Me and a bunch of people I work with are going to UNC-Chapel Hill this weekend to play in the National Intramural Basketball Championships this weekend. Just pray we have a safe trip down there and back. Thanks guys and gals!
Franklin St . is a must . Cats Cradle nearby in Carboro is a famous music venue to check out . Be safe there and in your travels.
I think right now everybody needs to keep OleTob in our prayers. He isn't just someone a few know, he's one of us.
we went up and down franklin street our first night there, but we was lost. We were looking for the gym that was holding the tourney. Very nice place though. thanx for the prayers eveyrone.
As Rocket said please keep Toby in your thoughts and prayers. We've traveled alot of miles together over the years and Tob's like a brother to me. I know he appreciates this board and everybody on it.
will do quincy hey tob if you need anything at all let me know.
Guys i just got an email from my boss. He had not been feeling well for quite some time. He had been off to have surgery on his leg. About a month ago he begin to have problems swallowing and finally got to the point he could not eat.
The diagnosis was cancer of the throat. Not sure how bad things are at this point.
Remember him in your prayers. Him and Toby lift them and all other up who are sick and afflicted.
will do lpd.
I'd like to request prayer for me and my family, we had a loved one, my aunt Betty passed on earlier this morning from complications due to multiple cancers in her stomach. It took her quick--she went in for a hysterectomy about 3 weeks ago, they found the cancer, started treatment, but it was just too much and was advancing too quickly, faster than the treatment could handle it.
I also have an uncle Bill that is suffering from breathing problems due to advanced stages of Black Lung, and he has been in and out of the hospital for the past 2 weeks with a couple of stays in the ICU. He's not getting any better, but he's not getting any worse if that can be looked at as good news.
Just keep my family in your prayers--my dad's side of the family is very tight knit, and both of these people are looked at as a matriarch and a patriarch of our family--and to have them both ill and one pass away so recently has been a strain. Thanks in advance.
Both you and you families will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Folks, please keep Sherry Sanders and her family in your prayers. I am afraid her days on earth are probably down to their last handful. She has fought a courageous battle, but most importantly she has won the war as she will join the Lord in heaven.
Her family is very strong, but will be in need of your prayers.
Guys my brother has his open heart surgery next Tuesday. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers please. Also keep Tob's name high on the list too. He's having a very difficult time, as is his family. Also the Turner family and the whole area.
Remember my aunt and her family and my mother.
Doctors told my nephew this evening, there was nothing else they could do for my aunt.
My aunt is 78 yrs old and basically her body, has begun to shut down on her.
Doctors said that she may not make it into morning, May 8th.
My aunt is in a coma state, just due to her poor health. Just remember her and her family and my mother her sister. This will be the second direct family member in two yrs.
It is taking it's toll on my mother and her brothers and sisters.
They know my aunt is about ready to pass over, but it still don't ease the hurt or the pain their feeling.
pray for them all.
Thanks.
My prayers go out to you and all your families.
This has been the best topic (great it's a permanent one too) yet.
Makes us all appreciate life better no matter how hard it gets. God bless.
She'll be in our thoughts and prayers LPD. If ya need anything just give us a yell.
You all have mine LPDFTBL.
Will remember you buddy.
you got it lpd you know i will do it.
there are no words that can ease the pain of the loss of a loved one. but i can tell you this, after i lost toby i didn't think i would have the strength to carry on without him. but i put my faith in the lord, and he has helped me more than words can say. i know toby is in a better place, where there is no pain or sorrow. i know that he is not afraid anymore, and he is at peace. just remember that it is hard to say goodbye, but it will only be for a little while. and the reunion in heaven will be glorious.
toby's girl (melissa)
Guys i don't want to believe in any false hope. Because i know it just builds false encouragement.
But my aunt has had a turn around in her situation.
She has ate for the first time today. After 5 days of no food at all.
Doctors said that if she continues, at the current rate, and her blood levels straighten out. They may release her.
Like i said. Still just waiting to see. But this is a miracle in itself.
When i first posted this i would of never thought she would make it into Monday morning. Now their talking releasing her, if she continues to improve. A proven that prayer still works.
I'll update as i can. But i know a nephew and a lot of brothers and sisters and son and daughters, that have seen a miracle.
Thanks guys and keep on praying. Prayer does work.
Just gotta believe buddy. That's great news. We'll pray for her continued progress.
that is awesome news lpd. I will still be praying for her and all you.
I ask that you guys pray for me and my wife tommorow as we move from Greenville, NC to Athens, GA. I know it's not as serious as some, but every little prayer will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Thanks guys. From what i heard today after i got back in from Roanoke. Was aunt was still doing ok. Still needs to recover some but is doing well.
All i can say it is God's will to show a few things. The doctors had told the immediate family, she would probably not make it into Monday morning May 8th.
I know prayer works myself. It has gotten me through many of a rough time.
Like i say im not the most religious. But i know within whom i put my trust.
And Burgfan i said a prayer for you and the wife when i read your post.
Everybody keep me in prayer. I had one of my regular CT scans done due to my previous cancer, and there apparently was something a bit questionable and I'm going to have to go in for another scan in June to check on it. I'm not spazzing about it, but likewise, hope it's nothing.
You're in my prayers rock...hope everything comes back ok
Prayers here too.
I will pray for you.
You got it Rock.
Will be thinking about you Rock,

Going to Vanderbilt on Tuesday. Got top-notch people down there with regards to liver. Blood work and all look really good right now, so its highly possible its nothing but I wouldn't rest/feel right till I know. Hopefully they can/will biopsy it for me and find out whats what. I'll keep you all posted.
Let us know Rock. Will be in our prayers.
Vanderbilt is one of the best. You will be in good hands, both God's and the doctors.
