haha heck yeah man...the scoreboard on the internet went down so I had to call a buddy that went to the game to find out if we won. I'm really surprised that we beat TWC for a second time this year cause they were in the top 2 or 3 all year long.
Yea, really suprised me also. If we win one more game do we go to the next tournament? I'm dumb as far as NAIA playoffs are concerned, if the game wasn't at two tomorrow I'd go watch them play.
I believe as long as we make it the championship game we are guarenteed to make the national tourney. I could be wrong, but I believe it is just like HS in district play. Make it to the championship and you go to regions. I'm pretty positive that is the way the NAIA works also.
This is great..
A couple of the players go to my church..
Good Luck the rest of the tourny
I think you are correct in that assessment.
We will have to win out to go on to the next turny. they just changed the rule that states that number one regural season champ gets to go and who ever wins the turny. if we only get 2nd in the turny TWC goes
playing Union College today...started at 2:00
with 12:00 left in 2nd half, we down by 9, 51-42
Parker has 19 as of now...possibly his last game
67-52 Union with 5:44 to go
Parker has 23 pts and Jarred has 13. Z has played like crap this game. He is 1-8 from the field and 5-10 at the free throw line. Looks like our chance to the national tourney is gonna fall short.
Game over...final score was 91-78 Union.
Some stats from the game:
Parker Gemmell: 8-18 FG, 14-17 FT, 32 pts.
Jarred Soles: 7-18 FG, 5-5 FT, 24 pts.
Zydrunas Rackauskas: 2-9 FG, 5-10 FT, 9 pts., 10 reb.
These were are top 3 players. Parker had a good career and was a great leader on and off the floor. Z got AAC Freshman of the Year and depending on the recuiting class for next, they'll probably be in the middle of the pack for next year's preseason polls. That would be a lot better than being picked for last place. Good season guys!
i didnt know Parker was a senior already
Does anyone know how UVAWise girls did today? I think they were supposed to play at 4.
They won 58-57, play King tomorrow for the title.
wow..58-57..know any stats on the game?
Here you go.

Boxscore
Bristol, TN ? Sarah Helton blocked Milligan's Leah Seevers' shot in the final second of the women's basketball Appalachian Athletic Conference match to take The University of Virginia's College at Wise to the tournament title game. The Lady Cavs edged the Lady Buffs 58-57 for the win.
Third-seeded UVa-Wise will make its first appearance in the AAC championship game. The Lady Cavs (23-9) will face host and fifth-seeded King College (18-14) upset top seed and regular season champion Bryan College by a 75-62 score to claim the other title spot.
After Sarah Helton misfired on a three-pointer with 11 seconds, the Lady Buffs pulled in the rebound and called a timeout with 2.4 seconds left. Milligan (20-11) inbounded the ball and Seevers grabbed the ball just inside the foul line and shot the ball only to have Helton cleanly block the shot and claim the ball as time ran out to seal the 58-57 UVa-Wise win.
Sarah Helton led the Lady Cavs with 19 points on seven of 15 shooting and eight rebounds. She added three blocks and three steals. Rachel Helton dropped four of seven three-pointers and made six of 12 attempts for 16 points. Chelsea Lee added 13 points, seven caroms and four assists. LaShay Collier handed out eight assists to go with eight tallies.
The largest lead of the opening half was enjoyed by Milligan of six points, 26-20, was the halftime score. A Lee layup gave UVa-Wise a 17-12 advantage with 5:44 in the half only to see Milligan the next 10 points to gain the momentum.
The Lady Buffs held onto the lead for the first 12 minutes of the latter half. UVa-Wise regained the lead with 7:49 on a pass from Collier to Lee for a triple to edge ahead, 44-42. The two teams played evenly and were tied, 54-54, with 2:06 on the clock.
Lee made one of two foul shots for the Lady Cavs only to see Seevers hit a jumper for a Milligan, 56-55 lead at 1:19. The biggest shot of the game came on the next trip for Uva-Wise when Collier found Rachel Helton on the right wing for her fourth three-pointer to make it 58-56 with 1:01.
Milligan had two shots and then Rikki Baughman was fouled with 41.1 seconds. She missed the first free throw and made the second for a 58-57 score to set up the final missed Lady Cav shot and failed Lady Buffs last second attempt.
