Ok sheeple...

For all of those people who have been harping for a month about the greatness of Ohio State, Michigan, and the little 11.... you are sheep. You let ESPN, ABC, and countless others tell you how amazing, great, and all world the Buckeyes and their Heistman trophy winner was. They have 84 yards of offense through 3 1/2 quarters of play. They had one drive over 10 yards the first half and most of the 3rd. All ready in another post somebody has started saying OSU was off 51 days, falling into the excuses that the Disney Corp. wants you to buy. UF was off less than two weeks less. Not that big a difference. If nothing else, OSU should have had more time to prepare, more time to recoup injuries, more time to get motivated. So, as it's 41-14 with 10 minutes to go, I say sleep well sheep. I'll be counting you tonight in my dreams. 1. Indian Dad, 2. Rocketeer, 3.......

The fact is put this awesome ohio state team in the SEC and the lose 3 possibly 4 games to LSU, florida, Auburn, possibly even Auburn, and who knows who else could`ve beat them Tennessee, Bama, and more played those 4 teams tough

I'll be the first to admit though even as a Gator fan I never in my wildest dreams thought the score would look like this and I doubt many people did.

A guy in Atlanta called in today and said an SEC team could play in the Big 10 and cry to their mommies.......put Ohio State in the SEC and they'd still go undefeated. Something tells me he's under a rock from this point on. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

It's hard to go undefeated in the SEC, give Flordia some credit for making it out of the SEC with just 1 lose.

Its not really about the big 10 and the SEC, its about matchups, each team matches up differently. Michigan did lose to USC, but we are talking about the Trojans, the 21st century dynasty and then Ohio State shouldnt have even showed up last night. You gotta look at UT losing to Penn State and Wisky beating Arkansas. Its not about conferences, its about matchups. The big east won the cup with a perfect bowl record. The whole conference thing is overrated. The SEC puts more NFL players in the nfl than any other conference, thats a great testament to the conference, that shows the success that does make it overall, the best conference. However, if the Big 10 and SEC played 10 games, Im pretty sure youd have mixed results about every time. Really, noone here could really guess who would win between Indiana and Mississippi State. Hell noone here could predict the USC/Michigan game including myself. There are way too many variables to even speculate what would happen between team A and team B. If Florida and LSU played tomorrow, Vegas would likely have LSU as a favorite which is another testament to the conference. The SEC is the best conference but its hard to down the big 10, they got the SEC twice in some pretty tough games. I heard Ohio State was going to stomp Florida, but I also heard UT was going to stomp Penn State. With matchups, a month off, a neutral field, and injuries, its really hard to guess what will happen.

I never really predicted who would win last night but I did think Ginn would get a special teams touchdown at some point and I did think Florida would win after I saw their faces in the pregame. Those dudes were focused and Ohio State had no pep in their step. They looked really flat to me.

Motivation has so much to do with these games especially when two teams are equal in talent.(I guess Ohio State and Florida are equal in talent, who knows)

My last observation about this game was speed. Tony Gonzalez looked like Deion during the season, he looked like Joe Jurevicious last night.

Ba ba but I had said I thought Florida and the speed would be tough to deal with.

Ohio State is fast but nowhere near as fast as Florida. You can't simulate it and we all have heard that and know that.

I'm struck by several years back when UT was good and Alex Brown I think it was just by himself was able to out-quick anything that UT threw and win a game by himself. If UT faced him multiple times, sure they find a way to chip him more, run away from him more.

50 something is almost double 30 something. Its a good difference. You put on 30 lbs, you gained weight. You put on 50, you let yourself go. You go 30 mph over the speed limit, wreckless driving. You go 50 over, you go to jail. I guess I go by it this way, we talk about how teams start practice early, they have an extra week or two weeks to prepare, to get ready for something and how that can make a difference at the beginning of the season (see Norton basketball talk previously mentioned).

Alex Brown is still a beast, unfortunately he has always only played when he wants to play, ala Randy Moss.
