Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
What Are MMA Fights??? is it anything like UFC
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Yeh mixed martial arts. The ring styles dependson the company doing the fights.
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
It will be held in an octagon with basically the same rules as the current UFC.
I don't know Mike Gracia but if he is a member of team Ironlock then there is a very good chance that he is from Lee county, and wrestlers often tend to do well in MMA. I'd bet they are the same person....

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Don't know his age or if he played at (probably did), but he was a coach for Lee High this past season.

Interesting.
I know that former Coeburn wrestling coach Shane Adkins trained with Team FAST and fought at least one MMA fight (he won in a matter of seconds).

Yeah I wasn't there for that fight, but from what people tell me, Shane made short work of his opponent, didn't have a scratch on him either when his hand was raised. Wish he would have fought more.

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Shane also tapped me the first time we ever rolled (grappled). I was much more careful with him from then on

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Just got back. It went well for a first show. It's a brand new promotion and as will happen with inexperienced people running the show there were a few glitches. Started almost an hour late for instance.
Very entertaining fights with the Yeary boys from Pennington really putting on a show. I had very little to do as none of the 11 fights went the distance.

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Was there a good turnout?
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
can you post the results?
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Turnout was about what they expected for a first show. Not sure about the numbers but there were more people there than were at the first Kentucky Fighting Challenge in Lexington Ky. which is now a huge event.
I heard that they did cover all expenses.
I will probably be able to get full results in about a day.
If there is a particular fight or fights that anyone wants to know about I can probably remember it.

My good friend and co-worker Eddie Trotter's company Gladiator Fighting Championship is going to be putting on another awesome show on July 7 at Jenkins High School. You get more bang for your buck at his shows, and I encourage all to attend. Stop by and say hello to us if you can (will be providing security detail for this event)

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
former Coeburn wrestler Adam "Hitman" Mays will be having his pro debut that weekend. There will also be a few more from Team FAST fighting.
Also, this weekend in Cincy Eddie Trotter's brother Anthony Trotter will be facing Solomon Hutcherson (from the Ultimate Fighter) at the Cincy Garden Center!
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Talked to Mays the other day. He's stoked about it. Trotter is on cloud 9 about the Cincy fight too.
-
Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
Yeah, I get to train with Mays and sometimes with Trotter. Both great guys, and great atheletes. MMA is probably the greatest thing since sliced bread. HaHa
It's too bad, I'll be outta town that weekend. Going to SoCal to try and pull in some sponsors and such for my bro ridin motorcross and some fighting stuff. Fun Fun.
You will have to keep me updated on the fights. I'll drop u my cell or something, and txt em or call.

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
This being Jason's first show things didn't always go as planned. This often happens the first show or two that a promotion has. I cornered Jason and Bobby (team FAST coach) at the first ever Kentucky Fighting Challenge and they had about the same problems right down to starting late. The show will only get better.
I hope to be at the Jenkins fights but not sure yet.

Hey steer, Any change of plans as far as this Saturday goes? If you can't make it, i'll shoot some pics to you as well as recaps through my cell phone if I get the chance. The show should be a doozy. There's a slew of us going, and I am looking forward to helping Eddie out. Get there early folks. There's going to be a nice crowd with the loaded card.

Re: MMA Fights At Lee High June 16
I know very little about MMA, I did go watch the fights over in Abingdon Ruckus in the Cage. It was a pretty good time, comical at times with them calling certain fights grudge matches and what not. One of my girlfriends friends from high school was fighting, made it fun to actually know somebody in it.

I hate it when small promotions feel like they have to add a pro wrestling "heat" gimmick to the fights. I also saw a worked fight on one local card. Meaning that it wasn't a real contest, the two fighters staged a match, absolutely disgraceful. In that case the promotion (GFC) had mothing to do with the "work", the fighters later admitted that it was their own idea. A very bad one at that.
