Coeburn boys beat Clintwood, 80 something to 70 something.
AA got 1000
PV won by 4 over Lee in a great game. Stafford played well for Lee and I guess if PV had a Player of the Game it'd have to be Jordan Martin. Delmas contributed alot tonight, if we can get that out of him the rest of the season we'll be in good shape. Big win for PV imo, on the road without two starters.
I also heard that Appy wore out Rye Cove.
Anybody have the JJK-Haysi score?
Didn't Kelly play Haysi?
Appy 61 RC 35
Congratulations to Andrew Adkins. The kid is a class act.
Lady Indians ran over Lady Tigers. JJK by 51 pts.
Haysi beat JJK in the boys game by about 7.

congrats aa...ur a class act
Whats the all time scoring record at Coeburn? Does he have a shot at it? Agreed on AA class act, and one of the better players in the Region.
Isnt it a Mitchell fella and pretty lofty. AA still has a shot though.
Thanks everyone.
The all-time leader is David Mitchell. He had 2,014 without a 3 point line.
Awesome!

I thought it was around 2000 or so. Good luck in your pursuit AA.

And took most of his shots from beyond where the 3 line is now, just imagine how many he would have had with it.

Of course alot of the courts were about half the size of the ones today and that added ALOT of extra possions for the teams
You said:

Which courts do you mean "were about half the size . . ." ?
I'm not following you on your statement.
Find some old timers I am sure that they can tell you about the gyms with 2 half court lines (1 for the 10 sec and a different one for back court) smaller courts = players getting up and down the court quicker = more positions in a game = more points on average
Which courts specifically had 2 half court lines?
I saw Mitchell play (around 1969-1970?).
Kelly, Burton, Pound, PV, Appy are all using the same courts.
Clintwood and Castlewood have newer courts.
I can't really remember Coeburn's, but isn't it the same?
The gym is prolly in the same location, but the floor is totally different. Coeburn's floor is top notch, I was impressed when seeing it for the first time Tuesday.
I will have to get back to you on that as I will have to ask a few old timers I do remeber them talking about the old Whitewood School the one in Clevland.
While not AS SMALL Clintwoods old gym would probably be good for 5-10 more posetions per game
Coeburn is still using the same court, other than having it resurfaced a few times. Along with most of the other schools around, alot of these smaller courts are still around but have been and are now used for p-nut and adult leagues.
