I guess it is a trade off. more touchdowns or more touches and more yards
i totally agree. the yards and touches are more valuable, but dang, i'd love to have more TD's in the stat column. could mean more money come contract negotiations.
make that 11 TD's.
Ive been thinking the same thing all season. I have Jones on my fantasy team and its driving me crazy.
This has done nothing but [censored] me off. Like last week JJ catches a screen pass and takes it down to the 1, then guess who comes in, Marion "[censored]" Barber for the one yard score.. Hell give JJ a couple.
Another thing that has taken away from JJ's productivity. He used to get a lot of 3rd and long draws that he could rack up a few nice yards with, his rookie year he ran the hell out of draws and now that is gone to guess who, you got it, Marion Barber. I would be a little mad if I was him....
If he and Thomas get 1,000 yards both this season they will be the only brothers in NFL history to accomplish that feat.
he (Romo) looks like he has started for 5 years.
I want to see him on a big time stage against a big time defense. Not saying thanksgiving isnt a big stage, but the Bucs arent world beaters by any stretch of the imagination. Watching Romo progress should be fun. The more game tape becomes available, the better prepared defenses will be to throw different stuff at him.
Does anybody know why Julius hasn't played the last few series..... Did I miss something....
I was just wondering the same thing, I would venture that Parcells is keeping the punishment down on his first string back.
I have a bad feeling that Julius will lose his starting position to Barber by the way things have gone over the last season or so.... Barber has become more and more of the offense since he has been there. He went from third string, to back up, to 3rd Down back, to the back they use inside the 20, to the back they use during the 2 minute drill, not lacking much to taking over the whole dang thing ...
I know the Big Tuna said he wants to utilize a 2 back system but Julius is slowly becoming the #2 back.
I wouldn't panic just yet. Julius is still the back with the long-ball threat, as he could break one at any time. Have you guys noticed how many holding calls Dallas has called on them when Julius gets a decent run??? I'm flabbergasted, and Parcells should be too. I think Julius was out more of a "keep him fresh and uninjured" mode for Parcells. They do have 5 tough games ahead: Giants, Saints, Falcons, Eagles, and Lions. None of those teams will be pushovers, and Detroit will be a dangerous last game, especially if there are play-off implications for the Boys.

at that time of the game, the cowboys already had it wrapped up. remember, they just played a game 4 days ago. more than likely it was just to rest juice.
Dallas seems to be doing what most do in a two QB situation.
They run Barber when they know they need to pound it out and put it to bed.
And they run Julius when they need to move it quickly.
A good combination in most situations. However, when it does come to money. Well those hard yards and TD's mean a lot more than most things.
Parcells is a good coach and he may be helping the team and himself by using the best two players he can, besides the QB change to Romo, and folks don't get to excited.
Romo is still young and he will make mistakes against a NY stle defense, that shows you all kinds of looks.
The worst thing that could happen to Dallas right now is a bit of arrogance, as in their QB. And a sense of jealousy as in J.J. and Barber not understanding what Parcells is doing.
Julius didn't look too jealous when he congratulated Barber on his long run. He's usually the first guy to great Barber on the sidelines after a Barber TD. I think Julius has matured beyond that, knowing its a team sport. With the numbers he's put up since he's been in the league, he'll have a place to go if the Cowboys tire of him. I just don't see that happening.
