I heard from a friend tonight a former athlete at Powell Valley overdosed on morphine.
They had his funeral tonight.
Can anyone state this as a fact? Sorry if this is a report.
I think the guy I am thinking of was an offensive lineman and graduated around 2002.
I noticed Brent Ball's name in the obits today. Its sad that people allow drugs to take over their life. I do not know the cause of death, but I do know I have seen his name in the paper a couple of times for possession of different things.
I think it might be true. Biggin' posted a comment on his myspace page about losing a friend. I'm guessing it's the same person.

Brent played p-nut with my older son, spent the night here once as a kid.
Really sad.....
I'll never forget the time we played Patrick Henry in a scrimmage and they had this huge fullback. First play of the scrimmage Brent and this guy met, needless to say Brent Ball won.
The family was having a hard time raising money for the funeral...that I know. I stopped by and gave a check to the grandmother, well left it there with my daughter's friend (a cousin of his) Very very sad condolenscence to the family
