VIRGINIA HIGH BEARCATS
VHS- Virginia High
Beat me to it. Sorry
Oh, OK. My bad.
I wish GC would pick up some of the tougher out of district teams but from what I hear they will be keeping a great deal of the lpd teams. The whole reason I was excited about joining the new district was the hopes of pickink up some TN teams and hopefully Graham.

VHS is playing a AA schedule really.
They have CENTRAL, TN HIGH, MARION & ABINGDON. If they can win 3 out of the 4 games mentioned they will get huge points next year.
MARION & ABINGDON will be in the SW District I believe.
Thats what I hear about Marion and Abingdon. THS has the nubers to be AAA in VA dont they? Dont know much about Sullivan Central but do know their football teams are getting better.
I would love to see GC's schedule as follows.
1. JOHN BATTLE
2. TENNESSEE HIGH
3. Lee High
4. Sullivan South or North
5. VHS
6. LEBANON
7. Powell Valley
8. Graham
9. Richlands
10. Bell County KY
Virginia's largest AA School is Liberty (Beal) with an enrollment of 1645 THS has an enrolment of 1100 so THS would be AA sized in Va as well (Unless they chose to play up)
enrolments can be found here http://www.vhsl.org/fbratings.htm

<font color="brown"> Class 4A, Tennessee High School has over 1,280 students enrolled for the 2006-2007 school year. </font>
<font color="orange"> Class 4A, Sullivan Central High School has 1,062 students currently enrolled in grades 9 - 12. </font>
BOTH WOULD BE AA IN VA. TN HIGH would be DIV.4 and CENTRAL would be borderline DIV. 3 or 4

Both are considered Division 4 in VA by the VHSL.
YEP... but at the enrollment Central is at now they could play at AA Div. 3 just look at LIBERTY BEDFORD! They have about the same enrollment.
BUT WHO CARES REALLY! haha
If they were to play in Region IV they are Div 4 (This is why I Hate the Div breakdown crud if you are going to have 6 state champs just divide the numbers across the state and add as many As you want but with no Divisions)
Graham will not play single A teams. Here is my dream schedule for the CMD years:
1. Dobbyns Bennett
2. Richlands
3. Battle
4. Lee
5. South
6. Lebanon
7. Honaker
8. George Wythe
9. Radford
10.Va High
With the open week after the last game of the regular season, like we used to do it. I also like a Big road game during the season - overnight, if possible. We used to play Northside in Roanoke and stay all night. A team in Pennsylvania contacted coach C for a home and away series in 96/97 (Coach turned it down and added Grayson Co. wouldn't that have been fun?
Actually rumor has it that Graham and GC might hook up again soon. But that is just rumor.
I don't know about that. Everyone knows Graham is too good to play a single A team. Even a consistently talented and well regarded team like Gate City.
No offense to anyone, but why would Graham play a single A school. It would hurt them with the point system.
Does not seem to be a problem for Richlands this year LOL
I that Carlock had alot to do with the no A school thing next year will be Grahams 1st schedule that he did not make
You get more points from beating a 7-3, 8-2, or 9-1 d2 team than you would get beating a D3 school with a .500 or under record. Plus, in Region IV, you make the playoffs by only winning 3 or 4 games and playing single A teams. Tazewell and others have proved that the past couple seasons.
For defeating a 7-3 Division 2 team you would receive 26 points: 12 for the win plus 14 rider points (2 points for each of the defeated opponents wins).
For defeating a 5-5 Division 3 team you would receive 25 points: 15 for the win plus 10 rider points (again, 2 points for each of the defeated opponents wins).
There really isn't that much difference between the two.
