Sheldon Williams is terrible, Hansborough owns him. I hate both schools with a religious passion. But Williams is dirty and not very good.
Hansbrough is just a freshman and he is 2 times better than She-Will.
Hes no Channing Frye.
To be the "best college player ever" like the majority of all you claim Reddick is....he's not looking that great tonight.
Ok everyone..lets here those excuses now to why he isnt playing that good.
Sounds like Vitale is about to cry because the Dookies are losing on senior nite.
I don't think u can say that Sheldon Williams is terrible he has got 16 points and pulled down 15 boards.
This absolutely awesome with a capital A.
Look at Roy Williams rock that kick [censored] Carolina blue suit!
Its a [censored] shame that these Duke seniors will leave Duke without a national title.
My God, Carolina pulls it off!!!
Ok Duke fans.....lets here those excuses you all always come up with. Im waiting.
Wow, Id loved if they both could have lossed, but Ill take a Duke loss, especially on senior night any day. Morrison is way better than JJ and Williams, is dirty, he may have had a double double, but like the last dunk he had, he pushed off like crazy.
With that win. the heels r number 2 seed in the acc tourny. opposite side of duke. and quit possibly number 2 seed int he ncaa tourny
Tonight UNC just plain and simple outplayed Duke. At first, I thought we were gonna see the normal JJ but after about 5 min or so he became the same JJ as the last 3 or 4 games. UNC just wanted it more and played harder. If Duke plans on gettin another national title, they better start playin with some intensity like they used to.
But congrats to UNC and its too bad they wont make it through two rounds of the NCAA tournament.
Better be worried about JJ being wore out, Coach K played the dude 40 minutes a game all year, it's biting him now. I just hope when I go to the ACC Tournament next week I dont see a Duke/UNC final. If so, I might sell my ticket and come back home early.
If you sell it cheap...ill buy it.
I don't think you're actually serious about UNC only makin' it through or to the 2nd round... they've been on fire lately and from the looks of it they continue to get better with each game. It's no longer an exaggeration to talk about UNC being a threat in the NCAA Tourney this year.
UNC = upset in one of the first two rounds of the tourney
you dont go deep into the tourney when youre that young...unless you have a kid named Carmelo (note to Tar Hole fans, Hansbrough can't hold the jockstrap of the guy who holds Carmelo's jockstrap...so don't try to compare)
if UNC get anything lower than a 3 seed, they're going out
To be honest with you, so what if they go out. After loosing their top 7 scorers from last year and coming into the season inexperienced and young this is the best they could have dreamed of. they could start 3 freshmen if they wanted that. frasor, ginyard, terry, noel, hansborough. these guys are athletic. i believe they have what it take to go to the sweet sixteen. only thing stopping them is inexperience. before the season started everyone was saying unc will finish bottom half of the acc. wouldnt make the ncaa tourny. well they proved everyone wrong. i didnt believe they were going to do this well. next year we are getting some great recruits so watch out for us next year too. the next 4 year in chapel hill will be a good one i do believe
not sayin they wont be good in the future...only a projection on this year's tournament
the duke's, unc's and uconn's will always have good young talent and good recruiting classes...this doesnt mean they wont suffer a mass exodus to the NBA and be green in some years...which just so happens to be this year
They've been too young all year according to everyone... but they are 21-6 and 12-4 in the ACC and went in Duke and beat Duke last night who was one of the top ranked team until the new poll comes out. We'll see in a few more weeks how them Baby Heels fair. I hope they continue to prove doubters wrong.
No excuses here, the Dukies just stunk it up terribly and didn't play team ball. It seems they are to centered around JJ and the rest of the team don't want to step up and produce when he is getting doubled they just want to watch him do his thing since he is a senior.
Coach K coaches a good outside game, if it ain't on he is in trouble. Till he moves to run an inside game also, they will have that weak spot, most of the time he gets the shooters to cover it. NC has better luck making them miss than most.

I don't know if I would totally say that. Carmelo and Hansborough are totally different type of players. Hansborough is definitely one of the top post players to play in the NCAAs in a few years IMO. That is a huge seperating factor. You just do not find very good post players anymore. That is part of what makes him look so good. That is also something that will be hard for people to stop if UNC's guard play limits their turnovers.
Does anyone think this rivalry will switch over to UNC now? After Duke had won 16 of the last 19?
OMG that is GREAT!!!!!!!
UNC is gonna run into a mid-major who will zone them up and keep an eye on their 3pt shooter and have to battle all game, if theyre off it could get ugly
UNC is just not a team ill be watchin for in the tourney
Oh I agree. I don't think they will make it to the final four, but Hansborough is very good. It just depends on if he gets help from Thomas and the rest.
he will be one of the premier players in the nation in the coming years...right now i just think it'd be too easy to gameplan for him/UNC
now as for next year and the year after if they stay...with him and wright on the blocks...look out
That is definitely going to be a tough twosome to defend, and score against on the blocks.
i think Duke and UNC switch places next year

I'll agree w/that--because even though they've got 3 really good freshmen coming in to go with what they've got coming back, they'll miss JJ & Williams.
Let's take a look...shall we?
Returning:
SG/SF Demarcus Nelson
SF/PF David McClure
C Eric Boateng
SF/PF Jamal Boykin
PG Greg Paulus
SG Martynas Pocius
PF/C Josh McRoberts
Incoming Freshmen:
PG/SG Jon Scheyer (4-star out of Illinois, averaging 35pts a game)
SG/SF Gerald Henderson (5 star out of Pennsylvania, averaging 18pts a game)
C Brian Zoubek (4-star out of NJ--7'1, averaging 21pts a game)
It's also possible that we get Lance Thomas (6'9, 200...averaging 17 a game). He's down to a final two, Duke & Rutgers. He's a NJ boy, so that's not as big of a no-brainer as it seems. If Duke gets him to go with the remainder of this class, and all of the returning guys work hard and get better, then Duke may not be #1, but I think they'll be top 10 for sure. Don't cry for them too bad. Note also that if Duke does win the title this season that McRoberts will probably look to turn pro. If they don't, then he would probably stay at Duke for 3 years. He's already given a 99.9% chance that he's coming back next year anyways...and I think that .01% is if they win the title.
The keys for next year are improvement, becoming more mature, and learning to play better team defense. If they can do that, then the talent's there. Starting lineup for next year (my projection):
PG Paulus
SG Pocius
SF Demarcus
PF McRoberts
C Boateng
First off the bench will be McClure, Boykin, & Henderson (Lance Thomas gets some burn too if he comes to play @Duke). Scheyer & Zoubek will probably be given more time to grow into the system. There is the possibility that if Boateng doesn't get much better, that they'll start McClure at the 4 and push McRoberts to the 5. I also wouldn't be suprised to see Boykin turn into the type of role player that Battier was for Duke while he was here...the coaching staff loves his style of play. There's another possibility that Scheyer or Henderson may come in and unseat Pocius from the 2-guard slot in the starting lineup, but Pocius will play.
I definetly see Henderson or Scheyer startin in front of Pocius.
One big thing that Duke has to do is mature as a team becuase i thought that Paulus and McRoberts would have matured more than what they have by now. I know they are freshmen but when they arent averaging more than 10 or 12 ppg together when they both start and play almost the whole game, they need to step up. I am glad to see Nelson and Melchionni stepping up especially when JJ isnt on, but nothing can really replace the absent of JJ's points.
