Anything but. GC was behind the entire game, never was as close as the final score indicated. If Tabernacle had hit those gimme's they missed, it would have been a 20 point game.

Tabernacle is still playing that nasty playground ball. Looking for big plays on the fast break and making very stupid mistakes.

GC looked like they did Fri and Sat. nights. Tenative and without scoring. Hackney scored all but 3 or 4 of his points in the second half.

To tell you the truth, they almost looked like a better team without Anderson in there. Hackney seemed to be a lot happier once he was getting most of the touches.

GC needs Anderson...Hack needs to be more comfortable with the ball...ball pressure, attention away from the ball, spacing, movement on offense instead of standing and watching, taking care of the ball...pretty much all of the above went wrong today, but im sure Coach Vermillion will drive that point home

On the flip side if GC had hit some of those good looks they had at the bucket, especially some of the 3's they missed (Salyers was just a hair short the entire game) they could have won. As ugly as GC played it is hard to believe they only lost by 6 [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] Guess it's good thay Tabernacle played just as ugly. That much is true. GC has not been hitting anything (and I've watched them just as much as I've seen TS).

I knew Tabernacle would play the way they did. They are very undisciplined. They have enough athleticism to keep them in games, but they could be so much more with better coaching.

30-36? That should be a half time score. Id be depressed if I were a coach or player and that was our scores.

Then there were several highly depressed teams in Bristol yesterday.

I have to be brutally honest and agree that 30-40 points is very low scoring for a H.S. basketball, maybe ok fer JV. Seems like in my High School days we had 3 guys who scored 1000 pts. in their career and were physicaly strong. Seems the games were in the 70 point range. These guys lifted weights hard. All 3 went on to play college BB. 40 points is very low per game, tells us that a team only has 1 or 2 players that can score. Teams need to hit the weights more and players need to develop their offensive abilities or else these scores are gonna continue to be low...Defense is good but your team must score, we should not play Johnny Majors basketball and pass the ball until it gets stolen, shoot it I say... oh but what do I know....

Yep, that is why I said on the CD board that if he played GC would win. If he didn't TS would win. I figured he would give Matthews fits.

Actually they have been shooting, but when you only hit 25% from the field it's hard to roll up any points if you aren't getting any offensive boards.

If that be and it is (that GC is only shooting as a team in the 20-30% range so far this year), it tells a country boy from Hiltons that either they don't have any other shooters/rebounders on the team or they do have but their other players should be practicing shootin (50 shots per practice) and boxing out/rebounding per player, hint coach. Otherwise, Hackney and Anderson is all they have..so I challenge the rest of the team to sho yourself offensively if GC is gonna move up, to start making your shots, 2 for 8 does not get it...lift weights, practice shooting ure shot, eat it, live it, its crunch time, leave ure mommas at home....we need help offensively, who is gonna step up??

Well said. I think in time Johnson, a Soph., will be a good post player. I'm still looking for Salyers to get hot and light up the 3's too. When he's on he can really drain em.

How many games are we into the season? I keep hearing this....not seen it yet...

6? I'm ready for them to break out of the slump their in myself.
