My Character Lately And Why

Let's just say it matches the majority of what is on here all the time.
Rude, crude and obnoxious behaviors, so i acted like many of you.
And yet you go off. Why. I just did what many of you on here do daily.
Other than the filthy talk and the cussing in every sentence.
And the avatars.
How many of you would let your kids read this forum. With how you act on here yourselves.
You chatise me. Well all i did was stay off posting for awhile and read.
And come back and acted like the majority of how many of you on here do.
And you go off. Why?
It's how this is all the time. No one can have a conversation without someone getting into it. Or just throwing in their snide comments to get someone to say something.
No one can voice an opinion without being accused of something.
I think now i am a drunk? Well i guess if i am it beats some things. Huh
If you disagree with some your hunted like prey. And taunted till you just hang it up.
Then there is the filthy talk and all the other little things.
So tell me would you want your kids to read this. And to read how you act and respond.
I wouldn't and before you go off on me.
Well i took it from several of you guys.
So before you get all rude and wild. Well all i did minus the cussing and filthy talk was act like about 5-6 of those on here.
Hmm. seems you don't like yourselves very much or your reflections.
And yeah i did the majority of it here. Where those who do it can still visit.
Not like the majority who do it on the sports and non sports forums.
So some wanted to know why. Well that was why.
I wanted some to see their own reflections.
Minus the filthy talk and the censor censor in every sentence.

LPD, one thing that I'm going to say, because I really am not in the mood for another round and round with no logic or answers or anything.

Maybe just maybe you need to see that there is a bit of gamesmanship, and while you think you are some master of games, even though you don't play them (according to you) but just at the beginning here, you admit to playing games.

I know that there are long time users/posters who will say how horrible I am when they talk to someone who is mad, and say bad things to me about whomever is mad at me. Then they sit back and watch the show.

Yeah I know some people think there are certain rules for some and certain rules for others, and I know some will preach that to you, because they know you chomp at the bit to think there is some great conspiracy, or that some of the people are all buddy-buddy. I also know that some of the same people who swear I and others are the devil, when talking to you, turn right around and lay the verbal smack down about you when they talk to the very 'villans' that you defend the board from.

Is there things that are allowed that might not should be? I'm sure there is. Are there things that some people don't like? Absolutely. Are you going to make everybody happy? Absolutely NOT. Some people see only the things that affect them or people they like as bad, but when its about someone else, its all fair game.

If you think I'm wrong in any aspect of that, please elaborate.

Its also been told multiple times if someone has a problem with someone, post a link to the thread. The 'horrible things' is nice and those who say it MAY have a point but that also can be lies deceit or interpretation. I don't read every post, every thread and I wouldn't expect anybody to do that.

Oh sure, I could change a setting on the board, and no posts would ever appear unless we approved them. Wow that would make for one exciting board, better hope that several of us are not busy, or there would be no board activity for hours or whatever.

Are there some generally good informative posters who sometimes go off for no reason, snipe at other peoples comments, ridicule those that they disagree with, etc, but guess what, I know that in your mind you don't do that, but you would be shocked I dare think what others think about some of your posts that are informative. Do I wish that we could all always make great posts that were informative, didn't offend anybody, were fully complimentary to others, even if we disagreed and everything was perfect? Sure I do, but that's never going to happen.

I know that people may gripe about snipes or what not, but people gripe about your posts, my posts, etc.

The same group that may have a problem with the group he's talking about, is no bigger than that group. It's best just not worry about how others conduct themselves and just get out of this place what you can. I can't control how Notsosilentbob acts, and he can't control what I do or say. There are lots of things on here that I don't like, like the whole racism garbage that went on about a month ago. I acted like a psychopath, but it didn't get me anywhere. It did in a way make me feel like I'd stood up for something I believed in, even if I went about it in a foolish way. You're best off just to not have any really expectations with this place. I don't know how Retired Teach traverses the waters of this place the way he does. I know there are things that have to get to him, but he never shows it. He's probably the only one that I can say that about. Obviously, he's got a stronger jaw and can take a punch a lot better than I. I don't know if I can think of one other individual on here who hasn't made a total a s s of themselves.

When did the forum turn into we have to get forgiveness. The man messed up. Many knew it and many knew what happened. But the Ely kid would not let up and he won't. It's his way of doing things.

I'm just a little fed up with some. You have had child molesters. Drug users and thieves on here. Some which still are. Their identities may not be out. And the other is why does Rocketer play it both ways. Some say Fred says no flaming of players or coaches. But then allows a post like the one on Coach Godsey.

Honestly Brad it seems like it's a 15 person forum anymore. If your not in the group. You have no reason to speak. And if you do you will try to be humiliated or something brought up.

You wanted to know that is some of what is bothering not only me. But many. Look at for yourself. The usual posters is about all you have. Or at least that post regular.

