Tennessee is the under dog in this game
i hate the great pumpkin
lets go UK
UT by 7 and rollin on into the ATL
off to a quick start TOUCHDOWN TENNESEE!!!!!
24-7 at the half. The camera work in this game has been absolutely horrendous. Are the Lincoln Financial guys doing this game with CBS commentators?
My god what a game. If the little [censored] wouldnt have face masked em UT could have took it all the way.
I dont care if Tennessee can pull this one out of their ass. Fat ass phil deserves to be fired. He has drove this once proud program into mediocrity
i hope UT wins out and wins the SEC so they can play VT in a BCS bowl game

VT isnt goin to a BCS game
VT is a virtual lock for a BCS game win or lose...so, yet again, you're wrong
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: vthokie22</div><div class="ubbcode-body">VT is a virtual lock for a BCS game win or lose...so, yet again, you're wrong </div></div>
there is still so much that can happen
tell me that again when BC blows their doors off next week
not really much that can happen unless VT loses by 50
BC beat VT on a last second TD last time...VT also didn't have Vince Hall or Tyrod Taylor and Cam Martin had mono
i'd be surprised if it were a blowout in either direction
no conference can have 3 BCS teams, so no matter how it shakes out the Big 12 will only get 2 teams in max...OSU is in, WVU is in, winner of LSU-UT is in, winner of ACC is in, PAC 10 winner is in, which leaves 3 spots left...if VT doesn't win the ACC game that means UGa will get the first BCS bid, and Hawaii will get the second, meaning VT gets the last bid
[censored] VT. What a [censored] game.
This is not a [censored] VT thread. Please get off of this thread and find one that is named "overrated" if you can.
Yea please stop talking about VT. This was one of the best games I have ever seen! Congrats to both teams but I'm glad my vols won... Now it's LSU in the ATL....

USC will get in before VT as an at large, and USC hasnt completely locked the Pac-10 yet. The only way VT gets in is if they win the ACC IMO, which I think they probably will
Man I still cant get over that damn game. Messed up a half a day deer hunting but well worth it.
Why in the world did Woodson not take off with the ball on that 2 point conversion try???
oregon is losing...ucla, wont beat usc...usc locks up the pac 10 and VT gets the at large

He tried but got tackled.
vols.....sec champs perhaps?
I dont see why not? I believe they can hang with LSU

That little [censored] should have been ejected for that crap.
In a way I wish UK had won this game so they'd clean out the coaching staff at UT. The game should have never come down to overtime, but once again Phil and his staff don't know how to finish a game.

This one ended in a win. Please explain your opinion more. This isn't TECMO bowl. Most likely 22 folks on the field at anyone time had a full scholarship to a NCAA school. So these are all athletes and other high paid coaches they were going up against
Fulmer is about as aggressive as a neutered cat. He seems to be more interested in not losing than in winning, or at least the play calling on the field indicates that. Frankly, UT is lucky to be in the position they are in. They should have lost to South Carolina, Vandy, and Kentucky. Not that I'm complaining about the effort by the players,or the position the Vols are in, but at times I think the game has passed Fulmer by. Today was one of those times.
Well you might as well get used to him. In an article I read earlier UT's AD Mike Hamilton said that Fulmer can expect "a combination of a raise and/or extension".
I'm not a fan, but it seems if they win this many games every year it'll be hard to fire him.
Article
Things change, and even lengendary coaches like Tom Landry get walking papers.
I have a question here?
O.K. after UT blocked the FG Berry was face masked, it was said that the period couldn't end on an infraction, so the flag was disregarded, but whenever Foster got the unsportsman like it was tacked on in the next OT period?? WTF!

I was at the game and I thought we won. What do you want? Fulmer would not have been fired had we lost. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. We won the east. We have a chance to go to the Sugar Bowl. What do you want? He's won 4 SEC East Titles. 2 SEC Titles, and a National Championship. Oh I forgot won 100 games in the nineties and is 101 games over .500. What do you want? The great Steve Spurrier has lost 5 in a row at South Carolina, and they love him. All I know is we got the crap beat out of us by Alabama on the third Saturday in October. Since then we have WON (check that WON) 5 in a row, headed to Atlanta with a chance to win our way into the Sugar Bowl. Yeah, its a shame we beat KY.

one happened during the play, one happened after the play

But that still gives one team an unfair advantage over another, which is what I thought the rules were supposed to eliminate. By tackling the UT player by his face mask, UK avoided a losing play. Advantage UK. On the unsportsmanlike penalty, UT started 15 yards further down the field and out of field goal range, and again, advantage UK. They really need to address that if the officials ruled correctly on the field.

Fulmer is lucky to have won two of those, neither of which should have been close.
UT is my team, and as everyone else, I have a right to my opinion and to criticize if I think its warranted. If you disagree, then that's your prerogative. Notice that my criticism is targeting the coach, not the players. Sometimes you just don't have the talent or team chemistry to win, but that is not the case with this team.
Can I at least ask you who you want and who is available? Can I at least ask you if you realize how young our team is? We lose E. Ainge, Chris Brown, and Eric Young on offense. We lose Heffney, Ryan Karl, and one other lineman on defense. UT is your team, and you kinda wished KY would have won?
they said because it happened on a change of possession???

It's game 12, youth can't be used as an excuse.
The fact that Larry Slade sucks dong can be used.

The unsportsmanlike (damn I hate that word) call on Foster was a dead ball foul.

NotSoSilentBob would be a good replacement, with 1inStripes as a QB/offensive line coach. I want to be the offensive coordinator. I'm hoping Bill Houseright is in the mood so I can get him to be the defensive coordinator.
Yeah, I kinda wished KY would have won. Just look at all the jobs I would be providing for people.

Actually both ends and one DT are seniors along with Heffney and Karl. UT is your team? Why didn't you know this? [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img]
Actually, Mapu (the DT) isn't a starter. Dan Williams and Bolden have been the DT starters for all but about 2 games. As for the DE's Mitchell the SR plays the most but splits time with Brown and the other side is split about 50/50 between Reynolds the SR and Ayers the JR. So actually, he's almost right. He should have said 2 DE's. The way Ben Martin has been playing, he'll fit in there perfectly next year. Fulmer and Chavis have said that he's the best DE they've had since Little.
