Phil's leaving PV and going to Abingdon
i thought you were going to say that gate city was leaving the state....darn.
about the abingdon job, i heard dennis vaught is after it.
I heard Phil was going to San Diego now.
I dont see Phil leaving now, but you never know, if the money is right, who knows.
i've heard the same thing a few times today. i was told by a pretty reliable county employee that is a fact. i didn't want to start any rumors, but since it's already in the open, oh well.
Any word on Colobro going to Tn?
Why would he do this now? Abingdon is in region 4 and the river ridge just moved to region 4 . this will make it hard for Abingdon to get out of the region playoffs. So, if I was a betting man I would say no Phil stays at Poo Valley. Phil is about phil .

I see the Head Man back in BLUE for next year.
I heard Nick Saban is thinking about leaving Alabama now after making those racial remarks about the Cajuns..... and has now decided to go back to his roots coaching high school football. I heard he put in for the Abingdon H.S. head football coaching position but even he may not get it because when asked why he would take a job coaching high school football in the southwestern part of Virginia, he replied, "Dang... they some good football in this part of the state and besides... how tough could it be coaching hillbillies? If Jed can make it in Beverly Hills, I know I can make it in Abingdon." ESPN to report on it later in Sportscenter.

Yea but at least post something that is somewhat truthful!
Yea your right it is a free message board but I don't think it was meant for people to just make up stuff so they could post on a topic.
If your gonna post, why not have it mean something or at least have some truth to it...mistaken truth if that. LOL
Look, all I know is what I was told by someone whom I trust. I asked if this person if the source for this was reliable, and was told, "Very much so." I'm not a malicious person, and would never want to cause a problem. I merely wanted to see if anyone had any relevant info regarding this.
So, no, it isn't something I made up. If you have proof that it's not true, then post it. That's all I'm looking for.
If you don't like what he posts, don't read it. It's not like you have contributed anything worthwhile since you've been here.

I wish this was true and not a rumor.
Guys you're not gonna believe this but my sources in Hoover Alabama have informed me that Rush Propst is leaving Hoover to become the new football coach at powerhouse Thomas Walker

Whomever told you that Phil would leave PV for Abingdon was wrong.
FACT - Phil has not interviewed for the Abingdon job.
FACT - Phil was shopping for new Viking uniforms and other things maybe 2 months ago.
So, Why leave one of the best programs in the state and go to one of the most troubled?
Wouldn't make very good sense would it.

