Pound Job?

Any new word on the Pound coaching job? I heard a new name thrown out there today (Mind you that this person was brought up before but had not got alot of talk) Crabtree (coached at Ervinton last season and moved to Texas but looks like he may be comming back)

Again whether this is true or not remains to be seen but with the Job he did at Ervinton to would do a GREAT job at Pound

That would be a good fit for Pound.

Does anyone know who will be Ervintons coach also?

I heard that the current baseball coach is taking the football job for Ervington.

The only real problem is that whoever gets the Job will be getting a very LATE start and from what I am hearing Pound players are heading to PV and Wise in droves

I have a question, since Travis Turner finally passed his praxis, will he take the reigns over again at Appy, or will Austin continue on.

Who is there baseball coach?

I did not know that.....It would not suprise me BUT Austin did not do a bad job last year and should have the opertunity to continue if that is what he wants to do

True, Turner had his chance. No reason at all to get rid of Austin

crabtree would an excellent choice for Pound! The only holdback is the support of the coaches in pound. The parents and community NEED to stand by their coaches instead of WHINNING so much! No offense to the kids at pound because they can't help what the adults do. Anyway, Crabtree would not onlt do a great job as a coach but also be a very positive role model for these young men.

I think he is in the running along with the guy from Letcher County though I believe (sort of the top choices from what I have heard). I can't remember his name.

Who are all the kids that are leaving? Strouth going to Wise was an obvious one. Who else is leaving?

Some have transferred to PV, don't know how many yet.

The coach from Letcher Co. is the one who won all the state titles at Pikeville back in the day.

Oh okay. I remember seeing some Pikeville films when I was in high school if I am not mistaken. I believe when we played Cumberland and they were real good they had faced Pikeville the year before or something and we watched that tape.

Not hearing alot of names (Other that Cantrell to PV) just that there were alot going and that Pound may end up with a new coach but without enough kids to field a team (Now that was probably a tonge-in-cheek comment but it still sounds like a less than idea situation)

A friend of mine who works at PHS said that the guy from LCC has 0 chance of getting the job.

Travis did pass his exam, however Austin will remain the headcoach. Travis will continue to be an assistant coach.

That is good, Austin deserves it.

What about the PHS volleyball job?

Coach Crabtree is a good coach, however, Pound had a good coach

Oh I am not ripping Jason BUT he has desided to move on and Crabtree was able to turn Ervinton around (I know the CD is not the LPD but still leading them to a district championship was very impressave) Crabtree will be playing stiffer comptetion week in and week out at Pound but he would probably have more talent there to work with

The new football coach at Pound will officially start Monday.
IMO it is Mr.Crabtree. I do know that whoever got it went to the championships. As told to me by a teacher at Pound.
Jason Mullins is at Wise with the football program and so is a guy who helped coach Norton's Offensive linemen.

As far as the volleyball coach at Pound, I have no idea.

My son Chris is, but I don't know of any more that are.

Dang Clintwood needs to get on the ball with there recruting (I feel like we are getting left out LOL)

I think Clintwood will be the one to watch out for this year.
They have really impressed me the past 2 years and I believe they will give PV and Norton both the best games in the LPD.

Norton's line coach is Rocky Baker. The guy that is going to Wise is from a couple of years ago. Why wouldn't strouth want to go to Norton or Clintwood? Why Wise?

and with Chris transferring to Wise will hurt Pound alot, he is prolly the best football player returning

Richie Deel is Ervintons head football coach. He was an assistant to Crabtree before he left.

The guy from norton is prolly Coach Bentley,which coached the lineman,but he didnt coach last year,we do have a coach that was let go this year and that is Coach Puckett.

Dakota Cantrell moved to Big Stone from Pound.

Any Pound players that wanna transfer to Clintwood, come on over.

I wish Chris and a few of the others would.

Ritchie Deel is coaching Ervinton this year. Excellent guy, it will definately be a tough challenge for him.
