My weekend was spent at SH Lake. Got to be on TV if you looked close. Brother in law was on the news, and my daughter was as well playing in a blowup pool. (I still can't figure out why she gets all the blowup toys) Took my nephews fishing, and kicking back laughing at morons run around the lake.

Yep, a eagle with his head up his ass fits quite well...;)

If it wasn't the Eagles tail it would look even better. It looks like it talking you to with a finger pointing it at ya.

Thought y'all were heading to Hungry Mother. We are gonna ride up there after church Sunday with mom and dad to look around and check out the lake.

It's a good little trip. Takes about 2 hours to get to Boone via Damascus/Mountain City.

That is if you don't forget your camper keys at home and make it to Abingdon before remembering.]

Wanted to do Hungry Mother, but they had no full hookup sites available on Friday night.

Just as well as we found a nice one in Boone and will be going back.

You should have just came over to Ob Knob with us Friday then man. It was free, and when you realized you forgot your keys, dropped the camper off, and brought your boat back with you to fish.

Should have been like John Mellancamp and dropped that Cougar.

We made that trip to Boone a few weeks back with my dad and F-I-L. We were looking for some log home places dad was telling us were over that way and just out for a drive.

Not going to Hungry Mother today, dad and Angi not feeling to well. Thinking of headin to the lake this evenin, Angi may or may not go want to go if she doesn't or for that matter even if she does.

Which lake? If you do go, stop by the house, I might be inclined to go although I'm cleaning house & camper today.

Clean, pretty quiet at night, great bath house (very very hot showers). We stayed at site A31.

Within 10 minutes of downtown Boone, 20 minutes from Blowing Rock and Tweetsie Railroad, 30 minutes from Grandfather Mountain.

Ate at a nice Italian place on Friday night, Pssghettis. Pricey, but damn good food. The caprese was absolutely wonderful, as was the calimari and carpaccio.

And Boone is only about 2 hours away from Wise Co. If not for the hippies, it could be the perfect destination.

I may have to load up and head down there sometime. Kacy has been talking about Tweetsie and such here lately.

My in-laws took my neice and nephew down there a couple of weeks ago. They had a ball.

But they're 5 and 3.

There are a lot of places I'd like to go this summer/fall.
Emerald Pointe, North Carolina Zoo, Williamsburg, some hiking, etc.

Better do it this year since they are closing Tweetsie after this season.

thanks for the heads up on that. Probably will then. I was hoping to go later when Olivia might like it better, but I guess she wouldn't like it when its closed.

We drove by there a few weeks back when we were over there like I said earlier. I can't believe how much that place and the area surrounding it has grown. I remember when I was a kid going to Tweetsie and it was out in the middle of nowhere now it has a four-lane highway right in front of it and town has stretced out to it.

Boone/Blowing Rock is turning into the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg of western NC.

Did you catch any fish on the mighty Holston Stripes?

Did not do any fishing this time. We had the kids down tubbing and jet skiing.

I just took the nephews out onto the pier and let them catch some bluegills. 36 worms gone in probably 45 minutes. Bandit bluegills!

Did some blue gilling myself yeaterday with the 2 year old coussin....

The "toning" business has been claimed by several shoe brands before, but I don't put a whole lot of stock in that. You may feel a little difference I'd guess.
Not many shoes can recreate a 'natural gait' but they can be comfy regardless.

Those look interesting. I'm looking for a pair of flops that won't kill my knees while standing in the boat for 8 hours or just walking around.
