Coeburn - Twin Springs

I will go ahead and predict I will be eating a ton of crow by predicting Coeburn to finish last in the district. First of all the score was no indication of this game. Coeburn dominated from the first play. TS which I believe could be much better with about 24 hours of straight tackling practice. The backs for Coeburn looked good, #32 was very impressive and if I'm correct he is only a soph! All TS touchdowns came off of long passes, It was rare back throw it up and hope to get lucky, and lucky they got half the time, and the other half ended up in turnover. So here`s me changing my prediction of Coeburn finishing last in the LPD, I believe they will be the quiet dark horse of the LPD and surprise some teams.

I'm proud of the Blue Knights for pulling out the win. I still think they'll struggle within the LPD though. I think they have a couple of good player in Nixon and Bright.

55-27 .. impressive score to say the least.

another bright player they have up and coming, freshman #16, Zack Hayes (cousin of all state ricky hayes from coeburn)...

You do recall them losing to Ervinton just little over a week ago dont you?

Not so Fast my friend Coeburn could very well STILL finish last in the LPD this year.......Having said that while Coeburn comming away with the win did not suprise me (I did pick that one) the fact that they put up 55 points did WOW

I actually look forward to the Coeburn-vs-Gate City matchup next week. Gate City is struggling this year, so I think now would be the perfect time for Coeburn to have the chance to really do some damage - IF they play hard enough and aren't intimidated by the past.

Anyone else agree??

That's probably going to be the game I'll go to next week... it will either be that one, or the Appy-Burton game.

No doubt Coeburn is fired up after last night. Confidence can go a long way at times. GC should win, but likely won't be the blowouts of the past few years.

Chubz, I am your greatest fan, but be real, Coeburn wont beat Gate City, no way, no how.

Could be right.. I just wasn't impressed with their performance versus Lebanon at all, and then Richlands obviously wrecked them last night.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the season turns out, but I'll still probably be going to the Coeburn game just to see what happens.. best of luck to both teams for that matter.

There's a big difference in playing a team like Richlands and playing the Coeburns and Pounds of the world. Not a knock on Coeburn by any means, but there just isn't any comparison.

I'm not saying they will BEAT THEM, I'm just saying that I believe they can possibly give them a good game if they come out and play hard enough.. They've yet to have a real test, however, and since Ervinton beat them in the jamboree, who knows what's going to happen.

And chubz...Richlands did the same thing against GC last year. Last year they were subbing people at the end of the first quarter against Coeburn. As far as Lebanon, you can't take much stock in that since alot of starters were out. Lebanon is not bad either.

To be completely honest, I WANTED to go watch the Appy-Burton game to see the intensity by both sides, but unless Appy steps it up a notch, and if they play like they did versus Rye Cove, it could get quite ugly.. I really do hope they play well, though, because they've had it rough - both coaches and players. Same for Burton.

Chubz there is a difference in saying it will be a tough battle for your team against a really good team and saying man we suck....

Look logic tells you, Gate City will be out full of fire, Coeburn will be feeling a bit better about themselves, but you'll be hard pressed to find nearly anybody who won't predict it to be an easy Gate City win.

Plus you have to think of this, you are a Coeburn student. It's different for a student to come on and say something negative about their own school than it is for someone from another area who is out of school. You know that.

Congrats to Coeburn on the win. Im sure that was a big win not only for the team but the community as well. But lets not get ahead of ourselves. There is still alot of football left to be played, and better teams to be played. Maybe after next weeks game against Gate City then we can see how far along the Blue Knights are. Anyways Good Luck to the Knights this season.

Guy`s I believe some have mis interpreted my post. All i was trying to do was congratulate Coeburn on a well played game that they domnated from begining to end. Bye saying I don`t think they will finish last in the LPD this year, some believe I was predicting them to be world beaters. I still don`t have them in the top half of the LPD, I just was advising teams playing Coeburn won`t be no off week this year. So I'm sorry if I made it seem like they were world beaters.
