A couple of random observations....

First: Mike Hart is a hell of a player. I don't like Michigan, but that kid is a great college rb. He's not the fastest or the biggest but he plays so hard. He ran the ball 44 times today. He might be a flop as an NFL player, but I'd take him on my college team every day of the week.

Second: It's nauseating how when a certain team or teams have success and this board gets infested with 2-3 people every year that like to do nothing but talk smack and make total asses of themselves. This latest group from Norton are soooooooooo annoying. I know that the good folks from Norton (starbuck, UTVols2, etc) have nothing to do with this and I know they won't take it as a negative toward them, but I just wish that a few of them would just disappear. The same can be said for the 2-3 that have registered "from Kelly" the last couple of months. It kind of makes me glad that we (Clintwood) are only pretty good about once a decade. It's pointless to seriously try and discuss high school athletics on here on the main board.

You know how I pull for Clintwood, but God forbid if you go against the grain. I am forbidden to talk smack now and Betty Boop is sharpening her claws. You really find people out when the chips are down. We are missing something on this football team. I hope they find it this week. But as far as me and the board, I'm pretty much through.

As Lung said, I am from Norton and some of these guys are getting on my nerves. I have just quit reading anything on threads about Norton anymore. I think from now on if anyone wants to discuss anything in a mature manner we need to just do it over here. I apologize for some of these people, but anyone can talk smack behind a keyboard, not me just not my style. I talked to some players and coaches from both teams yesterday at the UVA-Wise game (BTW, one helluva game) and there take on the game was completely different that what fans saw it, it normally is. They were all very complimentary of each other and thought it was one of the hardest game they have ever played. I wish both the best of luck the rest of the year as all other LPD teams. I just hope some of these guys will go away, but whenever the next team makes a run you better believe they will start up, no matter where they are from.

I love to mix it up, but when you have adults who are blindsided by kelly green, it is best not to go against the grain. If there is not a big improvement this week, PV will beat us by 40 or more.

I don't think you're that far off on your assessment of Clintwood, burrhead. Their offensive line looks like Tarzan but has played like Jane the last couple of weeks. They've got a few kids that need to grow up and start coming on or they could be looking at 5-5.

UTvols2 and I were talking at some point during the game and just talking about how if you go to a college football game you usually get a lot of fun smack talk back and fourth between the fans which is not a bad thing at all as long as it doesnt resort to violence. If anything like that ever happend around here during high school games it would be fun too but its never going to happen because everyone is so sensitive and ready to fight. I had a couple of PV girls talking some ridiculous smack to me after the game and it made me laugh a little bit. Im not saying there arent bad fans out there, but I think everyone really lets things get to them. Unless you walked out of bullet park bloody the other night, there was no reason to be mad. I barely even clap during games, occasional high fives on big plays, but I understand everyone has a different personality and its untelling how offensive some people can get and how offended some people can get even when they shouldnt be.

I know next year, PV will probably run us into the ground and the same type of stuff could go on here forever. If people havent noticed, the sportsmanship on the field was terrific. I think the fans could learn a little bit from the players and we are talking about the same players who share some bad blood as a result of a summer incident.

I dont think it was a game for the ages. The game had a somewhat exciting ending but the game left a lot to be desired in terms of compaing it to past games.

UT and I were also talking about other parts of the country and how big football is. Youd swear there were no good teams on the face of the earth outside the lpd. Im sick and tired of hearing about last years state title game too, this is a new season and the boo hoo'ing needs to end. I could go on and on, but when it comes down to it, Allen Iverson says, "we talkin bout a football game". Youd think the Nazi's had in invaded Czechoslovakia again. This place is a warzone.

No Burrhead, nobody is pretending that all is well and fine. It's pretty obvious what the problems was, but sitting there downing them on the main board is pretty much worthless. Question for you Burrhead, how did Ralph treat wins and losses? When did the players get chewed more, after a win, or after a loss? I'll answer that for you, he said they needed a pat on the back after a loss, not a kick in the butt. They feel bad enough then. It's after a win that you're critical and find the things they need to improve on. It's called keeping an even keel, not too high, not too low. If you don't agree, go ask Ralph himself, ask Bill Castle, ask Rick, ask any of them. Ironlung is right, the biggest problem has been offensive line the last few weeks. About everybody knows that, and if you want to discuss it over here, in an adult manner, that's fine. If you want to go on there and post where you know that several players read it, then try to do so in a more 'positive way'. When we win, I almost always mention something that we need to work on. When we lose, I tend to not say much. Not that I don't have stuff to say, but I'm trying to avoid being critical of kids. You should try that sometime. I'm sure that you've sat around and talked with coaches, former coaches or what not and when they are talking to you, they may say more of what their opinions are. "So and so is sorry", "So and So is horrible", but do they go where the players are and say that? That's the difference and something you can't seem to grasp.

