Kelly 6-0 over Patrick Henry in 4 innings, 5-4 over Castlewood in 6 (Wyrick threw everybody a bit vs Castlewood, so that was hard to tell). I think we'll be competitive with anybody. Any other results?

How many did Castlewood return from last year?
i think they returned about everybody. one of the indian players said castlewood was missing a couple because of wrestling or basketball. indians looked pretty good vs. patrick henry though. PH wasn't very good. both kelly and castlewood threw alot of pitchers and played everybody. i see these young indians making a return trip to castlewood for the region tourney. it's going to be a toss up with gate city, coeburn, burton, & kelly. did anybody else scrimmage this weekend?
The region tournament is at UVa-Wise.
Who would have ever thought that a Region D Baseball tournament would have ever been played at the college? What a great job that was done rennovating that place. This was affectionately (not) tabbed "the poor farm" by opposing teams over the years. Maybe someday they (as well as the football team) will get a capable coach who will put that talent to work.
that would be great to have it at the college. i was told that it was the cumberland district's turn to have the tourney and it would be played at castlewood. i say let's play it at the college.
I'm glad that the tournament is here, in regards to our coach no, he's not the best but were already passing expectations from the preseason. Our sweep of King yesterday has us tied for first in the AAC.
With Bates and co on that squad, they should be tied for first. There is always talent on the Cav roster, and plenty of it, yet they can't get over the hump.
Pitching might hurt us, outside of Bates we dont have a really dominate pitcher. Clay pitched very well yesterday, I hope it continues. They played two today in Ohio, for what reason, I have no clue? Games like that are dumb imo, you have nothing to gain, and after playing two yesterday your putting a strain on your pitching staff. On top of that, they left this morning at 6 am to play two games in Ohio, and are coming back tonight. Real smart, if your going to schedule this way you should at least have the funding as to not have your team wore out before they play. Oh yea, they'll be back around midnight and we have mid-terms this week.
How many conference games have they played so far? The kind of games in ohio are used to 'develop' pitchers and other position players in my opinion.
I can understand playing those games but the day after you played a Double Header against a conference foe? They are 2-0 in the AAC. Plus with the academic situation and the traveling situation, I just think it was a bad time to do that, if you wait til Spring Break or when we come back, the academic load will be much less.
I'm not taking up for anyone,, just can imagine that scheduling of games must be a nightmare,, especially for small colleges.
Anyone know how former UVA/Wise assistant coach Mike White is doing in Bluefield?
Bluefield is 1-1 in the conference and 3-10 overall.
