I think the game is on 93.5
Yep.
how does a team win 21 games in one year and lose the first round of the region tourney? try adding a little power to your schedule next year coach!
That is what I was saying.
If anyone is listening to the games, could they please keep me posted on the scores. Especially the RC/JJK game coming up. We have horrible reception in this building, but will go to the vehicle and check occasionally if I have to.
TV up 47 - 40 almost over. 12 secs.
47-40 final
One side of Semis set GC and TV. 25 minutes away from tipoff of next game.
About what I expected. I thought SP might get by in this one, but not any further.
Thanks for the updates so far GC1.
End of one. Kelly leads 12 to 9
21 - 19 the Cove with 3:20 in the first. RC playing tough.
That is good to hear. If they play 4 quarters they will be ok, but the second half tends to be a demon to them.

St. Paul was overrated..
halftime Kelly leads 26 to 25
Half 26- 25 Kelly. Good game, back and forth battle.
Sorry Primos, I'll let you take over. It's close to my bed time.
Oh no you can have it all.
so it is on the radio??
yea 93.5 i think
Yes, the game is on 93.5. Kelly is up 33-29 with aprox 2:00 to go in the 3rd quarter.
This is a dandy of a game!
thanks! i found it!
Whats the score?
57 to 52 Kelly Final.
Kelly won 57-52. They pulled away in the 4th quarter. Next for them is Haysi. GC will play Twin Valley. Maybe a all-LPD final.
Sure sounded like a dandy of a game!
I rarely disagree with your comments, BK, because you seem to have a pretty good understanding of the game. But, this is one instance where I have to.
In no way, do I think St. Paul was overrated. They had a 21-4 season which is nothing to shrug at by any standards. Some will say they they didn't have a tough schedule. Their loss tonight didn't have anything to do with their schedule.
St. Paul didn't have the fire to win tonight. Even when they played TV within 4 pts., they played with the same lack of intensity they played all night.
The Lady Panthers wanted this win more, and they deserved it.

I just got back from the tourney. Guys, St.Paul is young and has alot to learn. They lob the ball slowly and do not know what a bounce pass is. They will learn. The Injuns had the flu bug bite them I was told, but I gotta take my hat off to the ladies from RC. The Lady Eagles didn't come just to be there-they came to win. We were outrebounded, outhustled, and fortunate to win. We really need to work on inbounding the [censored] ball. The 10-4 foul call disadvantage from our fine officials here in SWVA didn't help. I now see what everybody is talking about. A win is a win, and we'll take it, but if we don't elevate our game (have been guilty of lackluster play all year-youth I guess), Haysi will send us home.
BTW Vtgal: What's up with the soupbean thing that those gals were doing? Unusual.
Credit to Twin Valley. They played better tonight than I've seen them play this season.

TV looked great the 1st quarter, scoring 23, but after that just had 24 over 3 qtrs. They look like they do have the athletes to be dangerous.
I am glad to hear the Lady Eagles played hard, and gave a good showing. They lose Petelle, and Chapman, but have some good young talent on the team, and some real good talent coming up. The future should be bright.
Good luck to your Lady Indians Indian Dad against Haysi. Too bad I had to work tonight. I would have liked to run into ya again.

I seriously doubt that Kelly beats Haysi. Too much youth and inexperience to tame the Tigers. Its been a good run, but the Indians will be sent back to the reservation in Wise on a Trail of Tears of their own.....
From what I have been told Haysi is as slow as molasses. If we don't pull the upset, not too many tears will be shed. Tears are for seniors who played their last game-not youngins who'll be back with a vengence next year It's all good.
Slowness is a weakness Haysi has but after watching Kelly play I'd say the number of weaknesses they have outweight ours by a lot.

Actually, it's "Soup Cans". It's kind of a long story, and one basically within the team...but it's just a bit of inspiration they've had since about mid-season or so. Kind of a "theme" to play on and remember throughout the game.
I heard some young guys behind our bench say, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. What idiots." every time "Soup Cans" was said.
I guess it is idiotic to an outsider, but not at all within our team.
I wish we could have gotten the win. Our girls played hard. Our seniors are really going to be missed. They are a great group of girls. We've got a good foundation coming back though and some tremendous young talent that will be stepping up.
Magna Vista 66 Lee High 24
Lebanon 47 Parry McCluer 38
George Wythe 86 Bland County 34
Magna Vista must be very good.Lee had a good team this year & that score isnt even close. Is George Wythe as good the score indicates or was Bland just over-matched?

George Wythe is extremely talented. They are quick and have a good inside/outside game. It also helps that their center is 6'4 and can dunk the basketball. They have a good chance of going all the way this year.
Sounds like they have an excellent team. Who did they lose to this year?
Magna Vista is 17-3, and from what I understand, and from scores I've seen, they pretty much rolled through their district with ease...the second place team in the Piedmont was Bassett. Magna Vista beat them some 70 something to 30 something the first meeting, and it was a little closer the second game. When they combined with Luarel Park a couple years ago, the year before that, MV and LP finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the district...sooo..yep. lol. It didn't help matters any having to travel over there again either...
Good luck Grundy
Seriously though, good luck, hope you all beat them..at least you're not going over there.
I did hear that Magna Vista will lose a lot next year though(I think, may have heard wrong)....guess that's good news haha.
