Co-workers...

Ugh. I know we all have at least one that makes our eye twitch.

I have one co-worker who uses words wrong ALL the time.
She uses words wrong with clients, with us, with carriers we work with.

Today's most commonly mis-used word:
Ideal.

"Do you have any ideals about that"
"Can you come up with any ideals"
"I just had an ideal"

I have corrected her in the past (it was just the type of situation where correction was necessary). She might use it right for one day, then the next day it's "ideal ideal ideal."

This isn't the only one she screws up, but it's just the one the grates on me the most.

That stuff kills me too. I hear ya on that. I absolutely hate people who type EMAILS IN ALL CAPS TOO.

Speaking of emails, this particular co-worker is also the one that forwards every spam email she gets. I look the stuff up on Snopes.com and send the links back to her. She still doesn't get the hint.

You work with a bright group of people huh? I've got a co-worker that sends every e-mail chain regarding getting a free gift certificate somewhere at some restaurant, or a free sum of money or something. Drives me batty.

It would take a week...

I have you both beat LOL when I was still with Pittson we computerized the Train shipping manifests and tied the weights into the coal accounting system.....I got the job to training the field guys on how to use the new system (The old system was to hand wright the info and fax it in so they were NOT computer users) I had folks tring to move the mouse pointer by putting the mouse on the computer screen.....I can laugh about it now but I think I can trace my hair loos lack to that event LOL

The ones I hate are the religious spam mail...everyone of em is "we're right, everyone else is wrong..if you love god pass this to everyone in your address book"...lol..i just delete them.

One of the guys I work with keeps tally of how much work he has done compared to everyone else. With him there is no team work, just I! That pisses off alot of people.

That's funny. Y'all need to gang up on that one it sounds like!

There must be a lot of workplaces with folks like this.
Our resident 'i work harder' went so far to put a list on the wall beside the copier to keep track of who carried up how many packs of paper and when (she felt she was doing more than 'her share' even though we all carried paper regularly).

The rest of us told her she was retarded and ripped it down, and dared her to put it back up.

She also said she was going to demand a raise because she "has to work with all the producers in the norton office while the others only work with one"
1) She has 1/3 of the total workload as the others
2) I work with all the Norton producers AND the BSG producers and I dont see it as grounds for a raise.

Try being a student manager. Few weeks ago I was student manager on duty one night and students didn't' show up for their shift.

Every work place has those who refuse to work.

the work kind of blows sometimes (construction work for VDOT), but the co-workers make it worth it

I've got to say I enjoy working with my peeps too.

Now I do like my co-workers a lot, but we all admit that we all do things that drive each other batty!

I have one that is always talking about 'arnin' her clothes.. ha

I hate arnin.

My co-workers on the break I am on are the tightest crew I have ever been with. The job can be a rough one sometimes, but we are like family. I couldn't ask for a better bunch to stand shoulder to shoulder with than our break.

I work alone and sometimes I just flat piss myself off and other times I get along very well . No you don't ! Yes I do so shut up !

Yeah but with every good worker, there are some workers who just refuse--as I said earlier.

I like working with the team and with my fellow student managers at the Crossroads Cafe (Berea College campus). However there are just a couple that will drive me nuts.

One weekend a fellow student manager asked me to sub for him on a saturday and I turned him down because I was already working. Instead of asking someone else to work for him, he found one guy to take the shift from me that I was working so that I could work for him and after that there was no possible way to turn that down. I don't like it when people either pressure me into subbing for them or when they do what that guy just did. The dude owes me two shifts.

And of course it is next to impossible to call in those shifts that they owe you. I totally understand where you are coming from.

when i was at pizza hut, i would just call the manager, tell her dudes gonna cover my shift, whether id talked to him or not haha

LOL that's great, but it would always come back on me cause they call me in when someone doesn't show up or we are short handed cause I am PRN. Fun times

I'm stuck. I have no position where I can call in someone to cover. dagnabbit.
I have too much guilt to call in.

The being a student shift manager when these students do not let you know that so and so is covering them or they just don't' come freakin in!

I'd like to get a TA position next year for music theory.

I get along very well with my co workers since we seldom see each other. Sometimes I go 7-10 days without seeing any of them. Their loss.

Same here. You suffer from the same affliction I do and have a real arse for a boss that expects you to be there all the time and never gives you a day off or a vacation.
