Hood played a decent game, but it would have helped if he had talent around him <font color="blue"> </font>

Just goes to shows you that it takes five to win a ballgame!!
Why are we talking so much about Adam Hood? Gate City won and that's all that matters. Heck anybody could score thirty if they took 50 shots a game. Correct me me if i'm wrong
i agree.. anyone who took 108209820498 shots a game is bound to get some points.. come on! and one assist? okAY*
Seems that people enjoy watching and talking about one of the best bball players to be around in awhile.

You are.
He shot 21 times from the floor last night. Made 9 shots, which puts his FG% right at 43%. He has 500+ assists for his career.
He probably averages 50% from the field or better.
Adam knows basketbal. No doubt. He's well-rounded and the best player in the region. Don't hate.
Does anyone know if that was Reagan's last game as coach for Rye Cove? I had heard that he was giving it up after this season.
Coach Mullins is finished...for awhile at least.
He'll be missed!
well-rounded? looks like the only thing he knows how to do is shoot. 1 assist my friend, 1 assist!!!
we're talking about last nights game i do believe.. not all the games that he's played for rye cove.. 1 assist, that's all im sayin!
How many did you have?
probably the same amount as you.. im pretty sure this a sports forum & 90% of these people aren't even basketball players but its okay for them to talk about it.. however, whenever i point out something you dont want to hear its not okay anymore.. riiiight! Don't get your panties in a wad, wheezer. You just seem to be insistent on harping on one little statistic. Personally, I don't care if he had 1 assist or 100 of them.
Hackney had 20 points last night and was GC's leading scorer. How many assists did he have?
(Don't get me wrong, I think Hackney played a great ballgame and made some tough shots....but using your logic, I'm attempting to prove a point.)
we were talking about adam hood not jamie hackney.. but im not going to argue with anyone about this because it's simply a stat* soooo im done with this topic. its not really that important, is it?
I guess your done because you probably just got put in your place. Look at Hoods career stats. Over 2000 points, and close to 600 assists. If all of those assists are 2 point baskets that another 1800 points he has created.
Yeah, he only shoots that all. I guess everyone else is in the same boat considering he led all of SWVA in assists his freshman year, and was first or second his sophomore, and was still a top assist man the past 2 years. I guess you have to be selfish to almost average a triple double.
Your just another one of these jealous trolls who pop up from time to time on here.
Well, going by what someone else said, Hood could have used more talent around him. If he made 10 perfect passes to people who didn't make shots, how many assists could he get? You can only get assists if the people you feed the ball to, put the ball in the hole. There is no 'good pass but no basket' stat.
If you take in to fact that the all-time leading scorer in the state of Virginia, Stacy Ervin who finished with 2670 some points.... but also as well.... look at how many postseason games that Ervin played in compared to how many postseason games that Hood has played in. To score over 2000 points in that fashion says a lot to me about the capable scorer he has become.
adam is a really good player and a really good guy as well....nothing but respect for him as a player and a person
Last night was the first time I seen Hood play this year. I thought he played well, but I think he tried to do too much. I know he is confident in his shooting abilities, but he took some 3's that weren't far from half court. RC and TS played very similar games as everything for RC revolved around Hood and with TS, everything revolved around Dockery. RC kept the game close for a while, but as the people there would attest, there were alot of prayer shots thru up by RC that somehow found the bottom of the net, most of them by Hood.
adam hood is a dang good player, and if not the best then there's no question he's top 3 in the region, whether or not he had a lot of assists last night doesn't tell the tale of him as a player, very solid player in all facets of the game and he had a very good career...very nice guy too
He has been making "prayer" shots since the third grade!

I've seen Adam make plenty of killer passes in games that should have resulted in an assist for him, but didn't. His assist total could easily be closer to 1,000.

Amen! And his shot range begins at the midcourt stripe. I've seen dozens of threes go in from one step past the stripe!
Doesn't matter to me if it's a "prayer" shot or not. As long as it goes in.
You're preachin' to the choir there, bro!
where is Hood playing college ball at? Can he play division I?
I'm pretty sure Hackney had about 6 assists, which 3 to cody salyer and the totals to 9 points, and three others that were 2 pointers so if you total them all up that comes out to be 15 points if your a mathematician.
I don't think Adam has committed. E&H, UVA-Wise, LMU, and King are possibilities. E&H has had coaches come to watch him several times now.
Can he play Div 1? I don't know, but he certainly has the heart required. I was hesitant in thinking TJ and JJ could play Div. 1 football, but look what they accomplished in college and the pros.
he's not athletic enough to play on the D1 level, but he could be a very good D3 player in the right system
I talked with Adam about it, and hes not getting the D1 offers, and its mainly due to quickness. He knows that is sort of a whole different level to truelly compete. He could possibly go to ETSU and be a backup PG, and set the pine, but going the D2-D3 route is more appealing where I would be very surprised if the didn't make a nice impact.
I know he likes Emory's offense. Of course who wouldn't when they shoot close to 80 3's a game, and average about 115 points.
He would fit in perfectly at Emory. Bombs away!
actually im done because i have better things to do than argue on the computer with people i dont even know.. Im not saying that adam hood isn't a good basketball player because that would just be ignorant for anyone to say
Hey, you are right. In this part of the state he is a good ball player.
