No class at all!

Congratulation's to Norton and Powell Valley for a game that was all it was hyped up to be.

With that said congratualtions to J.I. Burton fans for making a ass of themselves after the game and running their slack jaw as only trash can. If you went on the field and congratulated both teams well this should not offend you. If you did like most and run your mouth at the players from the stands and also to other fans going to the parking lot. Well this is to you, it has been said before and i guess it still stands " You can take a person from trash... but you can't take the trash out of the person."

Rednecks like that will ruin anything. Congrats to both teams for a well played game.

Jimbo Adams would have won this game with either team. No doubt in my mind. He is the best coach I have seen in this area in quite a while. Congrats to Burton.

Very good game IMO....Glad I went to the park instead of Lebanon....heard a lot of stupid comments from the Norton fans and from the PV fans...and i'm curious as to how many "late hit" penalties PV had....but great game played tonight at the park, I thought PV had it, but they just broke down in the 3rd....and picked it back up in the 4th, but it wasn't enough....

I kinda giggled at Norton's sign that said something in the manner of "If we wanted a easier game we would ask your cheerleaders..."

I couldn't tell exactly what it said, as I had a bad angle to see it...and got to talk to Julius and Thomas's father and mother tonight as I stood beside them most of the night....two of the best ppl in the world to have a conversation with..

Them's good folks right there now, I tell ya. We could use a whole lot more folks like Thomas and Betty, and a lot less of the "trash" mentioned above...

I agree....Also seen a few friends I played against when i was in HS....Keith and Kelvin Davis, and Derrick Clark...Fun night as I said, much better game then I expected..

I can't say I'm surprised that Burton won, however, the method in which they won totally floored me.

I was at the Coeburn--Th. Walker game and didn't get to actually experience it, but when I heard that the score was first 20-6 and then 20-12 (they announced it), I was dumbfounded because I couldn't believe Powell Valley was actually holding them down.

By the time I left the game and was going home, on the radio I heard that Burton was actually in the lead and I was listening to the last few hectic seconds of the game in which Powell Valley tried numerous times to throw the ball in order for a hope for a last-second score that would give them the win.

I was shocked that Burton had come back when they were originally down 20-6, and the fact that it was such a close game (30-26) was crazy and I never expected something like that.

This is perhaps one of the worst choices I've ever made tonight because I missed out on what is probably the game of the year hands down.

Congratulations to both teams - I wasn't there, but I know that it was one heck of a slugfest from what I heard.

Your right there wont be a better game in this end of the state this year.

That's the sad side of athletics. All schools and all teams have them. They make everybody look bad. It's too bad people can't be as magnanimous in victory as well as defeat...

I usually don't post on things like this. But, last year I went to a few JIB games...and the fans do have an air about them that I don't see in as great numbers other places as I do there. But, as I was leaving tonight, the filth and trash coming from the whole first section of the visitors bleachers was sad....It wasn't just a few. It didn't bother me but I can see why some would be upset.

You actually went to a TW/Coeburn game? How dead is your little world.

It was Coeburn's homecoming and we went because I hadn't been to a Coeburn game this year.

Both sides played fairly sloppy.. Thomas Walker has one of the worst offenses I believe I've ever seen in my life. They couldn't run and their passes were generally miserably slow and wobbly and inaccurate. They had several interceptions and there was just no execution at all.

On Coeburn's side, it was the usual "run 10 times, pass once" philosophy that we've seen in the past few games and there were very few passes that were complete. They may have completed two or three passes the entire night from what I remember .. they ran the ball most of the time.

The final score - 14-6 (Coeburn winning) - speaks for itself. I almost fell asleep during the game.. it was like watching a P-Nut game because both sides couldn't move the ball anywhere. Definitely won't be going to any more of those ballgames this year.

I don't know why but winning seems to do this to people. I remeber they Jones years at PV and the same atitude in Wise( about baseball). I had a fan of PV once tell me that they felt sorry for their boys. It had been four years since they got a ring. I like Burton, but the fans have been spoiled by their success just ike others.

All schools have fans that make jacka$$es of themselves from time to time...but if you read my post, I said not in those numbers...lol...I just tried to make a decent post...I'm not whining about it cuz really, it didn't bother me...ut as I said, I can see why some would feel differently.

I sign off on that Omnibus. Some (not all) of their fans, are over-inflated now. When someone picks them in a close game, its like they desecrated the grave of a loved one. It doesn't seem to be the Norton players or coaches but as typical, some of the fans who ruin most good things.

LOL, I would have loved to see the "NO CHEATING" sign....lol

You know I'm leaving the stadium after the game and some elderly was leaving as I was. The lady says , and I quote "They 're just mad because we kicked their a**es . I just looked at her. I'm thinking you know this is just a game. Tomorrow morning some poor soul in a third world country will die of hunger. No you're right Rocketer, it's not all fans, but people need to put things in their proper perspective.

I've gotten to the point that I fully expect something bad to happen at a local game anytime.

I spoke to Coach Jim Huff, who was the PV coach who had a heart attack earlier this month. He said that one of the kids for PV had collapsed after the game. Does anybody know anything about this?

Ohh that's bad..I didn't want to laugh cause I was worried about the kid.I sure hope everything is ok with him.

Last game I went to Game at Bullit Park some kid got stabbed outside the gates when the game was over. It was a Kelly P.V Game had to be at least 6 or 7 yrs ago i guess

Derrick Clark was the one stabbed...funny this came up as him and I talked about this tonight..

snd I'm gonna say it was in 2002...maybe 2001..

I was thinking it was a clark kid. I can remerb it was a black kid and a white kid. The one that got stabbed was getting the best of the other.

PV's allways been homo's about stuff like that. They've made signs for us like " at least you'll be home for the holidays" and "had enough yet"

I think i had the biggest low blow though, last year in basketball, it was pure glory.

Yeah, I like norton, i cheer with them at the region d game against Cwood last year. They were all really nice people.

but i dont care for pv they can diaf. most of them anyway.

I don't deny that it happened. Burton fans are not any better.

i dont run my mouth were the class of the lpd and pv cant stand it.