I may be embrassing myself. But i am speaking for more than just me. It's one reason many have left. They couldn't say anything.

Let me try to shed some light on what I'm seeing on the forum as of right now...

We had a major influx of new people who didn't realize board etiquette, and what to take seriously and what to let go. Most of those are now banned or they have adjusted well enough to stay on here and hopefully become positive contributors to the forums. Let me take some of your grievances piece by piece:

The situation with Don Swiney/Centennial & Darrell Dingus-Ely/PVFAN is one where both sides are majorly at fault, and I've called them both on it when it all flared up before yesterday. I actually said the next time either one of their personal grievances were aired on open forum, that they would both be banned, no questions asked. I should have followed through on that despite the fact that I feel they're both valuable posters in their own right. Don wouldn't let up on judging Darrell's short-comings as far as gambling and some of his political viewpoints (and I like DJ, but he joined in there for a little while as well). Darrell in retaliation of that brought up what Don had done in the past and held it over his head, which was wrong as well. It's the old saying playing out here on the board: "Two wrongs don't make a right". I realize you're defending Don because he's a friend, but then again, wasn't Darrell doing the same thing with a lot of the kids that Don was calling out by name when the whole PV party fiasco went down? I'm not defending either one of them, because they were both wrong, but it's not "Don's a fallen angel who's paid his dues and Darrell's a ignorant young man who thinks he knows it all" as all of your recent posts have painted it.

As for the dregs of society posting on here, we have child molesters, drug users/dealers, theives, and our fair share of drunks on here posting daily. If we tried to make this forum the forum of the sinless, then we wouldn't have more than 0 members. Until they get locked away and put into prison--Rock, myself, nor any other mod/admin can keep them from posting as a registered user. It's kind of a moot point that you keep bringing up. Frankly, if for instance we banned Burrhead for his drug use/dealing (which isn't 100% proven), then we'd have to ban you for what a lot of people have told me about yourself--that you drink WAY too much, then get on here and post while you're blitzed--but both of those are rumor. However, that'd be a double-standard, and neither myself nor any other mod/admin is going to apply something like that on purpose.

The Godsey situation consists of a lot of threads discussing what has been in the papers. Sure you've seen some guys get on here and say some disparaging things about the man, but one thing I had to keep in mind is that NO ONE on here knew all the facts and probably still doesn't know all there is to know about the situation. Lots of people said some stupid things out of pure ignorance, and that's why the more vociferous things were deleted and those posters either warned or banned. You've got to remember--even if you don't see it, we have the ability to PM and warn people about things, and that was done in that situation. The sticky that Rock put up about Godsey was to knock down a lot of of the foolishness that I personally had to ban about 4-5 posters over for a week or more after numerous warnings via PM. NONE of the mods/admins like to do that, but we will do it if anyone's detracting from the board. The Godsey situation was a highly delicate situation, and flaming happened at first, but we can't lord over every post and weigh it and measure it and then drop the hatchet right then...we have to take into account the entire situation, who the poster is (new or established), and whether or not they actually know what they're talking about.

You're painting things like Godsey was the lamb brought to the slaughter known as the LPD Forum. Rock and I along w/the rest of the admins/mods allowed open discussion on it for a while until it got ridiculous, then we took action. We haven't taken a stance for/against Godsey--but we've tried to give a place for people to voice their opinion one way or the other on the given situation, good or bad given what is known. That's all we can do and that's all this forum is for.

As for the whole clique thing, sure--there's posters on here that I'm very good friends with (i.e.--burton2019, mega, knight67, Ironlung, yourself, Rock, Counts, 1inStripes, The_Beast, NotSoSilentBob, Indian_Dad, elp6n, PVFAN, Biggin, vthokie22, etc...), but all of them know (you included) that if you step over thhe line, I'm gonna call you on it. If it's not a positive contribution to the board, then it's not going to belong here. I've had to come an ace of banning more than 1 of those that I named just in the time I've been a mod. Lots of them I've disagreed with, but yes--they will get some more slack from me as a mod because I understand how they think and the intent behind their posts a lot better. If I didn't know you Bobby--dead honest--you would have gotten banned for your comments towards posters like Rock & PVFAN, because you kept pressing a situation and calling people out for things they weren't even doing--and ultimately contributing in a negative manner to the board. But guess what...I didn't, because I wanted to see what was bugging you because you're a longtime member of the board. So if it's a "clique" mentality you're complaining about, maybe you shouldn't be complaining so hard because if we didn't know each other, and I based what I know about you just off of yesterday's posts, then you would have been gone for negative influences on the board (making unfound judgements about moderation style, baiting another poster into an argument on open forum instead of taking it to PM's, etc.). Count your lucky stars Bobby--don't take that for granted that sometimes you just know the right people, and that gets you that 2nd or 3rd chance when you do something wrong.

