I officially hate UPS now. Vent.

I officially <span style='font-family: Arial Black'>hate</span> UPS now.

At the end of Sept. I ordered some items from Collections, Etc.
I thought surely they were coming soon, so I checked the tracking on it this evening. They said it was delivered 3 days ago! Contrary to what they say, we didn't get the package.

I called UPS (twice) and was told it was delivered to "man in yard." They never even came to our door! There's always someone home at that hour. Who the heck is this 'man in yard'!?! No signature, no ID, no "are you Elissa Powers" just "here - here's a package. enjoy." I know they didn't give it to our closest neighbor either - that's my sister's house.

And why would someone take a package that didn't belong to them. It had MY name on it! At times like this I really hate this drugged out neighborhood. I hope it really pissed this person off when they opened it and only found 3 dog beds. Can't buy much crack with that.

After phone calls UPS would NOT take a complaint, they said I had to go back to Collections, Etc. to launch an investigation.

I called Collections, Etc. and they proceeded to tell me that my package had already been delivered. I said "yeah, that's the problem, I didn't get it" and told them all UPS told me. Supposedly they're launching an investigation, which will take 10 business days.

This is complete BS. We'll never see that package(just like previous packages that were supposedly delivered to us by UPS but we never recieved). I thought that since every one of our old neighbors had moved since the last time I had a package stolen, that this time would be different (I had been having stuff sent to work). Boy was I wrong.

I am ticked.

UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries in this area are pathetic.

I don't know how many times I've seen the UPS or FedEx guy throw stuff on my porch and run away.

Then you've got the USPS twatwaffles who try to put a large box into a small mailbox. Or leave a 36" cardboard tube sticking out of a box that is only 18" deep...in the rain.

We never have the same mailman, which is part of the problem. I sometimes wonder just what the [censored] is going on in the Coeburn PO. Had my mail held last year when we went on vacation. Come home to find the box stuffed full of mail, including a couple of prescriptions. They excused it by saying that it must have been a carrier who didn't see the hold order. Caught one woman trying to shove a box full of reels into my mailbox instead of walking the 20 yards to my porch.

I don't know how often 'signature required' items have been left on my porch by UPS and FedEx.

I think there's also a shortage of delivery persons that can't tell the difference between "NE" and "SW" at the end of street addresses. That's one problem we get a lot.

One should be able to look at a mailbox that's properly marked and see that it doesn't say "SW" but does say "NE", so by default "SW" mail doesn't go there. "SW" mail is the other end of town.

The worst thing Ive had left on the porch was a guitar Id ordered, with a dog that thankfully decided not to chew through the cardboard box and eat it

Our neighbor brought over a package yesterday that UPS delivered to her instead bringing it here. Happens all the time.

I bought a CD on eBay on Sept. 5th. It was sent out by UPS on Sept. 6th.

I got it this past Thursday.

We use to have a mailman who would walk up and down the street talking on a cell phone the whole time. After he would get through with our street you could stand in the yard and watch as different people all up and down the street would take mail to their neighbors homes. Often even having to cross the street and go up several houses.

It was kind of entertaining but I'm still glad he's no longer working our area.

I think that guy might be at Norton. A guy that runs our mail is always on the phone.

Cell phone use by USPS delivery employees during working hours is prohibited. As for delivery to your porch, call the PO to be sure your 4232 card is checked that way. Some folks have no card on file, leaving the delivery of the item up to the discretion of the carrier.
There is no excuse for sloppy service if your mail is addressed correctly and your 4232 completed and properly marked. Your only recourse is to call your local office and speak to the postmaster about any problems you may be having. I take great pride in my service to my patrons, and have no tolerance for anyone who does not.

As for elp6n's problems with UPS, I've had very few problems with them in the last 30 years. If you did not receive the package you ordered, you are not required to pay for it and a refund should be forthcoming.

Cell phone use may be prohibited but it sure doesn't stop it. I see our current mailman on the phone occasionally too, but he never messes up the mail so it really isn't an issue with me.

The other kid (young guy) always messed up, I ain't kidding, we always had some of someone else's mail or someone else had some of your mail. I'd say at least 3 days a week.

Our street is pretty long, probably takes close to 20 minutes to go up it and back down. I made a point to watch him a couple of times, he never got off the phone the whole time.

I also saw him drop mail in peoples yards, including mine, on several occasions

UPS located the package.

The driver described where he went and described the people he handed the box to. It was our neighbors - about 40 yards from our house.

The kicker is, he asked them if it was their package and if this was the right address, and they said yes and took my package! (I have no reason to not believe this - having a hint of the type of people my neighbors are.)

The lady on the phone asked if I knew these people and I said "I'm sorry this is just the type of neighborhood where you dont get to know your neighbors."

So the driver is coming back, hopefully tomorrow, to go to the house to try to retrieve my package from them. I'd rather UPS be the one to try to retrieve it in the event they've used my stuff/damaged it/sold it, etc.

I have serious doubts as to whether or not they can get them back. $100 says their dirty old yard-pooping Boxer has been using the beds. And they probably are saturated with cigarette smoke by now.
