This may have already been posted somewhere but I never did see it, but I had heard that with all of the rain, Burton is considering moving the game to saturday. Any truth to that?

That would be interesting to know.
They did that last year.

I would doubt it...the drainage on that field is nowhere near as bad as it is made out to be.

lol..but it's football. I'm a purist, so I think you play in anything but lightining at the scheduled time and place...and if it is lightining, wait it out and play then..lol.

They will know by 10 am tommorow.

If the field can't handle an inch of rain after 3 months of dry conditions, they might as well just turn that place into a goat farm.

I don't see them changing it but you never know

IMO the VHSL needs to take away any ability for a home team to postpone a game just because the field conditions don't suit them.

It shouldn't matter if both the home team and away team agree to it.

True..but that should be the only way. In the 03 playoffs, there wasn't any noise about playing any of the games at UVA Wise until the regional finals came about. Then JIB was playing TS and they (JIB)wanted the game moved to UVAW. There was a week long argument, and the game was played at JIBs field which, we had been told for a week was practically under water. Well, we played it at JIB, and the field wasn't bad at all...but, the region ruled then that in subsequent years, the home team would choose the site for all games. And I still think it's BS.

It suprised me last year when Clintwood wanted to postpone the game because of rain to Saturday, figured it would have been in their advantage.

The game will be played tonight per Coaches from JIB. This was @ about 12:15

03 was a farce. If that field was in bad shape, then it's a wonder they ever play a game on the field at Appy.

Gibson doesn't get hurt, I think TS either wins that game or only loses by a TD.

Even without him, it wasn't a walk over...he carried 3 times for close to 60 yards before he got hurt...his absence hurt worst on d tho..2 of JIBs TDs were thrown on our backup at safety..he kept biting on play action. I thought TS played really well that day. Probably the best showing they had made in the playoffs ever except the 89 game with Appy.

TS had no line, period. I had a game on Saturday that year, so I got to go to TS that night. I remember speaking with Jamie Smith before the game, and he said they was gonna stop the game and give Kendall the ball when he got his 1000th yard. I told him, he's gotta get it first. He said he would in the first half. TS's lineman were so slow off the ball, it was pathetic. RC played behind TS's line of scrimmage all night and the DE's kept their outside contained. RC was the better team.

That is where the problem has benn at TS the past few years..the O-Line. And, no matter what you did with them, it never improved. They did pretty well vs. JIB that year tho.

I remember having the TS/Honaker game that year, and noticed how slow the line was off the ball. That was the only reason I thought RC would win that game going into it. TS didn't really have an answer for Berry, but the O-line was huge, but slower than Christmas, and RC had enough size and more overall quickness to slow Warner and Gibson down.
