If that happens, this place will go to hell in a handbasket with the JIB fans gettin on and raisin hell over the kicker playing after he was ejected vs Appy (if he was indeed ejected). I could see people threatening court actins and all kinds of shiz...would be classic..lol

If Clintwood is to have a chance at winning this game I guarantee you it won't be by the running game. IMO it will be up to Counts and the WR corp if they win this game or not. Last game vs Burton they uncharacteristically had a run/pass ratio of 54/46 and if they would have connected on a few wide open passes it would have been a different ballgame. Normally Clintwood runs the ball 85/15 or something in that neighborhood. I couldn't tell you the last time that Clintwood threw the ball more than 20 times in a game. Maybe a few times in Seth Askins day and maybe Paul Linkous a couple of times but not many. He who has the better passing game Saturday will win the ballgame.
Uh huh, Clintwood's best chance is to pound away at the middle of Burton's defense and keep Burton's offense on the sidelines as long as possible.
We will just have to agree to disagree on this one. Both teams D did a good job of shutting down the others running game the last time out and the success of Burton's passing game was the difference in the ballgame. Counts was only a hair away of completing two balls that should have went for scores but ended up with nothing.
I disagree, I believe the team that scores more points will win the game! It is really very simple, you can talk about who's passing or running is the best and give your opinion on what needs to be done but this is what I will say at the pre-game press conference. Now, all this is to said with a southern twang and is not to be taken seriously!
"Well, offensively, what we wanna do is score more points than they do, now defensively, what we wanna do is keep them from scoring more points than we do! If we do this, we will be successful!"
See how simple analagy is? Reduce it down to the most simple terms, and state the facts...the team that scores more points will win.
Anyway, I will not be able to watch the game but it will be a great day for football. Shame one has to lose. Hope both teams stay healthy, play hard, dirty, nasty, LPD football and then, after its over meet in the middle to wish the winner good luck and hopefully no one will be on here saying how one team got screwed or one player should have been banned from playing. I hope it all stays on the field.
I agree as well, I hope it is all left on the field and may the best team win. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Clintwood and know that if they win they will represent the Region D well in the other games.

Look at Clintwood's rushing stats against Appy. Now, the last 2 teams to beat JIB were Riverheads and Gate City, and how did they do it?? I don't recall their QBs throwing it all over the lot and passing for 300 yards.

But as much trouble as CW had with Appy, I don't see them getting far with the 3-5 that JIB runs. CW didn't score till they changed their offense in the second quarter. And CW's line ain't GC's. Hey ,prove me wrong, I just wanna see some good football and another LPD title.
I think that Clintwood and Burton respect each other alot ... gonna be a good hard hitting football game which i believe will come down to who has the fewest turnovers....
CW had trouble with Appy?? Are you kidding me?? Greenwave had 417 yards rushing, Robinson 8 carries, 139 yards and 2 TDs. Osborne 6 carries for 121 yards and 2 more TDs and Elswick had 8 carries for 100 yards. They averaged 13.3 yards a carry in the first half against a team known for running and stopping the run.
That they did. But almost all of it came in the last 3 quarters. They hadn't done much of anything in the 1st and it was still 0-0 after that. Then they made changes like Spuds said and it was over. That's the mark of a good coaching staff.
Gate city also played some great defense, and they got more turn-overs than they gave up. Ethan still threw for 120+ (just throwing facts out there)

Not the 4th Clintwoods subs did not move the ball well at all
Clintwood moved the ball well the 1st Qtr there first Drive ended on a 1st from the 6 that was a bad option pitch
Appy did force a 3 and out on Clintwoods 2nd series but that was preatty much it for D stops until the 4th qtr
IMHO, whoever controls the line of scrimmage will win the game. Which side comes off the ball the low & hard determines if the play is successful or not. It all starts with the line. If I were Clintwood, The way Burton comes off the ball (quick & aggressive) is what would worry me the most. Again, my opinion.
What were these offensive changes, Spuds? I didn't notice anything. They went through Appy like a hot knife through butter, Robinson twisted his ankle and went out for a few plays to get retaped, they pitch to Osbourne on the first play 6 yards from a td and it was a fumble. After Appy 3 and outed and punted for the second series they were still taping Robinson. Was that the changes, him coming back in the game?