Hey... its a sportsboard... and I don't see why you cant have a lil fun on here once in a while. My comment was sports related and to how business has flown around Saban in the past few months... I think it does mean a lil something. I think a lil humor is a lot better than a large amount of insults anyday. Smile man... we are Americans able to enjoy sports and enjoy life and live in a nation where we can speak our mind. Why things in life have to be about control and manipulation in just the minute things in life really blow my mind. Thank God I was raised by people who encouraged me to use my creativity instead of raising me to be a robot and always go with what everyone else is doing which is what I believe people in this nation do too much of anyway. This goes along with sports as well... you ask why... well.. if you used your creative mind you would know why. If someone is a true sports fan and knows what makes a team successful or an organization successful, then this will happen. You are going to have a ton of people be Kobe, LeBron, or Tracy McGrady fans simply because they are the in thing and that is all they know is what is good and what is the in thing. Its people like me who see people like Steve Kerr or John Paxson (with the Dynasty Bulls teams) or people like Reggie Wayne, Rhodes, or Clark with the Colts who function in their roles and do those little things that make their teams great. People talk about Manning and how great he is... and I am not in disagreement. But I would be the first to bet huge money that one of the first remarks out of Peyton's mouth would be... if it weren't for Reggie Wayne, Clark and Rhodes... we wouldnt be where we are today. They make my job easy. In a world full of robotic minds... it is nice to know that there are still some creative ones out there who see what success in sports is all about. Whatever I teach my kids in the future about doing things in life, I am going to teach them right from wrong (I believe that is important), but I am going to teach them to think for themselves. Yes.. I'm going to teach them some great things.. but if I can't teach them to think for themselves out in life and teach them that only you know in your heart what is correct.. then I am going against everything I believe to be true. That from creativity comes genious. When your mind is stuck behind a Playstation, Nintendo or whatever... it is hard to get a lil creativity going. Go out, climb a mountain... use your brain a lil. You ask.. "climbing mountains spurs creativity?" It also inspires a lil heart and soul as well. You see a mountain in front of you. You either set it in your heart to go climb that sucker or you give up. That right there kind of gives you an idea of how much inner fortitude you are gonna have to begin with. Once you begin the climb though... you start to think... hmmmm ... which is the best path to take? Kind of like life. When faced with a mountain in life, the answers are not gonna be handed to you like they are for some Playstation game in a magazine. God I'm glad I grew up on a farm and got to roam the mountains and stuff. Kids today have no idea of what you learn about life just from living in that environment. I didn't have the best of everything... we were not that well off... but I gained a lot of riches in learning about what to do, how to do it and to never give up on something I believe in and that I know I can do. When Playstation games get to a certain level and you cant go no further.. it is the mindset of the kid to turn it off and go to another game. Life is one game....what you do with it is your decision.
Now how does it relate to sports? Check out our athletes today. Show me at least 20 hard, mentally tough, physically tough, well spoken, well disciplined, strong academic type athletes in say the LPD for instance... someone you would want in a foxhole with you in the toughest times... list them right here and I will show you how downhill things are around here in todays time. 20... or maybe even 10 years ago.. I could name you that many or more... times have changed.. and kids around here... while talented... are not as mentally or physically hard as they could be because they have not had to be. With all the new tech stuff surrounding them in this day and time... don't look for it to improve any either. That is just the day we live in. That is why we can only hope they get a really good education. Thank goodness we dont have to rely on sports to get us through life. Everyone would be failing the No Child Left Behind regulations for sure then.

The offer is Robbins will make more money while only having to coach.
So it`s making less money coaching and teaching
vs.
Just coaching and making more money
Actuall yeah. They dont mind up here in Tornado Alley if you skip a couple classes here and there. I thought with this weather and you yourself should know how the weather is up here in Bristol... wouldnt be a bad day to head out to South Holston Lake and lay out and do some studying up there. Lake is pretty up here today. I just got back before it started to really cloud up some. Oh yeah... workin in the classroom. hahahaha Well.. that is what I hope to do one day... I'll be doing my student teaching in the spring.
I'm glad I know I have someone behind me who knows I can teach. Really makes me feel good. I appreciate it man.
Thanks for the info. That's all I was looking for - the facts.

you have a gf named Shannon? I thought you were married... maybe I heard wrong. I need to clean the wax out of my ears.
The rumor all over Big Stone today is that Robbins did accept the job at Abingdon and is done at PV.....I have heard this from quite a few sources that are responsible.
Well he was at the PV game last night, so if the debate was going on his mind, he at least was keeping up the image.
Got to say if the money and the lack of teaching rumor is true, why wouldn't he? It's a nice area, he could coach a few years, up his retirement payout, and if he had success, be given a lot of credit. If he didn't have success, can blame it on the area.
Heard the rumors of Phil leaving for several years now, so I'll believe it when its verified, but it does make sense.
Beleive it guys..... It is gonna happen.
Nothing surprises me, but if this happens, it will. I wish him the best if he does leave.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? Washington County is not going to pay Phil Robbins to just coach football and not teach and it sure as heck wouldn't be as much money as he's making now. Look at the pay scales. Wise County pays a lot more for coaching than Washington County. Abingdon has already interviewed coaches for the football position and Robbins wasn't one of the candidates. I think a lot of you guys just make this stuff up to see if anyone will believe it.
We will find out in the next couple of days who was right and who was wrong

Well since we got 2 people who have at least a couple hundred posts, taking strong sides one way and the other, one is going to be wrong. It will be nice to see someone admit being wrong.
