Marcus Vick pays $500 for the brandishing charges

In Suffolk, Vick originally was charged with three counts of brandishing
a firearm, but prosecutor Phil Ferguson said "seriously conflicting
evidence" led to the plea deal.

Vick was sentenced to six months in jail and a $500 fine. His jail time
was suspended on condition of good behavior for one year.

"In light of all the facts in this case, this was a fair resolution," Ferguson
said. "We believe there would have been seriously conflicting evidence."

Smith, Passley suspended from basketball team

Tennessee redshirt sophomore Anthony Passley and walk-on sophomore Jordan Smith have been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team after their arrests on drug charges Sunday morning.

Both players were charged with possession of a Schedule 2 drug for resale after 15.2 grams of crack cocaine were found in the driver's side compartment door of Smith's Crown Victoria at about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

Smith, 23, is a former West High School player, according to UT's Web site.

Passley, a 20-year-old who transferred from Wisconsin-Milwaukee, also was charged with possession of a Schedule 6 drug after police found less than three grams of marijuana on him.

Both players were booked into the Knox County Detention Center and were released Sunday afternoon. Smith was released on a $10,000 bond, Passley on $10,500.

The arrests were made after police noticed several vehicles parked on the street and sidewalks of Keith Street near a nightclub, DeBusk said. When the officers approached Smith's car, they noticed the odor of marijuana and were given permission by the players to search the car.

UT coach Bruce Pearl, whose team opens play in the SEC tournament at 1 p.m. Friday, issued a statement Sunday afternoon.

"I am very disappointed in these young men,'' Pearl said. "Our players need to take their responsibility for being a role model seriously, and if they don't act responsibly they won't be playing at Tennessee.''

Neither Passley nor Smith traveled to Nashville for the Vols' regular-season ending 68-59 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon.

Passley hasn't been eligible to play or travel this season by NCAA rule, but he was expected to be a contributor off the bench next season at forward.

Smith has appeared in four games this season for a total of four minutes, posting two rebounds while turning the ball over four times.

4.42 was the official time

Different scouts had different times, it just depends but he didnt quite run that 4.2 whatever he was supposed to run.

Hester has ran everywhere from 4.27 to 4.41.

regardless of what he ran, he will still be a very late round pick.....that is if he even gets drafted

I do believe he will be drafted for sure. Most likely in the 3rd. The pro scouts will be willing to take a chance on all that athletic ability for a low price.

he'll get drafted...that's for certain...someone will take him as a late round pick and try to turn him around...if they do, they got themselves a nice little steal

If this were one of us we would be in jail right now for sure...I'd say he will wind up out in Oakland with the Raiders.

[/ QUOTE ] He will wind up in court again, he better hope he goes somewhere that will turn a blind eye to him or he will wind up in jail.

This thing stank from the beginning and now I realize why.

Of the 3 who "saw" the firearm, one has since been arrested on a drug change and the 22 year old girl said it was at least a .22 caliber. Sounds like some "757" jealousy.
So he's now on probation for a year and out $500 for maybe brandishing a cell phone.