Also, if other posters like Sportsman have a problem--then they need to voice it in a complete manner to me via PM, and I've PROMISED since day one I became a mod to help posters out, whether I agree or disagree with them. Why? Because I want relatively free exchange of ideas on this board that everyone can enjoy. If someone's not enjoying it, let's hear why and maybe a way can be figured out to fix it.

Bottom line is this--I think given the hectic circumstances that have come up with some controversial subjects in the past year that Rock, Counts, myself, and some other of the mods have done a [censored] good job at keeping the board a positive place and an informative place on not just LPD sports, but world issues, local issues, religious/political issues, major/college sports issues, and everything inbetween. I'm proud of what we've done so far, but if there's anything we can do to improve--let us have it. Here's your chance--you and anyone else tell me what you think needs to be fixed and we'll do it.

Well if what PVFAN has done for a year or more can be justified that is fine.
You also wasn't here when Jim, Rocketer and Counts left for six months or so, when an article hit the Richmond Times. Yeah i know it is to be no big deal. But me and several others got hung out.

As far as how i have done lately. It's indirect relations to how the board is going.
You can't have a conversation without others destroying it. Just like me entering the one where me and DD had words.
Then you have Bob, who honestly is filthy at best. And says things that are a bit unneeded on a sports forum.
Burton2019 well he jumps into every one's business and tries to protray himself as a saint. Yet always tries to embrass anyone who says anything to him. And some of the avatars.
mega and biggin. Every other sentence they post is full of cussing and censors.
And as far as what i said to DD it is the truth. The young man tries to crusade and just taunt people into saying something. Even trying to speak on things he had no proof of. And i know who the person was he was talking about. It was a former moderator, who lost their cool, and called me out.
Tell me Brad when did we all have to just follow the rules or the programs of those you listed.
I don't count myself better than anyone. And i have had many ask me why is all this allowed.
I've had folks ask me why do you let them make acqusations toward you.
On the first one. I say it's up to the moderators to correct how things are done and what is and is not alowed.
On the second i tell folks i get on here and some times act like the majority. Rude, Crude and obnixious. I left out the cussing and nasty stuff.
Now you see things how you want. And i see them from what i see and what i hear from many.
In fact i got PM's last night from folks who pointed out almost everyone you mentioned, except for 4 people as being the major problem with this forum.
Folks dont' say alot. They just get disgusted and leave. And some don't even make it past their first post.
You are right on some things Brad. But also there is some cleaning up and honestly some talk that needs to go on, between those who are in some of the cliques.

Now instead of taking this wrong and getting defensive. Step back and look and see how far off i am. About a few of those who post and what they say and how they act. Is that what a forum for children should have. I know some don't have access to all the forums. But at times they dont' need to.
There is a lot that goes on. That well disgust many. Many just leave. If that is what is wanted. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a room in yahoo chat. Then to pay for a forum that has become very similiar to a yahoo chat room.
You wanted to know. So that is what i see and many others see also. Many don't say a word. Because they see it as a clique and if they do or they respond back to someone, they feel they will be ban.
Like i said. Step back and examine it and see. And ask yourself this. If i had a teen would i let them even read the sports and nonsports forum on here.

I'm not defending either one of them, because they were both wrong, but it's not "Don's a fallen angel who's paid his dues and Darrell's a ignorant young man who thinks he knows it all" as all of your recent posts have painted it.

As for the dregs of society posting on here, we have child molesters, drug users/dealers, theives, and our fair share of drunks on here posting daily. If we tried to make this forum the forum of the sinless, then we wouldn't have more than 0 members. Until they get locked away and put into prison--Rock, myself, nor any other mod/admin can keep them from posting as a registered user. It's kind of a moot point that you keep bringing up. Frankly, if for instance we banned Burrhead for his drug use/dealing (which isn't 100% proven), then we'd have to ban you for what a lot of people have told me about yourself--that you drink WAY too much, then get on here and post while you're blitzed--but both of those are rumor. However, that'd be a double-standard, and neither myself nor any other mod/admin is going to apply something like that on purpose.

The Godsey situation consists of a lot of threads discussing what has been in the papers. Sure you've seen some guys get on here and say some disparaging things about the man, but one thing I had to keep in mind is that NO ONE on here knew all the facts and probably still doesn't know all there is to know about the situation. Lots of people said some stupid things out of pure ignorance, and that's why the more vociferous things were deleted and those posters either warned or banned. You've got to remember--even if you don't see it, we have the ability to PM and warn people about things, and that was done in that situation. The sticky that Rock put up about Godsey was to knock down a lot of of the foolishness that I personally had to ban about 4-5 posters over for a week or more after numerous warnings via PM. NONE of the mods/admins like to do that, but we will do it if anyone's detracting from the board. The Godsey situation was a highly delicate situation, and flaming happened at first, but we can't lord over every post and weigh it and measure it and then drop the hatchet right then...we have to take into account the entire situation, who the poster is (new or established), and whether or not they actually know what they're talking about.

