Re: All Time NFL Team
Oakland Raiders
Coach John Madden
Offense
QB Ken Stabler
RB Marcus Allen
FB Bo Jackson
WR Tim Brown
WR Fred Biletnikoff
TE Dave Casper
OT Art Shell
OT Lincoln Kennedy
OG Steve Wisniewski
OG Gene Upshaw
C Jim Otto
Defense
DE Howie Long
DE John Matuszak
DT Reggie Kinlaw
LB Matt Millen
LB Dan Conners
OLB Ted Hendricks
OLB Rod Martin
CB Willie Brown
CB Lester Hayes
S Jack Tatum
S George Atkinson
Special Teams
K George Blanda
P Ray Guy
ST Cliff Branch (cuz he's my 3rd WR)
The team could be stronger with additions of players who came to Oakland late in their careers ala Rod Woodson, Ronnie Lott, Warren Sapp, Jerry Rice etc. But I chose to pick players who wore the Silver and Black during the prime of their careers.

Re: All Time NFL Team
Lyle Alzado didn't make the team?
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
No all time raiders team would be complete without Bo-Knows in the backfield
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Not mine...IMO Kinlaw was twice the player Alzado was for the Raiders..and a true nose tackle...plus, Alzado became a star with Denver...lol. If I went 2 deep, I'd include some of the other guys that fit in the same category.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Alzado was just a character. I don't think he necessarily would be first team either.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Randy McMichael over Bruce Hardy?
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yeah I loved Randy McMichael when he was in Miami
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Tennessee Titans
I can't really compare the Titans to some of the other great past teams in the NFL but I'll try.
Offense
QB Steve McNair ( My favorite player and a true warrior )
RB Eddie George ( Holds the rushing rec in Tennessee )
FB Lorenzo Neal ( The best FB i've ever seen )
WR Derrick Mason ( Done more for Tennessee then and other WR )
WR Drew Bennett ( Sad but he's all I could think of )
TE Frank Wycheck ( Best WR Tennessee has ever had )
OT Brad Hopkins ( Was a solider on the line )
OT Michael Roos ( Is smash mouth )
OG Bruce Matthews ( In the NFL HOF )
OG Benji olson ( Was a solid G and a great run blocker )
OC kevin Mawae ( Might be in the HOF one day. Still on the roster )
Defense
DE Jevon Kearse ( The best DE Tennessee has ever had )
DE KVB ( Still on the team today, Plays 110% on every down )
DT Albert Haynesworth ( When healthy he's one of the best every Sunday )
MLB Randol Godfrey ( Hard hitter )
OLB Kieth Bulluck ( The best linebacker in Titans history )
OLB David Thornton ( I remember a lot of sub par LBs but he's the best one I could think of )
CB Samari Rolle ( was fast and I great cover corner but couldn't tackle for a damn )
CB ( I'm not naming anyone here! I can't think of a solid person, beside Courtland but he still has things to prove )
S Blaine Bishop ( By far was the best S in the Titans history, 4 time pro bowler )
Thats all I got. I know it doesn't match up to some of the past great teams in the NFL but them are some of the best Titans I can remember and in some way it's sad....

Re: All Time NFL Team
...you do realize the "Titans" history stretches back to the Houston Oilers, right???
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yeah...players like Campbell, Moon, Blanda, Houston, Brazille, Matthews, Munchak, Bethea, Burroughs, "White Shoes" etc are heads and tails better than anyone on that list.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yea I do but I'm not counting that and there is two reasons why.
1. I really didn't keep up with the Houston Oilers!
2. Tennessee has started the new era in football when they became the Titans so thats all i'm keeping up with.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Not exactly...most of the players that comprised the Titans "1st" team in Tennessee were the same players that comprised the Oilers "last" team...Heck, weren't they even called the Tennessee Oilers?
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yea I kept up with them when they was the Tennessee Oilers! I mean I don't know much about them when they was the Oilers but I did know some! I mean I was only 12 or 13...
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Plus look at my sig dude.
Their promoting the ten year logo this year! So maybe their just keeping up with the Titan era to!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
All I was sayin is that the mainstays of the Titan Super Bowl team were part of the team when they were the Oilers...Plus, they had some legendary players...since they've been the Titans they haven't had 3 backs you could put together and equal Earl Campbell...
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Oilers is in the past it's Titans now, my sig gives that away! What about Eddie George I mean he holds all the records!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
I saw em both, and Campbell owns Eddie George...I actually liked em OK when they were the Oilers unless they were playin the Silver and Black
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Eddie wasn't bad but Campbell was good so I dunno.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Campbell was a built more like a FB and may have been listed as one..but he set up as a single setback alot...this ain't the best video...but check him out
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWKtv4gxuvQ"]YouTube - Houston Oilers Tribute Part 2-Earl Campbell #34[/ame]
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
I've seen them all man!
Still Eddie holds the Records that Campbell doesn't. Campbell was one of the best but he never played for the Titans! I was a tiny tiny kid when he played so why would I ever vote for him when I never watched him!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
I just can't see George over Campbell...lol..George played 1 more year than Campbell and had 700 more attempts but just 1000 more yards. He averaged 7 less yards per game, had 7 less TDs and averaged almost a full yard less per carry than Campbell did...plus Earl had a TD pass. It's your picks, but Earl is the best runner after the 1st hit EVER..
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Like I said tho George was a Titan Earl wasn't! If I got to watch Earl growing up my mind might be diffrent about it!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Titans shoulda picked up Brett....
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Nah I would stick wit VY lol
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Campbell played for the same organization as George and I would go with Campbell.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Earl Campbell was a BEAST ...I remember which highlights of a game in which he just tore the Dolphins up, I think it might have been on MNF too
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
3 consecutive MVPs, 5 Pro Bowls, and in that vid he's running over the Steel Curtain and takin one in the chops from Jack Tatum on the goal line and still scoring...speaks for itself.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
He might be the better running back but he was never a Titan so I don't know him! I mean I've watched videos but thats all! I watched almost all Eddies games! I know their both from the same organization but the Titans are the Titans! Which their marking their 10th year as the Titans this year!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
And the Titans were the Oilers, so its one and the same.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
The Ravens are the old Browns too, but unlike the Oilers, they left the logos in Cleveland. To me, the Titans are the old Oilers.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yea I know and thats what I just said. But I was to young to keep up with the Houston Oilers so I didn't, so i feel like i don't have a say with the past players! So i'm only gonna type down the players that i seen in my nfl watching experience....
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
But its called an all time team. Not a past decade team.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
That is the same as leaving Ray Nitchske off an all time packers team cuz he played in the 60's or Butkis off a Bears team...
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Yea I know that but i'm not going to type down a players name that I never watched in a live NFL game! I don't know it might be just me but I think it's kinda wrong!
-

I mean yea I know some of the big name players from the past but like I said Eddie was the best back I ever seen as a oiler/titan! If i would have watch earl then I would prolly say it was him but I never watch him play besides highlights!
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Watchin Earl play was a highlight.
-
Re: All Time NFL Team
Well i'm so glad your in love with the man! But it was my picks so i'm sticking with them