Sometimes it takes a little negativity for someone to stand up and say, gosh we are playing terrible. Never lost a game with coach Cummins for lack of effort or emotion. I know times are different, and please don't tell me what I can and can't grasp. Be positve when there is something to be positive about, but try to correct the bad things. Freddy, right now I'm worried that Wise will beat us. We're looking at 4-6.

I don't really agree with sugar coating things either. I don't think anyone is really throwing players under the bus or pointing at any 1,2, or 3 people in particular either. If the team plays like dogshit, like they have the last couple of weeks, there's no reason not to say so. If burrhead or anyone else saying so on a message board is the first person to let them in on that fact and it's something they couldn't figure out for themselves, they need to find a new sport to play. The teams I played on had about half the talent that what Clintwood's team has now. We played against teams that were 5 times what they're playing today. We never had an offensive outing as pathetic as Clintwood has had the last two weeks.

I agree with Lung, I have a feeling that Burrhead probably isnt the first person to tell them they are playing like poop either. If they can make it through two-a-days and things like that, they can stand a little ridicule from the fans.

They lost 1 linemen and that's it. They played great the first two games. I know that the competition has been better the last two weeks, but you can see it's partly an effort problem, maybe a focus problem, and missing Robinson two weeks ago and him maybe not being at 100% still on Friday had something to do with it. I think they'll play much better this Friday night. If they don't it could be the start of a long slide.

Call me crazy but if they have last years form for friday night, they can win. PV has to be somewhat beat up, that was a physical game the other night. PV did look good but Burton didnt play their best game by any stretch of the imagination. As I expect Clintwood to give Burton a good game, I expect them to give PV a good game.....unless they have regressed to the point of not being able to turn it around.

LPD Football is def not what it used to be, I really expect PV and JIB to lose in the state title game. Neither team has enough lineman to matchup with any team on the other end of the state, I'd say Franklin over JIB and Goochland over PV. JIB obviously has a much easier road, I'd be totally shocked if the Raiders didn't make it again, PV has to get through a very tough Lebanon team and Giles/GW. What amazed me more than anything about the PV/JIB game was the amount of penetration PV could get on JIB, I really didn't expect to see that. JIB may be in for another Riverheads situation up state, just pound it out on them, if PV gets there there getting run off the field, I see no way they can stop Goochland or Gretna.

The O-Line is having some problems IMHO they were just out maned vs Vol but vs Leb I just do not have an answer they pulled one guy and plugged in a new stater and he looked just as bad as the 1st starter.

It is my opinion that Clintwood may have to go into more of a straight power offence and hit Iso's and Dives hard (The Line seems to block that well and Clintwood moved the ball vs Leb when they did just that) the problem vs Leb was mainly on the counters and the Play action where a 2nd and 4 or 5 would turn into a 3rd and 12

On D call me crazy but I think Clintwood played pretty well until the 4th qtr Lebanon's entire offence was 2 long plays and the D game the O several chances in the 3rd but if you keep giving a team with that talent chances they will make you pay for it.

I am not sure how Clintwood will react after this loss the big thing to remember is that last season Clintwood started the year 2-2 as well and IMHO the 2 teams they have lost to this year are better than the 2 that they lost to last season.

I think PV presents some match up problem for Clintwood but Clintwood presents some problems for PV as well I look for this to be a pretty dang good game between 2 very good 2-2 teams

LeRoy is Reggie and Boo Sensebaugh's brother.

Their sister is Valerie Coleman who is the mother of Jaz, Jacob, Jay, and Jeremy.

Lorenzo's father is a guy named Frankie Mitchell. Why he didnt inherit his fathers name I do not know. Lorenzo's mother is Evie Miles who is another sister of Reggie and Boo I believe.

Their family is pretty spread out as you can see. Malik Miles is the next athlete in the family who will be very good. He plays JV now I believe and his mother is Michelle Miles, father is the former Burton basketball player Videl Ellis.

All of that was true. Their offense at the mid point of the season was the worst it's been in the 20 + years I've watched them play. They were hideous. Amazing what a few personel moves will do.
