Oil Crisis Over
Finally we have a politician with some REAL vision and wisedom.
B. HUSSEIN Obama has come up with the solution to our current energy crisis.
It seems that all we have to do is properly inflate our tires and keep our vehicles tuned up. He made the statement that we can save more oil than would be produced by increased offshore drilling simply by keeping proper tire pressure. And we can save that much again by keeping our vehicles tuned up. WOW. What a "leader". If we turn off the lights in Duffield we may be able
to stop importing oil all together.
Go ahead and vote for him. But don't come around crying later.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
I guess the right man can blow up anything. Perhaps he should hire a repairman to tell him what is what on stuff like this.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
It just blows my mind that a man running for President of the United States would actually make such a statement. But I could say the same thing if a 3rd grader made the same statement. It seems like a little Al Gore has rubbed off on him.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
Sorta like "Wait-Wait, you are sayin GAS is gonna be FOUR dollars a GALLON?" At least this ordeal is about over, might be a new disease- but at least for a while it will be a change of pace.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
The Dems tried to introduce a bill that would allow new drilling when the price at the pump reaches $10.00. That's per gallon, not per tank. This is not over by any means. Unless we do something and do it now we are in store for even worse in the future. We are being held hostage by the countries that are in the most unstable regions in the world. We are at the mercy of people who hate us worse than the plague. Things should never have gotten to this point. We have been through this time and time again and it gets a little worse each time. The sad part is every time the price goes back down a little we seem to just forget all about it. People are all for increasing our production when prices are high but then have a change of heart when prices ease a little.
We can't go on counting on oil as our sole source of energy. But we do need enough oil, at prices normal people can afford, until we can develope solar, wind or nuclear. People like Nancy Pelosi and B. HUSSEIN Obama don't care what we have to pay or how much it hurts us or the economy. They have enough money to pay any price and still live any kind of lifestyle they choose. Can you say the same thing?? Obama said he didn't think 5 bucks a gallon was unreasonable. Do you have his income?? Would that price force you to make changes? I had to do that before it hit 3 bucks.

Look up Arbusto oil- Bush is the same thing. Just the other side of the coin. Burn coal and let the Arabs eat that oil. If Bush cared about anything, he would have moved on SOMETHING. Invade Syria, Iran, Canada, Mexico- they are rich and NONE of them really care. Starve the world and see if we can't get cheap oil, this isn't a nice place.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
Bama has a story on MSN this morning saying he is willing to drill offshore. Musta have heard PVVike.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
"This is not over by any means."
I just meant the last of the Bush boys- Ronald McDonald or Bama will at least be a different sort of problem, at least it won't be the same ole song and dance. Do you think Bush looks like the lead singer for the Gorillaz?

LMAO at anyone deffending Bush or what Osama will be in office...
Bush is trash...
Obama has never done a thing in DC....
Mental illness certificate should be awardable to anyony thinking one is better than the other....

Re: Oil Crisis Over
The Dems accuse W of being "less than intelligent" and they are probably right. But then they trot out B HUSSEIN as a possible replacement. The man who has campaigned in 57 states. The man who wants to tax us to death to make "freebies" available for others. The man who thinks the "middle class" income starts at $150,000. The man who not surprisingly is endorsed by the countries and the leaders that hate us the most. The man who REFUSED TO VISIT WOUNDED SOLDIERS simply because he couldn't take his adoring press and cameras into the hospital. Oh yeah, he really supports the military doesn't he???
Just when it looks like things could not possibly get any worse B HUSSEIN wins the nomination. We may see just how bad things really can be if the far left liberal NUTS take over the White House. W may not look so bad when we have a change for the worse.

junkiest election in my lifetime, by a fraction over 4 yeares ago...
There is not a winning choice

How has Bush made this better for the vets? We haven't elected a prez since Kennedy.

Who says we elected Kennedy? I think dead people elected him. Now, Nixon was a great Pres.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
Bush isn't running again, thank goodness.
But what B HUSSEIN Obama did was an insult to the wounded soldiers in that hospital. Even though he is not worthy of being in the same room with them he did refuse to go see them simply because he could not take the press in. At last count his campaign had given 6 different accounts of why he changed his plans to visit the hospital.
Looks like instead of "Change WE Can Believe In" his campaign slogan should be "New Candidate With Same Old Lies".
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
Sounds like the mudslinging Bush used to win before. But I probably won't vote Dem, this time.

We haven't had a Prez with some brass ones since Teddy Roosevelt.
Where are you when we need you Teddy???

