Does anyone know anything about Glenvar football? I noticed they have only played 2 teams with winning records and their point production isn't that great.

I reckon they are playing roundball now instead of football.
At 9-1 they didn't make the playoffs?
That is correct.
Thanks for the info. They gave Giles a decent game, didn't they? I just assumed they would be in the playoffs.
Giles smoked them 37-0.
All four district champs in region C were from division 2.
The interesting thing about the Giles situation is that according to (I think it was in the Va preps board) if Glenvar had LOST to Bath Co. and finished 8-2 instead of 9-1 Bath Co. would have got there districts auto bid instead of the Div2 that got it. If that had happened then Glenvar not only would have made the playoffs but made it as the #2 seed.
I think I am starting to agree with the call that is starting to rise up for the eliminations of the District Champs Auto playoff birth

the same thing will happen in region d from now on with 4 districts.
I doubt it. Maybe occasionally, but Coeburn is still going to have a dogfight to win the CD year in and year out. This past year they would have finished around 5th.
Coeburn's numbers may make them a Div 1 school next year with Lee and the other schools coming in. The CD may still not have a D-2 school.
LOL the same thing happened back when RC was a Div2 team (Clintwood missed the playoffs at 8-2 and Honaker missed it at 9-1)
ALOT will depend on the Div1/2 split
This year more Div1 schools won there districts than Div2 schools.
Haysi will drop next year and it is possable that both Honaker and Coeburn could drop as well.....That would make both the BDD and the CD Div1 only districts the CVD div2 only and the LPD the only Mixed District so you Probably will not can 4 district champs all in the same Div (but it could happen)
I have a feeling the "RC rule" will be dropped due to all the regions being more closely aligned as far as the number of teams and such. Plus, this will keep the D1 from being very top heavy in region D.
Haysi will get to drop to Div1 either way. CLintwood, Coeburn and Honaker would still need the RC rule however as of yet there has not been a motion to revolk it and honistly I do not think they will be since the VSHL could still deny any of those teams the ability to play Div1 since the RC rule states you can appeal your placement (not that you can drop for sure)
Very true, I forgot about that it was not an automatic if your below the 50% mark.
Aren't Haysi's and CW's enrollment numbers almost identical?
Not far off but Haysi is still lower and if it comes to a 50/50 split Haysi would be the last team under the cutoff unless Haysi(Will not happen since they are projected to be even smaller next year) or one of the other Div 1 school jump in enrollment past Clintwood or Honaker
