think its safe to say D'Brick is gonna be a monster, hes just so agile and strong. They showed him destroying Tapp at the senior bowl, it was awesome.

Re: Reminder to myself
Joesph Addai ran a 4.37
Brian Calhoun ran a 4.65 (BAD)
Jay Cutler did 23 reps of 225
and LenDale White is fat, and not with a ph.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
There goes Calhoun.
4.6 is horrendous.
What did Brodie do?
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Wow kind of wish I had this today, bored
-
Re: Reminder to myself
I dont think he lifted man. Most qb's didnt. Quarterbacks work out tomorrow(sunday) at 11am. He should run his 40 and do all of the throwing drills then.
Haloti Ngata got 37 reps of 225. Thats the best so far. I threw out a # earlier on this page and he came pretty close to it.
Vernon Davis looks to be a real freak too.
Orien Harris had the largest hands, he must JO alot.

Re: Reminder to myself
LMAO Vince Young got a 6 on the wonderlic. Frank Gore had a learning disability and got the same score. Young is borderline retarded based upon that score. I dont know how much weight you can put on a test like that but I just have a feeling that Young is going to really struggle to pick up an offense thats alot more complex than what he ran at Texas.

Re: Reminder to myself
College to Pros is a big jump, that is what makes this stage of the game so important. Scouting is more than most think. The Dallas teams of the 90s had some guys drafted later that could play , saves cap money and this is what makes/breaks a lot of folk's teams, or so it seems to me .
-
Re: Reminder to myself
yep titles are won on draft day in alot of cases.
Chad Jackson just ran a 4.37, could have just passed holmes and moss as the 1st receiver taken.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Sinorice Moss just ran a 4.34 and his burst in the first 5 years was just an explosion, unreal
Marcus Vick ran a 4.49 a minute ago, not as fast as everyone thought.....

I thought he was like 4.2?

Re: Reminder to myself
and this is a fast track too, chad jacksons second 40 was a 4.29. If this doesnt prove that VTs times are off a good 2 tenths of a second then our little blue buddy should become the Iraqi information minister.

Re: Reminder to myself
Marcus Vick is actually faster than I thought he was. From watching him on the field he didnt look that fast I was thinking maybe a 4.6.
Honestly though, Michael Vick may have been running in the 4.3's at the combine when he ran, but I bet now hes just running in the 4.4's. He looks like hes slowed down a bit the last year or so in the NFL.
40 times are still slightly overrated, but its a good measuring stick. The 10 yard drill that shows burst is far more important for WR's and RB's IMO.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
oh yeah, did you see Sinorice's first 5 yards, holly hell, sign him up.

Re: Reminder to myself
Kevin Simon's (UT linebacker) dad posts on another board I look at. Here's what he had to say about the UT lb's at the combine.
"Our Linebackers are looking good at the Combines Reply
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost all of the linemen at the combine have been doing between 20 and 30 reps with 225 pounds in the bench press. Kevin and Omar Gaither put up linemen-like numbers in the bench-press which should get a few more people's attention.
Kevin did 26 reps which was 2nd among what looks to be about 30 LB'ers and Gaither did 23 which is amazing to me since both only go about 230 pounds soaking wet. Several players have reported doing over 30 reps before but at the combines they don't allow you to "fudge" or "short-arm" on your lifts like some places do.
Lifts have to be technically sound. EJ Hawk did 25 and DeMeco Ryans of Alabama did 23 reps. So far, the interviews are going well and only one team has expressed serious reservations about Kevin's medical report.
He doesn't feel like he is where he wants to be speed-wise, so he will wait and run at our Pro Day on March 15th, giving himself 2 more weeks to prepare. Kevin's medical exams are completed with an "all's clear" from none other than, Dr. Dillingham himself, the head of the NFL medical staff that has to sign-off on all of these guys.
MRI's are next and unless something unexpected shows up his injury history will still hurt him but it may not drop him quite as far down in the draft as some people have thought."

Re: Reminder to myself
lmao
"Marcus Vick who reportedly was clocked at VT running 4.29 in the 40. and then at the combine:
Marcus Vick Virginia Tech QB 4.60 and 4.55"

Re: Reminder to myself
Well I wonder how much running (outside of the cops), Marcus has been doing

Re: Reminder to myself
Vernon Davis just ran a 4.38 40 as a Tight End. He may be the 1st TE ever to break 4.4. AMAZING.
I bet he played professional ball before playing TE at Twin Springs.

Re: Reminder to myself
Davis is a BEAST. There's talk he may go 6th to the 49ers if they don't draft AJ Hawk instead. Unless someone makes a move or a deal with the 49ers to get drafted that high, or Hawk/Davis are difficult to sign, then it's between those two for the San Fran pick.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Hey just wondering how Jimmy Williams looked? Also do they say which teams are looking at certian players or which players would fit on certian teams? Basically wha I am hearing is that Dallas is looking at Croyle (sp) possible a 2nd rd pick for them.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
They havent really focused on players going to certain teams. They have in fact said who each team has had interest in and who each team has interviewed.
I know the bears interviewed Sin Moss, Chad Jackson, and Marcedes Lewis.
As for Jimmy Williams, the db's dont work out until tomorrow but ill post his info when he works out.
Crazie, I think Davis is just such a freak that it would be silly to draft Hawk at that point. Hawk is a good player but there are going to be some great linebackers in round 2. Tatupu and Odell Thurman were both round 2 picks last year. I just dont think that Hawk has Urlacher type ability to be picked that high. He has the instincts and the love for football much like Katzenmoyer, but that doesnt make him a superstar. Davis is the type I think could be a superstar.
Any chance they are able to sign Ferguson at #6?
-
Re: Reminder to myself
I think Ferguson is gone before the #6 pick...probably #4 to the Jets.
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Thats true and hes from long island so that basically makes him a hometown kid.
Davis just broad jumped 11'8, nobody else had got more than 9 feet. Pope end up at 9 feet. Pope is sort of a freak too because hes 6'8 but he just looks awkward out there. Do you think he will be in the mold of McMichael, Wiggins, and Watson?
-
Re: Reminder to myself
Another thing Craz, I WOULD NOT want to be caught in a back alley with Broderick Bunkley. If not a football player, the kid is going to make #1 overall money is a bouncer one day.