How out of touch is Barack Obama? He's so out of touch that he suggested that if all Americans inflated their tires properly and took their cars for regular tune-ups, they could save as much oil as new offshore drilling would produce. Gleeful Republicans have made this their daily talking point; Rush Limbaugh is having a field day; and the Republican National Committee is sending tire gauges labeled "Barack Obama's Energy Plan" to Washington reporters.
But who's really out of touch? The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. We use about 20 million bbl. per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now. Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%. Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone did, we could immediately reduce demand several percentage points. In other words: Obama is right.
Politics ain't beanbag, and Obama has defended himself against worse smears. The real problem with the attacks on his tire-gauge plan is that efforts to improve conservation and efficiency happen to be the best approaches to dealing with the energy crisis "? the cheapest, cleanest, quickest and easiest ways to ease our addiction to oil, reduce our pain at the pump and address global warming. It's a pretty simple concept: if our use of fossil fuels is increasing our reliance on Middle Eastern dictators while destroying the planet, maybe we ought to use less.
The RNC is trying to make the tire gauge a symbol of unseriousness, as if only the fatuous believed we could reduce our dependence on foreign oil without doing the bidding of Big Oil. But the tire gauge is really a symbol of a very serious piece of good news: we can use significantly less energy without significantly changing our lifestyle. The energy guru Amory Lovins has shown that investment in "nega-watts" "? reduced electricity use through efficiency improvements "? is much more cost-effective than investment in new megawatts, and the same is clearly true of nega-barrels. It might not fit the worldviews of right-wingers who deny the existence of global warming and insist that reducing emissions would destroy our economy, or of left-wing Earth-firsters who insist that maintaining our creature comforts would destroy the world, but there's a lot of simple things we can do on the demand side before we start rushing to ratchet up supply.
We can use those twisty carbon fluorescent lightbulbs. We can unplug our televisions, computers and phone chargers when we're not using them. We can seal our windows, install more insulation and adjust our thermostats so that we waste less heat and air-conditioning. We can use more-efficient appliances, build more-efficient homes and drive more-efficient cars, preferably with government assistance. And, yes, we can inflate our tires and tune our engines, as Republican governors Arnold Schwarzenegger of California and Charlie Crist of Florida have urged, apparently without consulting the RNC. While we're at it, we can cut down on idling, which can improve fuel economy another 5%, and cut down on speeding and unnecessary acceleration, which can increase mileage as much as 20%.
And that's just the low-hanging fruit. There are other ways to reduce demand for oil "? more public transportation, more carpooling, more telecommuting, more recycling, less exurban sprawl, fewer unnecessary car trips, buying less stuff and eating less meat "? that would require at least some lifestyle changes. But things like tire gauges can reduce gas bills and carbon emissions now, with little pain and at little cost and without the ecological problems and oil-addiction problems associated with offshore drilling. These are the proverbial win-win-win solutions, reducing the pain of $100 trips to the gas station by reducing trips to the gas station. And Americans are already starting to adopt them, ditching SUVs, buying hybrids, reducing overall gas consumption. It's hard to see why anyone who isn't affiliated with the oil industry would object to them.
Of course, in recent years, the Republican Party has been affiliated with the oil industry. It was the oilman [richard] Cheney who dismissed conservation as a mere sign of "personal virtue," not a basis for energy policy. It was the oilman George W. Bush who resisted efforts to regulate carbon emissions. And most congressional Republicans have been even more reliable water carriers for the industry's interests.
John McCain has been a notable exception. He is not an oilman; he has pushed to regulate carbon emissions; and he opposed Bush's pork-stuffed energy bill, which Obama supported. He also opposed efforts to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and until recently opposed new offshore drilling. But now that gas prices have spiked, McCain is running for President on a drill-first platform, and polls suggest that most Americans agree with him. It's sad to see his campaign adopting the politics of the tire gauge, promoting the fallacy that Americans are powerless to address their own energy problems. Because the truth is: Yes, we can. We already are.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
Drill where ever- but face it if we are gonna get away from the ME oil we will need to build plants, with tax dollars , to make gas from coal.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
There really isn't a short term solution here except for what Mr. Obama proposed.
The best solution is to just get away from oil all together I believe, as long and a painful process as that will be.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
I found it kind of amusing the way B. Hussein kept telling us how McCain would carry on the failed Bush energy policy. He ripped the administration for tax breaks given to the big oil companies. The TRUTH, as it turned out, is that B. Hussein voted FOR the very policy he was damning while McCain voted AGAINST it.
Seems to me like B. Hussein is having a small problem with the facts. And with the TRUTH.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
The "Change We Can Believe In" slogan amounts to changing the facts to make you believe a lie. The only thing B. Hussein has going for him is a staff of VERY GOOD speach writers. Without a script to read he is fairly helpless. Probably the reason for turning down numerous invitations to appear on The Factor. MOST DEFINATELY the reason he is AFRAID to face McCain in a Town Hall Debate setting. Even Hillary Clinton said he was not ready to be President and that McCain would be a better choice. But of course she has to do her duty now and back B. Hussein even though she knows he is not fit to hold the office.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
Same could be said of the things the GOP candidates said of McCain during their primaries...it's politics.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
I don't recall any of them saying somebody from THE OTHER PARTY would make a better president. Since you seem to support B, Hussein, if he loses, and God help us if he doesn't, you should just donate more of your paycheck to the IRS each week. And if you think he would not raise your taxes DRASTICALLY you have lost touch. Just listen to some of his ideas. Seems like he favors free everything for everybody. Who pays for it?? His idea if giving the American public an "energy rebate" with a windfall profits tax on oil companies is just plain STUPID. They simply raise prices to offset the tax, so who is actually paying the tax??? The man has ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE that could possibly qualify him for the office. You probably don't realize that he has raised almost $1,000,000 PER DAY in pork barrell spending since being elected to the Senate. Of course that seems to go with the territory in that party these days. The Democratic party wants to see gas prices hit at least 6 bucks so they can try to move us away from oil. We do need to reduce our oil dependency but not at the price of our economy.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
Once I start bringing in $100,000 per year, I'll start worrying about my taxes being raised drastically...which isn't happening any time soon. You guys are delusional if you think 4 more years of our current policies won't put our country in depression.

