PV Football History Help

Alright, I'm only 19 so somebody with a little more age help me out. By my memories, checking websites, old books, and other things I've figured up 16 LPD Titles, 13 Region D, 1 State Runner up, and 8 State Champions. I've also tried to figure out how many players from PV made first team All State. This has been a bit of a challenge and is where I need some help so if you know of someone I leave out please add them or if I have something wrong plese correct me. I only have all state players up to 94 and the rest is what I'm trying to remember myself so I know some of this will be wrong.

I can think of some more but I'm not 100% sure so I'm not listing them, people help me out. My memory is going bad.

I could be wrong but I believe Matt Stidham, Robbie Duncan and Joel Davis were all first team all-staters.

I only thought Duncan made second team but I could be wrong I thought Stidham did also but I remembered him having an injury and wasn't 100% sure. Joel Davis is another I wasn't sure about.

Stidham was first team.

Was that before or after the injury Hearl? Do you know of anyone else?

He was first team his junior year.

I thought Kelvin Davis and Shea Champman were first team all state, but I am not 100%.

I'm pretty sure Davis was.

Yea those are some more I'm not sure about, I'd like to get a full list somewhere but believe it or not this information is hard to come by.

Was Kevin Reed 1st team? I know he was in baseball, as well as a solid wrestler

Doug Gibson, Brent Ball, and Marty Gilley. A few Lineman i can think of.

Add Joel Davis and Joe Mullins to the list .
Some great players listed there... Duncan to Robbins great qb wr combo , Shane Tucker best fb at PV (a Mack truck in pads) as well as Duane "Bubby" Phillips a defensive weapon as a punter always putting teams at their own goal line , the boy could boom the ball and had great accuracy. Joe Mullins a headhunter at lb put several players out of games including Gravely .

The best FB at PV was Matt Stidham, hands down.

Troy Chandler was the hardest hitter. Jim Jesse the best QB! Wayne McKinney the best center!!!!!!!!!!

We'll have to disagree on that . I have seen both and though Stidham was outstanding , Tucker was the h.s. version of "The Bus " He had over 1000 yds rumbling over people while his backfield mate Bishop had over 1400 running around and by people.

I can remember Jason Strang back in the late 80's. He was a friggin beast!!!

"Bubby" was Duane's little brother, Wesley. Duane was a fantastic punter.

Ahh, a man after my own heart. I was a pee-dab when Troy, Jim, and Moose did their thing. Made the trip to Crozet to watch them beat Madison Co. I remember that kicker that didn't take any steps missed a gimme. It was a joy to witness the 1st championship.

wha bout sheldon adams or jimmy younce?

How about Kevin Mitchell from 81-82 and Josh Warren. I know Josh ended up playing football at Wake Forest.

I would say Kevin Mitchell was the fastest player to ever wear a PV uniform.

Josh Warren did make all state.

Greg Bishop was an all state running back wasnt he?
