Clintwood - Appy game

Just left the game. One of Clintwood's players was ejected because of a personal penalty foul. The Appalachian coaches showed their lack of class during this episode. Three of them came outo the field and no penalty was called. Then during the shake hand after the game one of the Appy Coaches told his players not to shake hands with the ejected player, saying he will not be playing next week.. No doubt he had forgotten that they also would not be playing. A total lack of class. After the last play of the game, after the quarterback had handed off the ball, a Appy plalyer hit the quarterback while he was standing there, after the play was over, NO CALL!!

Reminds me of the Appy--St. Paul game (at St. Paul) in which after a penalty several Appy coaches stormed out on field and got a "sideline warning" from the refs. This, of course, was just when Travis Turner left for Lee High so he thankfully wasn't one of them.

It really just sounds ridiculous for both sides, and there's certainly no reason to exclude the Clintwood player who was ejected.

We bashed them today!

That was purely lack of class. I didn't see it happen, but I have been told by the dr. on the side line that Clintwood player was being pinched and the Clintwood player pushed him off. Not enough for an ejection, in my opinion. On the last play of the game, I did see Clintwood's qb get hit after the play. Why, why, why on the last play of the game? I guess, with their coaches having little class "monkey see, monkey do"

I love to be bashed by people when my program is down, whether it be high school, college, or pro. You see most of these people changing teams like the weather, going with whatever team is popular at the moment or who is winning. You show your character when your team goes through the lean years instead of bandwagoning to other teams.

I thought it was a game with good sportsmanship until the ejection. Apparently things were not as I had thought. Clintwood players tell of punching , pinching and hitting done by Appy players in the pile after a play. I are not bashing Appy, that occurred during the game by the team in green!!! Two times this year Appy found this out.

Been beat before by Clintwood. Appy's had their fair share of wins over the Green Wave as well. Good luck in next weeks' game, which will probably end in no Region D Championship.

Well lets see, atleast we get the chance to play one more game and give it a shot at winning region..

and welcome to football, when I played it was pinching, biting, twisting ankles, and grabbing the good ol sack and pulling...it'll never end, its part of the game..

not good sportsmanship, but it happens and will continue to happen..

It was an onside kick and CW touched it before it went 10 yards. People kept piling on after the whistle. You asked for it , you got it. Up 30 points and an important player still in the game under a minute, somebody is stupid.

I didn't know about an ejection, but the greenies had some fans talking about a Robinson not playing next week, as I went out the gate. Don't take that as fact. I didn't see anybody leave.

Spuds, if Appy is kicking off, Clintwood doesn't have to wait 10 yards to touch it....Appy has to wait 10 yards to touch it, not the receiving team.

I have always held great respect for Appalachia, but after playing them this year I would have to say that some of the players and coaches were doing the same when Kelly played them.

MMM.. my point was all the whining I was hearing while waiting was from CW folks and the ball not going far enough. Once touched , it is live. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img] Please try to teach football to your fans.

Half our fans don't know football....kinda like at GC I heard this woman call what she thought was a safety on clintwood a touchback..and various other things..

No, they were saying that Appy should be flagged for trying to get the ball before it went far enough. Everybody has these folks. It is a football game, I felt like I knew what was gonna happen and I was right.

No big deal, they pay 6 bucks to support their kids. It is just sorta sad that as many calls that were missed(none were game changers) that this is gonna cost somebody the chance to play next week.

44 is the robinson kid?

Robinson is 8. Supposedly it was 44 Robbins. It's not known if he was ejected or they just told the coaches to take him out.

I was at the game (really wasn't much of a game)and it appeared to me that the coach pulled him off the field. The kid I saw so upset was a Robinson but not the RB. Don't know much more than that.

I hope he was not ejected, he is one of Clintwoods best players and one of the best in LPD.
Everyone knows how it can really hurt a team when one of their main key players are out.

He's a punter, kicker, fb, and mlb. If he doesn't play he'll be missed much more at kicker and punter than fb and mlb. He's a good kid and if he got booted it sucks. The second guy is usually the one to get the boot. You've got to keep your head.

He is the best kicker in the LPD IMO. As far as FB, I would also pick him right at the top too.
