actually it sounds nothing like that.....and everything like somebody was trying to break into his house and shot him when they were confronted

Yahoo.com didnt say anything about a robbery and thats where I got the article.
On fox sports, it said he was critical but has somewhat stabalized...but that it could go either way at this point...more serious than I realized.

Sad news, he's been in the wrong many times but this time he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Its bad when your own home is the wrong place.
I agree, same thing could happen to any of us in our own home.

Just speculation, but maybe just maybe it could have drug or some other intoxicating substance related?
MSNBC is currently reporting that Taylor has just died. Apparently they are reporting that this was a deliberate attack on him as the phone lines had been cut and his girlfriend had to use her cell to call 911 and had trouble getting through.
Don't know what happened, but folks, as the song says, it's not just a different time...it's a different world. My condolences to his family, and to all you Redskins fans out there. The NFL has lost a great player.
Very sad no matter what. You always wonder if something else was involved in this due to some prior history and accusations with individuals. I hope that is not the case, and hate that this has happened.

I've been Redskins fan for 24 years and I think today the franchise has reached its lowest point. What a terrible tragedy. I'm proud to say I was in D.C. and saw S.T. play his final game against the Eagles. I don't know where we go from here. Tough day to be a Redskins fan.

Anybody that knows me knows I am a huge Skins fans and was a huge ST fan. I was woke up this morning early by a txt message from my old roomate delivering the bad news. Terrible from a human stand point, a young child losing their father, from a parenting stand point at age 24 your son is shot and killed, and you lose the man you had your child by? I didn't know ST personally but I can tell you one thing I had a ton of fun watching him play. Today I wish I had taken the time/money to go watch him play, he truely was special. The Redskins Franchise has hit rock bottom, it was pretty low before this but to lose your best player forever is just the breaking point. I think Gibbs is past his prime but I really dont see how you can fire the man, especially now. I'm glad he's the coach today, maybe he can provide some stability to a terrible situation. This Sunday, like every Sunday since I was 5 I'll be watching the Skins. It's going to be a long time before I can really get mad at them though, not like I used to. I couldn't imagine playing a game after I just lost one of my good friends, there is more to life than football and today showed it. R.I.P 21

I'm numb from the shock of the news today regarding ST. In Redskins' fans' hearts, he'll always be "ST-21", but he'll forever to me be a Cane, "ST-26". One of the hardest hitters and physically gifted athletes to play safety in either the NFL or college, and he will be missed. I hope they catch the guy that did this to him and prosecute him to the fullest extent they can.
He was a bad man on the football field, from stripping Julius, to tipping the ball away from Moss, twice, to the hit he layed to win the game against the Cowboys a few years ago, to the monsterous hit he layed on the punter in the Pro Bowl, and many more. I guess Canes fans remember the hit against FSU, but I remember the ones that came in a Skins Jersey. Whatever Washington does from hear on out this season I wont complain, I do feel deep down inside that they somehow rally around this and do something special before the season is over.

The first break in was a few days ago, there was nothing stolen but someone went thru the drawers in the house and left a knife laying on his bed. Now with this, people can't possibly think it was just a simple robbery. His girlfriend stated that they broke in the bedroom door and started shooting. Anyone going to rob the place would have taken what they wanted the first time and most certainly would have stayed away from the bedroom on the second one. Whoever did this was there for a reason, and they got what they wanted.
Taylor was a special football player. I guess the one play that stands out for me wasn't a big hit that he layed on someone (although there were plenty). It was at the end of the Dallas game last year when he picked up the blocked field goal and made a play out of it to put us in position to win the football game.
Sick people in this world, go look at ebay the jersey I'm wearing right now just tripled in value.
It sounds like, at least according to what I've read, that ST the man had grown up some. A couple years ago, this wouldn't have shocked me that much but I guess, I felt like he was past that stage, past that time frame in his life. Obviously someone didn't want to let him out of that life or felt he was owed something.
The company you keep can define you.
The problem is sometimes people grow up and try to move on, distance themselves from their past, but the past doesn't always want to be distanced.
Hopefully people understand what I'm saying.
Its terribly sad, and I hate it as a Redskins fan. ST had, at least to me, matured on the field, which I am lead to believe means he probably had matured off the field as well.
I do hope that they find whomever was involved in this and that they suffer.

the reason he died from a shot in the leg is because it damaged an artery and caused a lot of blood loss....

Seriously, he was a great player, went to Gulliver prep, and his dad was a chief of police. He was always known as "the wildest Miami Hurricane of them all". Chris Samuels had said that he had grown up alot since the previous incident involving guns. One of my favorite memories of him isnt actually in the games but during the spring game one year. He was covering Kellen and they just beat the crap out of each other the whole game. He was a great competitor and surely didnt want to be outdone by Junior. He and Devin are clearly the two greatest athletes to ever come from the U. Their genetic makeup is unparallel to probably anyone thats ever lived. He was no Ed Reed, but he was a great great player.
I feel like I've been hit in the gut. It pisses me off that ESPN will shove continuous 24/7 coverage on Bonds and A-Rod,but aren't covering this terrible tragedy. R.I.P. ST. It was a joy watching you play as a Cane as well as a Skin.

It sucks that Sean was killed at only 24 years of age in his own home .. and it sucks even more that football is just about the only thing people mention when speaking of this incident.
Let us not forget that he was also a father and a very young man who lost his life far too soon. The fact that the intruder cut the phone lines so that nothing could be done afterwards just makes it all that much more sickening.
A very sad day indeed.
