well its basketball time again. Football is winding down for most schools. I was curious who all will be contending for the top spots. any coaching changes? i know there is a post already about this but this is for predictions. also if you can tell us somethin about each school that you know any info for.
Can someone give me some info on powell valley? we play them this year.. i know about their coach and thats bout it.. the mitchell kid is probably the only player they have .. thats what i have heard
ok you must have forgotten about Mumpower....he can play some ball....and im sure Thomas Haines and Jay Frazier will be playing....IMO i think PV will be pretty tuff to beat
I already posted that the boys Varsity team at Appy has a new/old head coach, Pat Jervis...but might as well post it again since this it was asked again....
i seen some powell vally players in gate city 3 on 3 tourmanent.. is the frazier kid the pt guard.. he is quick.. ts beat them in the 3on 3 tournament preety bad....
who does appy have this year.. coach jervis is a great guy... hope he does good there.
gc fans.. is hackeny going to play this year or not.. if so im sure u guys will win district hands down.. even if he doesnt play i think u will still win it... some very good jv teams the past couple of years.. i also heard u have some transfer students.. this is no joke..

well we have a pretty decent line-up....but we did lose baber and well thats a pretty big loss....but im pretty sure we have a few others that will step it up.... we still have Chad Leedy, Brett Leedy(if everything is ok with his hand) Josh Ayers, Devin Brickey, Bud Allen, Josh Allen, and myself...
I dont see how anyone could give GC anything, personally I think they are good, but dominant no. I wouldnt say anyone of their team is dominant.
I wouldnt judge PV's team by a 3 on 3 tourney.....they have serveral great ball players returning this season....
well when was the last time somebody other than gc won the district.... the lpd is a football district not a basketball district..
i wasnt trying to say Pv is going to win district or anything like that....i was simply saying that they're going to have a pretty decent team this year

Interesting comment. I dare to say that the August 2 a days in the 90 plus degree heat is just a sniff more intense than the dreaded Tennis practice of March and April.

I prefer tennis as a matter of fact. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] It definately attracts more of the ladies. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img].lol And tennis is a sport that you can take with you wherever you go for the rest of your life. But again, I do like/love both sports so it was just amusing for me to see a post with a football player bashing on tennis even though no sport is superior.
So as for the tennisguy and the football man. They decided not to fight and left after a quick drink.

My issue was with the comment that you made about people who play football just get on the team without having to work for it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I wouldnt even begin to compare 1 tennis practice or 1 basketball practice to a 2 a day in August. I dont care what the circumstances are. If you have been with a football team from day 1, you have worked for it. Your perspective is typical for someone who never played.

Where is this Kelly and Coeburn stuff coming from?
Kelly was terrible last year and lost their best two players and Coeburn lost their two big men, they are gonna struggle, Adkins is gonna have to carry the load alone.
I personally think clintwood will be higher than 7th this year...just my biased opinion though.
its hard to tell who will win this year...its way to early for predictions...