Re: Oil Crisis Over
The point you seem to refuse to admit is that it is B. HUSSEIN that would come closer to killing the economy. Open your eyes. He wants to make us believe that we would have a continuation of the current administration when in reality McCain has fought Bush on several key issues. The crazy far left liberals are not what this country needs right now.
You will find out more about B. HUSSEIN in the coming weeks. Not sure if you will pay any attention but it will still will be there for you to see.
Do you think he will keep our country safer that McCain?
Do you think he is going to fight the ignorant Dems. like Nancy Pelosi who REFUSE to allow a vote on drilling?
Do you think his free education idea for all Americans will come without a cost?
How about his plan for free health care?
Do you honestly think that with his VERY LIMITED experience he is in any way qualified to decide this country's future? Maybe you and I should run. We are just as qualified. You wanna be Prez or VP??
We DO need a change in this country. No doubt at all about that. Personally I think a change for the better would be a wise choice. McCain is in no way my number 1 choice but he certainly is head and shoulders above any other choice we have. At least he is tested and respected.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
You can whine and complain til you are blue in the face, but my vote is going to Obama. He may be an unknown, but a given is that McBush will keep the country in the same sorry state it has been for the past 8 years.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
Not my fault who you vote for. I am not responsible for anything you do.
Would you agree that the President has a responsibility to stand up to the leaders of countries who wish to do us harm? Do you agree that the President should have the ability to take a stand on issues by himself? Do you think the President should be man enough to admit when he has been wrong about an issue? Just curious.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
Yeah...and furthermore I would agree that the President should do what is in the best interest of the citizens of the country..something that hasn't been done under the current administration and would not be done under a continuation of another administration from the same party sharing the same views.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
So B. HUSSEIN, who wants to be the leader of our country, does not have the nerve to face Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity one on one, but you think he can stand up to dictators?? Interesting.
Ever wonder why he refuses to debate McCain in a town hall type setting?? Could it be that he has no idea what to say unless he is reading a script?? It seems like every time he makes a statement "off the cuff" he gets himself in trouble. If the man actually has an idea or a plan for anything why does he refuse to answer questions?? If he expects Americans to vote for him he should be able to come forth with his own ideas and share them in ANY forun. The same goes for ANY candidate.
B. HUSSEIN wants an end to the war in Iraq. So does John McCain. So do I. So do you. So does everybody else. But the man who wants to lead our military refuses to admit he was DEAD WRONG about the troop surge. McCain went against popular opinion and pushed for the surge and that has helped bring the war to a faster end. The US and Iraq are now planning troop withdrawls, and sooner than any of us expected. EXPERIENCE and the ability to take a stand on a tough issue paid off. Maybe that is the reason B. HUSSEIN refused to visit our wounded troops. Maybe he was ashamed for taking a position against them. He certainly should have been. Why can't B. HUSSEIN simply admit that he was WRONG on this issue?? But you think for some reason that he is better qualified to lead our military???
B. HUSSEIN is GREAT at delivering a speach. Simply brilliant. But he is simply reading from a script. I think we should have the right to hear him talk about issues without just repeating what he has been told to say. And that is all he has done to this point. Is that too much to ask of someone who wants my vote?? How can anybody give ANY candidate their vote without first hearing something from him? I don't understand that. Nobody knows what he really stands for. We just know what he has been told to say. If he would stop ducking every opportunity to answer questions and debate the issues he might win my vote. But he lacks the nerve to do that.
-
Re: Oil Crisis Over
Like I said, it's politics...Obama has nothing to gain from a debate, McCain does, so he doesn't do it. And who the hell wants to go on Fox News anyways? It's not like you see McCain on Olberman or Abrams...and I don't even want to start on the politics of the surge...cuz we should've been surging since day 1 and we'd have been out of that hell hole in 3 years easily. So, it's matter of opinion...if you are satisfied in our government, vote for McCain...if not vote for change.
