any word on how the scrimmages went for tonight?
Clintwood pretty well dominated the line and scored 7 times I believe with 2 being called back...so 5 tds to none for John Battle. Lots of good "popping." If sure does feel good to sit and watch some football
Witnessed the last hour or so of the scrimmage and clintwood seems to be on key....fairly impressed by a few faces I had never seen on the field before... Defense held strong and put some good hits on JB
...any idea what time the benefit game starts next friday?
Pound beat St.Paul tonight and It's nice to hear those pads popping...
THS 3 PV 0
Castlewood, Kelly, and Lebanon scrimmaged in Castlewood this evening. Although they played different situations, first being 10 offensive plays for each squad, then finished up with a quarter against each other, here are a few results I can remember.
In 10 play segment:
Kelly 1 Castlewood 0
Lebanon 1 Kelly 0
Lebanon 1 Castlewood 0
In quarter action:
Kelly 12 Castlewood 6
Kelly 8 Lebanon 0
Lebanon vs. Castlewood, I didn't stay to watch.
Kelly appeared to be the strongest physically of the 3, Lebanon was the biggest, although most of the size was in the form of their skill people. Lebanon also had the most speed. Castlewood was the smallest of the three teams, but they appeared to have good skill people. All three teams could have successful seasons if they get good line play.
If they are stronger than Lebanon that says a lot. The Pioneers put a whippin on Clintwood last year.
I wouldn't say it was overwhelming, and may not actually be stronger than Lebanon...lol. Like I said, Lebanon had some big receivers and both QBs were big. I don't know what grade some of the Lebanon kids were in but there were possibly a D1 prospect or two on the their team, meaning they were big and could run.
i think clintwood has a couple d1 or d2 prospects myself from watching the game tonight
How did Pound look? St. Paul?
Anybody go see Appy's scrimmage?

I would tend to agree, but I'm not a D1 football recruiter. They definitely have several kids that will play at the next level.
Pound still needs some work but have improved.I'm just glad to see them hit a lil better this year. They have all worked hard.
St.Paul's line was a lil weak but they have some good skill players..

D1 would be pushing it.
Nobody answered Beast's question:
Did anybody go see the Appy scrimmage and if so how do they look?
I think D-1 is a little high but clintwood has at least 2 players that will have the opportunity to play college ball
in your opinion which ones do you think will play college ball

87, 44, 28 , 8.
What about Hull?
Thanks. I'd forgot about him. He's definately at UVAWise type player. He was out best linemen last year, but I think he'll be surpassed easily by 87 this year.
i know i seen 87 lay a lick on a kid last night
He almost killed that WR early in the scrimmage.
osborne and robinson(RB)
others like hull, the other robinson and robbins have a chance but I dont think they have shown enough to play at the next level
that could change after this season
any word on how burton did?
burton's starting squad scored 10 times on 24 plays...north green never passed mid-field
Wow
No shock. Greeneville is the only school in that area that is worth a dime.
How did the boys look?
I know they handled Castlewook, but how did they look against Lebanon?

yeah, don't be overly excited about that.
north green used to make twin springs look unstoppable in scrimmages.
North Green has always been weak, really weak in football. I would say they are about the caliber of football team that Thomas Walker was when they first started their football program. It is kinda like an NFL team playing a p-nut team.
really had no idea, didnt know they were that bad
So is Burton still in the doubble wing? Did they pass any or Jet sweep the crud out of north green?
Any word on the Appy/ Lee High game?
Burton's qb's threw for of the 7 TD's.

What?
I think he meant "four of the 7 td's"
hunnicutt and talley combined for four of the td's in the scrimmages..both qb's looked really good

That is suprising to me I really thought that burtons passing game would take a hit this season if Burton has been able to replace Stewart with no dropoff then they sould be EXACTLY where they were last season
Why would you think that? I mean E's shoes are nearly impossible to fill, but these 2 qbs can still really do the job...both are strong and pretty dang fast.
