I know most people really dont care that much about basketball, but I enjoy it. You can go see more games, and lets be honest what else are you going to do in SWVA when it gets dark at 5:30? Anyway, below are my picks for each division and region please feel free to agree or disagree and input your own picks.
Region A:
D1: Surry
D2: King William
Region B:
D1: Nelson Co
D2: Clarke Co
Region C:
D1: Galax
D2: George Wythe
Region D:
D1: Twin Valley
D2: Gate City
Those picks look reasonable to me. Altavista may be one to look out for too.
Basketball is by far my favorite.. I'll take Burton over Twin Valley in Div 1.. I think it's going to be an exciting season!
yea, I'll take Burton, and Castlewood over Twin Valley...
Castlewood is in D2.
I think GC will get off to a little bit of a slow start.
Wouldn't be surprised. The Devils really didn't hit their stride last year until after the Arby's Classic.
Will GC be playing Dobyns Bennett again this year before Christmas?

I don't think so, but we play South twice, and we will prolly play Oak Hill sometime too, the game was post-poned last week.

Agreed, from top to bottom Region B is by far the superior region. Doesn't this sound like every other sport?
I didn't see the game on DB's schedule either, but I don't remember it on GC's schedule last year either.
I thought someone told me that GC and DB have been playing some type of benefit/holiday game every year for a long time now.

I think DB played GC last year in the little 2 day deal they did at Twin Springs and GC.
GC and DB will play if they both win/lose their first round game of the arby's
vthokie22 do you have a schedule of the arby's this year? or a link to where i can get the information from? i've been looking everywhere and can't find nothing on it!
i haven't been able to find it anywhere either, but there was an article in the Kingsport paper talking about it, but a search on timesnews.net didn't turn up anything...bcts.org usually doesn't update their bracket til closer to the tournament

GC and DB must have played in the mini-tournament they had before Christmas at Gate City and Twin Springs. But, I was thinking they had a regular game each year.

Gate City played DB last year in the little mini-tournament at GC....DB won by around a dozen I think
The year before they had a home and home series, first at GC, which was a decent game, DB pulled away a little at the end winning by around 10 i think..
Then they played at DB after christmas, DB lead by 21 at the half, and went on to win by even more I think...
GC has scrimmaged DB and Oak Hill already.
