How you doing on this fine Christmas eve? Ready to open presents tomorrow evening????
I can't speak for 22 but I can assure you that I LOVE Christmas in July!! Especially when they open the presents in Hampton!!
heck yes!!
little before 6:30 and the dominoes start falling
What really sucks though, is when you want a present really bad, and then you get it and it's nothing special.
Some presents are worth taking a chance on though
or that one present you get that makes all the other presents that much sweeter!
Ya'll must not be used to 5 star recruits...
They're still looking for that 6' qb that get's them beat by Temple and killed by FSU.

only 3 in the past 2 years
According to Rivals only 2 since '02 and one didn't exactly meet expectations.
'02 Marcus Vick
'04 Victor Harris
FSU has had 13 in that time, Florida's had 11 and Miami and UT have had 10. But we all know that alot of those guys didn't pan out either.
actually i wasn't even counting marcus
'04 victor harris
'05 melvin alaeze
'06 tyrod taylor
and if lesean mccoy switches his decision.....
Is T.T. to Tech already a forgone conclusion?
guess you'll have to stay tuned til 6:25 to find out
Harris was in the '05 class
and I'm talking about 5 star recruits that have signed not ones that ya might get.
That's been a forgone conclusion for as long as it's been an option.
and heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's a hokie!!!
T MOBILE! Yes!! Per rivals #18 overall and the #2 Dual Threat QB in the Nation. Welcome aboard!!
wonder who coined that name T-Mobile...must be a pretty smart guy
now bring Arrelious Benn, Jay Smith, Mark Barnes, Chris Culliver, Doug Wiggins and Ryan Williams with you!
Whoever he was it got a nice ring to it (pun intended ) The O this recruiting year is matching up to the D that was brought in this past season. And I can only guess that today will get Smith and Benn looking hard.
Tech has a pretty good shot at Smith and Culliver the rest of those are a bit of a stretch to me except Williams, I don't even know who he is.
Miami leads for Smith at this point, but it really doesnt matter, either way, the canes are gonna get a wealth of wide receivers this recruiting season.
If any of those guys ends up at Tech I'll be surprised, I just thought Culliver and Smith were more likley than the others.
I sure wouldn't imagine Benn.
Culliver has already committed to NC State so that doesnt really seem like a probability either.
Culliver is a soft commit and is going to unofficially visit with his teammate Oglesby who is a VT verbal before the season starts and then OV during the season with Oglesby
Smith won't leave the surrounding states if he leaves VA...Mark Barnes was at Tyrod Taylor's announcement last night if that tells you anything
I was just telling you who he leads. Smith has family in Miami, plus he lives at a beach so the environment is basically the same. Hes been a miami fan since he was a kid according to the article and said they have a slight lead at this point even though he hasnt visited.
Im not sure how much interest Miami has in him, They would take him if he committed now but they definetely have alot of other guys on their list better than Smith. Thompson, Hankerson, Bryant, and Tolliver are at the top of the list, with Guyton, Aiken, McKinnley, Rolle, and Kirkendoll as other guys that could easily end up there. Recruiting wide receivers wont be a problem this year, the depth chart makes that possible. Farquaharson is the best receiver in the land, his techniques are refind and should be a starter from day 1 come next season.

You basically said the same thing about Harvin and McDaniel last year.
comment from Jay's dad in today's paper
"I thought it was a great decision to go to Tech," said Mordecai, who added Jay plans to announce his intentions after this coming football season. "In my opinion, and my son's opinion, he's one of the best players in the nation. My son would love to have the opportunity to play with him. It's definitely in our thought pattern (to go to Tech)."
"Not taking anything away from Pete Lalich and Virginia, because the Virginia assistant coaches are great people, but this decision (by Taylor) does play a major factor," Mordecai said. "It's a new era at Virginia Tech. It's the Tyrod Taylor era. We saw the Michael Vick era. Now, we have to brace ourselves for this Tyrod Taylor era."
yes, that is Jay Smith's dad saying those things
here's a comment from Arrelious Benn
"I've never really seen him play, so I don't really know much about him, but I definitely want to talk to him," said Benn, who added that Tech is currently behind Notre Dame, Florida State, Illinois and Maryland on his list. "I know who he is. I'm going to go check out some video and things (on Taylor) right now."
Tie Rod is not Mike Vick.
and...?

Of course he isn't, he's Tyrod Taylor. And he looks pretty dang good on film. With the tools he already has and the development he will hopefully undergo, he will be fun to watch. Especially if he can be surrounded by a couple good WR's and a line to protect him with a couple of top notch backs to keep the D honest. He has the arm and moves now.
Do you guys expect him to start in '07?/
'08 at the earliest

Rumors that running back LeSean McCoy has left Milford Academy to attend one of the Virginia military schools are false, and that's good news for Miami. McCoy had a successful semester at Milford and will be back on July 23. McCoy took an official visit to Miami for the Spring Game according to coach Bill Chaplick and loved it. If McCoy stays at Milford then he'll likely end up at Miami because of the solid relationship between Chaplick and Larry Coker....A very good source told me this past week that defensive tackle Marvin Austin liked his Miami visit better than his Florida State visit, but Austin's public comments have both being equal. This source said that he expects Austin to end up in Miami when all is said and done.

Ronald Curry looked great on film also, but ended up being only an average-below average college QB as well.
Curry had 3 different offensive coordinators and not much help around him
Still, he ended up being replaced by another QB in the same sitution at NC while he was there, and became a part time player.
Yeah Durrant was definetely better.