You're painting things like Godsey was the lamb brought to the slaughter known as the LPD Forum. Rock and I along w/the rest of the admins/mods allowed open discussion on it for a while until it got ridiculous, then we took action. We haven't taken a stance for/against Godsey--but we've tried to give a place for people to voice their opinion one way or the other on the given situation, good or bad given what is known. That's all we can do and that's all this forum is for.

As for the whole clique thing, sure--there's posters on here that I'm very good friends with (i.e.--burton2019, mega, knight67, Ironlung, yourself, Rock, Counts, 1inStripes, The_Beast, NotSoSilentBob, Indian_Dad, elp6n, PVFAN, Biggin, vthokie22, etc...), but all of them know (you included) that if you step over thhe line, I'm gonna call you on it. If it's not a positive contribution to the board, then it's not going to belong here. I've had to come an ace of banning more than 1 of those that I named just in the time I've been a mod. Lots of them I've disagreed with, but yes--they will get some more slack from me as a mod because I understand how they think and the intent behind their posts a lot better. If I didn't know you Bobby--dead honest--you would have gotten banned for your comments towards posters like Rock & PVFAN, because you kept pressing a situation and calling people out for things they weren't even doing--and ultimately contributing in a negative manner to the board. But guess what...I didn't, because I wanted to see what was bugging you because you're a longtime member of the board. So if it's a "clique" mentality you're complaining about, maybe you shouldn't be complaining so hard because if we didn't know each other, and I based what I know about you just off of yesterday's posts, then you would have been gone for negative influences on the board (making unfound judgements about moderation style, baiting another poster into an argument on open forum instead of taking it to PM's, etc.). Count your lucky stars Bobby--don't take that for granted that sometimes you just know the right people, and that gets you that 2nd or 3rd chance when you do something wrong.

Also, if other posters like Sportsman have a problem--then they need to voice it in a complete manner to me via PM, and I've PROMISED since day one I became a mod to help posters out, whether I agree or disagree with them. Why? Because I want relatively free exchange of ideas on this board that everyone can enjoy. If someone's not enjoying it, let's hear why and maybe a way can be figured out to fix it.

Bottom line is this--I think given the hectic circumstances that have come up with some controversial subjects in the past year that Rock, Counts, myself, and some other of the mods have done a [censored] good job at keeping the board a positive place and an informative place on not just LPD sports, but world issues, local issues, religious/political issues, major/college sports issues, and everything inbetween. I'm proud of what we've done so far, but if there's anything we can do to improve--let us have it. Here's your chance--you and anyone else tell me what you think needs to be fixed and we'll do it.

Well if what PVFAN has done for a year or more can be justified that is fine.
You also wasn't here when Jim, Rocketer and Counts left for six months or so, when an article hit the Richmond Times. Yeah i know it is to be no big deal. But me and several others got hung out.

As far as how i have done lately. It's indirect relations to how the board is going.

Burton2019 well he jumps into every one's business and tries to protray himself as a saint. Yet always tries to embrass anyone who says anything to him. And some of the avatars.
mega and biggin. Every other sentence they post is full of cussing and censors.
And as far as what i said to DD it is the truth. The young man tries to crusade and just taunt people into saying something. Even trying to speak on things he had no proof of. And i know who the person was he was talking about. It was a former moderator, who lost their cool, and called me out.
Tell me Brad when did we all have to just follow the rules or the programs of those you listed.
I don't count myself better than anyone. And i have had many ask me why is all this allowed.
I've had folks ask me why do you let them make acqusations toward you.
On the first one. I say it's up to the moderators to correct how things are done and what is and is not alowed.
On the second i tell folks i get on here and some times act like the majority. Rude, Crude and obnixious. I left out the cussing and nasty stuff.
Now you see things how you want. And i see them from what i see and what i hear from many.
In fact i got PM's last night from folks who pointed out almost everyone you mentioned, except for 4 people as being the major problem with this forum.
Folks dont' say alot. They just get disgusted and leave. And some don't even make it past their first post.

What do you want them to do with all of the people with DUI's, Drug Dealers, Pedophiles, ect on here? Should you have to send in an application? Should they have to get references? As for "What click do you have to be in to post on here." Who's stopping someone from posting? PVFan shouldn't have held something over someone elses head that he had over them. I don't think anyone is arguing that. As for people leaving, it happens all of the time. People get pissed at what others put on here, they get bored with it, they just find something else better to do. Like I said earlier, everyone gets something different out of it. Some like to instigate fights for no reason, some like to make bogus accounts of wrestlers, bands, and other things. I'm just on here to talk about sports, music, and movies. That's about it.
