Thoughts on the Suns..
Buckeye, if you were to look it up, they get more fast-break pts with shaq....its called an outlet pass
Like I said before Marion was going to go anyway, the suns needed a center and put Amare at PF where he needed to be which he is doing great there and shaq is averaging about 14 rb a game..which it what the suns lacked
Jason Kidd is going too well right now in Dallas, but nobody says much about that...because its shaq is why the attention is there....you gotta give it time
and if the suns arent atleast in the westrn con finals this year, I will be absoltely floored.....to say they wont make the play offs is crazy.....People cant write off a team that is so explosive like that, I guarentee no other team is....

But get more wins with Marion.
Well I guess that's not too fair to comment on yet, so I need to give it some time. I just think that Shaq was definitely not the right man to trade for Marion and it pisses me off to see Nash brought down by this and not get his ring.

Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
I agree a lot of teams in the NBA are kinda boring, but most of the Suns games are fast pace...they are a running team and really fun to watch
Their modo is "7 seconds or less"...thats the time averaged last year for them to score
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Its usually 5 seconds of less before the other team has scored though. The Suns are no better than a 7 seed now, and may not make the playoffs. They are gone in the first round.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
just 5 seconds off the shot clock on each possession?...what team is that?
and I strongly disagree with that, I think they'll finish a 5 seed and like I said before, It will floor me if they are not in the Westrn Con Finals....I honestly think theyll end up in the finals
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Just about anyone playing the Suns and their Ole` defense.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
College Basketball>NBA. However, I will say that the NBA has the best pure athletes in the world. As for the Suns there dead, it'll be the Spurs or the Lakers from the west. You can't stop Timmy and you can't stop Kobe.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
I agree PVFAN. I haven't followed the NBA a ton, but have picked it up more so this year. Mainly have been a bystander, and watched the playoffs. This year has been intriguing with the big name trades though. Very good possibility of a Lakers/Celtics finals which would bring back a lot of memories.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
I'm not a big fan of the NBA at all, like you I just watch the playoffs. The Cavs don't have the best team but I'm not betting against Lebron, the man is sick. I would actually get excited if Lebron had a KG type player with him playing Kobe and Gasol in the finals.

I do like College basketball more, more intensity in every game compared to only some games in the NBA
Yes Kobe can be stopped, the suns have put them out of the playoffs the past 2 years and I dont think I watched the Suns and Spurs play earlier in the year, but I will this sunday when they play....I just think everybody is writing the Suns off too early, when you sholdnt ever write a team off like the Suns ever

Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Kobe now has a big man, the last time Kobe had a big man we all saw what happened.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Yeah and that last big man is with Nash now, the best playmaker in the game
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
He also just turned 36 years old.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
The Suns have put the Lakers out the last 2 years, but at that time Kobe had nothing around him.

I think Gasol & a healthy Bynum combined right now is better than Shaq dreams about being currently.
You put both of those guys on the court w/Kobe, Odom, and Fisher--I don't see a better balanced 5 in the NBA right now.

Nash is a great player, but he ain't the best play maker in the game.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
There is no player in the league or that has been in the league for atleast the last 3 yrs that is better than making players than Steve Nash, sorry
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
The guy has led the NBA in assits the past 3 years, avgs over 20 points....he can find anyone and make plays out of nothing, he's one of the best shooters in the league and is 3rd all time at the charity line, not to mention he is very clutch...sorry, there is no better playmaker in the NBA
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Suns go down again tonight, at this rate they'll be lucky to make the playoffs. Gave up over 120 points to the Jazz tonight. They've never been known for the defense but seems to me it's gotten worse since Shaq came on board.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
I guess the great white hype didn't make enough plays.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Nash can make plays, he's one of the top pg in the leagues. He's not the best player/playmaker though. Give Kobe or Lebron the ball and they'll make more plays than Nash. Not so sure I wouldn't take Chris Paul as my starting pg right now either, especially if you factor in the age difference. How much longer can Nash perform at this level?
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Ditto on Chris Paul. Guy has become a beast in the league, less his penchant of college days jimmy-punching.

Give Kobe or Lebron the ball and theyll shoot it, thats not exactly playmaking....they can make it but so can Nash
Nash not only can take and shoot it and win the game, but he can make passes that if you seen any other player try to do it, youd think it is stupid....Nash sets his teammates up like no other player and if your open for just a second he'll get you the ball..the guy makes every player around him so much better..thats why he is the best playmaker in the game

Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Raider, I'm telling you this as your friend and as a fellow fan of the suns - the suns are not as good with Shaq. I dont see why you dont realize this. It kills me to say it, but I honestly don't see them getting out of the first round. Come back to reality there. Just because they're your favorite team doesn't mean you have to lie to yourself.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Just a matter of opinion I guess, to me when Lebron falls out of bounds hitting a three it's making a play. Lebron with half the help has done more from a team stand point than Nash. I like Nash, a lot but he's no where near the top in terms of players in the game today. Julius Hodge will also hold the record for number of times struck in the groin. Chris Paul is a beast though.

Im not saying that they are the best, but everybody, you including are giving up on them way too early when you shouldnt give up on a team that is that explosive ever...Ive seen a thousand games of the suns and watched Nash played in person with Dallas....when you got a player like Nash on your team, dont take them lightly....I guarantee that the rest of the contenders in the league arent at all
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Their explosive level went from the a 9 to a 2 though. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see them drop out of the playoffs to be honest.
-
Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
the suns<the top 8 in the west, if you replace them with denver or GS.
joe johnsons a star in ATL, how much would he help now?

Grant Hill is still putting up big numbers and helping tremendously
and yeah if you add them together

Re: Thoughts on the Suns..
Biggg win for the Suns against the Spurs. Their defense looked awesome
Shaq 14 pts, 16 rbs and 2 blks
Nash 19 pts 14 ast and 4 rbs
Thats why I dont count the Suns out of anything
