I heard today that John Battle has made efforts to get two foreign exchange students for next year. They are from Russia. One kid plays football and basketball and the other plays basketball. Don't know what kind of talent they have...but I guarantee we'll be competing next year for a title. Along with my upcoming freshman nephew we should be solid. I actually caught wind of that rumor myself. Thats music to my ears because I want everybody to get of the springs' back for once. See guys we aint the only ones to get exchange students, not our fault if they can play some ball!

I'd take a foreign exchange student over any player in the LPD right now or that has ever played. No Southwest VA athlete can compete....Gate City and the rest of the region should know that. If the LPD is Southwest Va, and you live 30 min away...where in the hell do you live?? I hate to tell ya but you live in SWVA too you tard. I know Battle wont show anyone how to play football next year..You need to look at the schools in the LPD in SWVA that dont play football and count the state titles...IN FOOTBALL!!

I know I live in Southwest VA...and I know we WERE (were being the keyword) horrible this past year, last year, the year before that, etc. You didn't have to tell me. But so were you bludvl. But next year will be a different story.

Let's see.......one horrible year every 30 years compared to one decent year in 30 years. Yeah, I can see the comparison.

When's the last time JBHS won a district title or even better when's the last time they had a winning record in football......exactly. So shut your mouth about Gate City football and your definately not going to hold a candle to us next year.

Battle will never win a game in the new CMD. The new "best" district around.

Yeah, we will get killed because Gate City has 7 or 8 All-Americans on the team just like they always do don't they??? Football isn't the only sport around my friend....although at Gate City it's the only sport. You all come to our district and play George Wythe...I doubt you'd ever get a district title in football. I know they aren't the only school in district, but if we did win that's who'd be standing in our way. From what I know, y'all can't even beat Powell Valley, let alone GW.

Football isnt the only sport in GC, we been goin to state and bringin it home in almost every sport. What about your beloved volleyball team?? I think the only sport we havnt made it to the state level in is football in the past 2 years, but we did win in 2003. When was the last time Battle won state in anything??

We won state in baseball in 2001. Made it very far in softball last year...if I recall correctly, the final four or even the finals. If there are other sports at GC, then what's this Football Statue I hear of??

because gate city football is a dynasty. that doesnt mean that it's the only sport we believe in, just our favorite.
