I'm looking into getting a masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from LMU once I graduate from Wise but my question is does it matter what you have your bachelors in? or can your BA come from almost any field or do you have to do the whole TEP thing... and what does your B.A. need to be in? As of right now I'm only 3 classes shy of my BA in History from Wise.. I'm just looking into some diff. opinions instead of just being a HS Teach or prof.

I already know I need to talk to my advisor Dr. Wilkey once I get back to school and discuss all this with her but I was just wondering if you guys knew or had any input.

I'm not positive about LMU, but at most schools Masters programs don't require your undergrad to be in an affiliated field of study.

I sent away for a packet on their masters program along with a few other places I have in mind for grad school, b/c like I said I don't want to have to go back and do the whole TEP thing at Wise.

I'm thinking the same thing. Related probably looks good but its not a necessary.

A fella on my tennis team graduated with a BS in business at uvaw then got his MA in some sort of teaching at VT. Youll be fine.

I have a BA in Histroy, an MA in School Counseling, and working on Doctoral in Educaitonal Leadership.

now I just gotta finish up all my junk at UVA-Wise the part that sucks for me is my history is almost done but I have to get some stupid filler classes to meet the 120 hours and decide on a minor.

i would recommend getting a minor in english, VERY EASY. plus you actually get to read some pretty good stuff too.

LMU is a pretty good school, from what I hear grad school is alot easier then undergrad there in almost every field. Its a pretty nice little campus.

If you are considering a career in public school administration, you'll have to have some teaching experience to go along with the Master's degree before they will hire you as a school administrator.

I worked with a psychiatrist that had his BS in zoology...but it helps to have some related field of study career wise sometimes, like Sportsman is saying. Other times people just don't care, for instance when I went to a trainingin Richmond I met a woman that had been made the director of social services and had never even walked into a DSS office up until that time, he field was financial management.
