we got beat by a very good team and we've got to move on (if they were missing some players i don't want to see them when their healthy!!) last year we performed very well in week 2 and i expect to see the same this year.... i have to say that i thought anderson played extremely well considering the pressure he was under and the beating he took...he took some heavy shots and just kept getting up......he is going to be a good one.....richlands keyed on tyler and i hope he is going to be healthy.....i've already asked this question once but does anyone know if he was re-injured last night....he came out and i noticed they were working on him..

Well we all expected what happened to happen. I was very pleased with the effort. Even though some thought we were sending up smoke screens. Those sophomores will grow up soon enough. I'd rather take a beating by a very good team than play a cupcake. They'll never get better that way. We'll be fine. You're right about Tihlee. I think he'll be a very good QB and I think our offense will be very good. Thankfully we won't run into too many offenses like we saw last night. You can't hang your head. They played and played hard. That's all that can be asked of them.

Someone needs to tell that moron Bob Radford from Channel 5 how to pronounce Tihlee's name. He called him Tilly last night. I hate that idiot.

I have no idea how he got that job. I know alot of people around Bristol that know him and they can't believe that's his occupation....lol

Well now that Gate City has been humbled by Richlands, perhaps the primping, strutting, and trash talking will subside? Yeah right! LOL

It seems the only people on this forum who have predicted Gate City to do poorly in the LPD are ironically people who at least claim to be from Gate City. Go figure! I think most of the LPD has a healthy respect for the Gate City.

Gate City - PV has traditionally been the LPD game of the year, and I wouldn't expect this year to be any different. But, I wouldn't put a "W" in the column just yet.

yeah thats true. gate city has some caughting up to do right now. pv is 1-0 while gc is 0-1. i will say this though, pratice for the devils this week is gonna be rough but it will only make them better. what do you all think hurt gc last night?

In all truth, if GC is playing a lot of young people, just experience.

Its not like you can really count a game against Richlands as a true testament just as truthfully, a lot of times some of the other schools can't count how they do against Gate City as an accurate assessment.

Sometimes a team is just better.

yeah thats true alot of new people filling in for the seniors that graduated. gc did throw the ball alot more than they did last year, though. what did you all think of that?

Pretty close to what I had heard they were planing this year before losing the player that was penceled in at QB to Basketball

All that matters is everyone is 0-0 in the LPD. Nobody really did anything that will matter last night as far as the post-season goes.

counts was correct to point out the importance of clintwood's upcoming non district game against haysi. with the way things are set up its usually more important to beat a fellow region d playoff contender in your same division than it is to beat a district opponent not in the same division. haysi is proably the 3rd most important game(in reference to playoffs) on clintwood's schedule behind pv and gc because they are a fellow div 2 playoff contender. clintwood is the 2nd most important game in reference to playoffs on haysi's schedule behind only honaker. far more important game than haysi's bdd div 1 opponents.

Agreed on all points. I don't think any of the games that were won or lost last night will decide who get's in. The definately start to matter this week.

That's simple. It's difficult to throw 7 or 8 sophomores out there and ask them to defend an offense like that. We weren't downing the kids by saying we expected to get beat, but I wasn't gonna get on here and make promises that couldn't be kept. They've got enough pressure on them. They'll be alright. It's no different than last year. There are 10 games in a season, not just one. They'll only get better.

Sounds like alot of young teams in the LPD. Clintwood only has 1 senior starter and 2 jr's (if I remember correctly), the rest are soph's and frosh's.

Actually we have 2 starting seniors on offense jordan slone and cj phillips and 2 juniors.

sounds like next year they'll be able to give pv a run for there money. wait, they might give everyone this year a run for their money
