Hoping the Rockies TCB, but it's hard to bet against old familiar arse Boston.

yup......im stuck on stupid tonight
Rockies in 5.
Sox in 4
Rockies in 7
Sawx in 5
Sox in 5.
Rockies in 6...and I hope it snows every game in Denver.
Fan of any Denver team, but I'm going to have to go with Boston.
I'm not a fan of any team in denver...I just hate Boston.
Eh, I tend to like the teams that no one does...and I just happen to like my Broncos.
Rockies in 5..
realistically, boston should take this in 5-6 games. i'd say colorado wins one at Coors Field and that's it. i'd love to see the rockies win it though, but it ain't likely. who knows though, last year detroit had a better team than st. louis but that didn't matter in the end. my prediction is boston in 6.
Why is it not likely? They have a much better defensive team, and top to bottom in their lineup, their better contact hitters than Boston IMO. Boston has the edge in pitching, but it is very suspect other than Beckett.
And, The Rockies have been the hottest team in baseball since the middle of September.

Do you think the layover for them will hurt them?

hurt
see the tigers last year
As well as they have been playing..I doubt it.
8 days is alot for any team.......to be able to come out and pick right up where they left off would be amazing.......i just cant see it
Thats a pretty big layover.....kills momentum, imo.
I'll stand by my thoughts on that tho...I think the Rockies will open some eyes.
id like to see the rox win it......i just dont think its possible to be off that long and come out the same way they left off
I will stand by the Rockies pick too. I think they are awfully mentally tough, and because of that they will be able to pick up very close to where they left off. Plus, during the regualar season they took 2 of 3 from Boston at Fenway, with the wins coming against Beckett and Schilling. They pretty much dominated the Sox to combined score in those 3 games of 21-4.
there is one thing that i just though of
sox defense at coors
they wont take papis bat out of the lineup menaing he plays first base........youk is hot as hell right now......so they need to keep him on the field.......does that mean he plays RF which could further weaken their defense or do they choose to sit papi and sacrifice offense in favor of defense
Exactly. Thats why I will be a little surprised if the Sox win a game in Colorado.
Everything is in Boston's favor. They have the better team, manager, best postseason pitcher in the game, momentum, and the Rockies have been sitting for 8 days. If Boston doesn't win this in 5 something is wrong. I'm pulling for the Rockies though.
Everyone talks about the layoff, but only 2 teams who have had a 6+ day layoff between the LCS and the WS has lost the WS. The 06 Tigers, and the 46 Red Sox. The only advantages when you look at it that the Sox have would be their pitching, but if you look past Beckett and Schilling, the Sox don't have that, and Schilling is questionable anymore as well. The Rockies have a better bullpen, and can counter the lefties much better than Boston can out of the pen.
Momentum?? You wanna talk about momentum?? Boston was down 3-1, facing elimination and came back to win the series so how do the Rockies have more "momentum"??
24-1 in their last 25 games. Thats momentum.
It's not exactly like they have been sitting at home doing nothing. They still have had their workouts and practices. I think Colorado rolls in this series.
But they've never been this far before and Boston has. You have a World Series MVP on the mound for the Sox and Manny is one of the best postseason hitters of all time.
He's also atrocious defensively, and when they roll into Denver, he will be playing in one of the largest outfields in the majors, against the best hitting team in baseball.
Add to that the elevation and Manny will be sucking wind after 2 balls hit his way.
I don't care who they have..a .960 win percentage over 25 games says enough. If we were going on superstars, the Yankees would win the series every year hands down. Colorado is hot, and Boston has just barely escaped a series with their playoff lives. Until the Rockies go cold, no one is beating them.
If Beckett is on the mound in Denver you won't have to worry about balls hit Manny's way
Colorado sprays the ball everywhere...there will be nowhere in Denver to hide Manny or Ortiz.
True, but if its gonna be a high scoring game Boston has more firepower. They scored 10+ runs in their last 2 games.
