I don't do Tops & Bottoms. Just a personal thing.
But I have looked at other stores in the kids sections... haven't found any just "plain" ones yet.
I shall keep searching.
For now I'll hang on to my Birkenstocks.

T&B has the best selection of these things I've ever seen. And better prices than you will find anywhere.

So what if you have to put up with an overt religious tone to the store?

I don't care for their billboards either, but it is the only place I buy shoes.

Look at the No-Fear store in Bristol Mall. Found some there small enough to fit my 2 grand daughters.

I have major shoe shopping issues.
There's one store in the mall where I can just buy shoes right off the shelf - the Birkenstock store. Not just for sandals anymore! I love those things. They're SO comfy and last forever. But a person can only afford so many pair of $150 shoes.

Just can't see it. Especially size 13

I resisted for a long time. Just got tired of going home every morning with the feet and legs of a 75 year old.

Well if I ever get the opportunity I may have to check it out. I have limited time for going out.

I do hit kingsport on occasion, but that's because the dog food we buy isn't sold around here. Even that has to be a planned trip!

I considered ordering some online... but what if the sizing isn't right... a hassle to return.

It was an investment! I've had that one pair for over 2 years now, they're just perfect. Had a pair before that, but one of the dogs teethed on them - turned one into a flip flop

My wife has two pairs of those $150 Birks. Not as bad as my $200 boots.

I came to the conclusion long ago that you are entirely better off paying a little more to get a quality product. What good is it to pay $50 for a pair of boots at Wally World that might last one winter when you can take $200 and get a pair of boots that will last 5+ years?

If they make your feet and legs feel better, I'll even buy the faggy ones!

I'll have a better feeling for it by 5AM, but my feet are feeling better already.

I'm already thinking about getting a pair with the holes for wearing on the boat this summer. Nothing worse than wet socks.

I'm serious. If they feel that good, let me know. Between the heel spur and the arthritic knee, I need some help. If I'm lucky, I can manage jogging a couple of miles every other day and to do that, I have to come home and lie down for about 30 minutes. Lazy, absolutely! Necessary, definitely.

My wife has bad knees and ankles and swears by the Crocs.

I may have to get the pink ones then. If I'm going to tell people I wear Crocs, I might as well go all the way. Couldn't look any more funny than a 6'3" 240 lb. knucklehead trying to learn how to hula hoop in class. Long story. It's been a Monday for the ages.

how about shin splints...i got em in both legs

Too much tennis gave me them.

I know very little about that affliction.

i got them from basketball...it's where the way you run in both tennis and basketball sometimes causes you to change your running style, say if you were to need to stop quickly and you try to do so by having your heel land first rather than the toe in an upwards manner...if it causes a bad habit and you start to run that way regularly then you can develop shin splints which hurt like crazy, but for me it only hurts when i stop playing (with the occasional hurt while im playing)

the team trainers here gave me some half insoles that raise my heel up a little and they worked for a while but i guess my running style hasn't changed from the years of tennis so i'm back to square one

Those badboys are hell on high school wrestlers as well. I know they caused my cousin many a painful night.

I have a pair of Herman Survivor boots I bought in Blacksburg when I was at Tech in 1979 . They have scuffs and scratches but are still great boots . The Hermans today are not near the quailty due to new ownership several years ago .

I'm gonna have to remain staying away from the crocs.

You need to check ebay, my wife gets Birk's off of there and has never had sizing issues, if you get actual Birk's they will all be the same, and the best part is the same $150 pair in the store you can get for around $60-$80.

Oh I check off and on. It's sometimes hard to find the real thing and not the fakes being passed off though. I have a few styles in mind I'd like to have.

QVC.com has them on sale for the $60-70 range - have some styles I liked, but the smallest size they had was a 5.5-6 and I need a 5. Tempted to buy a pair anyhow.. for that price I could maybe handle the slightly larger size! [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

You have the same foot issue my wife does. Infants feet. She does have a couple of pair of crocs and loved them. She got them last year while she was pregnant. One size that fits now, and another when her feet were swollen that she gave to her mother.

I feel better now Bob that you may get one. I have been thinking of getting a pair for casual wear, and like you it had crossed my mind for boating, and possibly my float tube.

Go buy a pair tomorrow! 10 hours at work and 3.5 hours on the boat and my feet and knees felt fine.

Wal Mart got them? I'm dying tonight. Didn't even get to run. And I wear really comfortable running shoes all day.
