Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Thanks for the video. The first half PV looks like the same team that played Lee..and they committed turnovers that buried them early...but in the second half somethin clicked. The O looked more crisp, and the D was flying to the ball...IMO, they are turning the corner. By the time the LPD comes knockin, PV will be ready to cause some headaches.

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
No problem, thanks for the feedback guys.
I probably need to start sitting higher up on the bleachers so that I can get a better view of everything, though. And I still hate how the stadium lights mess with the camera later in the games. Makes anyone with a white uniform look almost like a blur.
Next up: the Kelly/Burton game this Friday!

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Passman.... how often can you offer those pv video feeds? I love em... thanks for the clip.

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
You do know you shouldn't be doing this. All you are doing is providing every school around a video they normally wouldn't get and is just like an opposing team sending someone to tape games which is highly frowned upon in the district.

What the [censored] are you talking about? He's not taping the practices. You can watch the same games on tv, if a team really wanted to see the other team they could send somebody to tape it. Not some big secret game, hundreds of ppl could go tell exactly what happened in it. Nothing wrong with this.

I can't promise you I'll be filming many more PV games this year, but we'll have to wait and see. Thank you for the feedback, though, and glad you liked the video. I usually just try and travel to the best games in the area regardless of who is playing who, rather than focusing on a single team.
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: TheBeast</div><div class="ubbcode-body">You do know you shouldn't be doing this. That's obviously not what I'm going for, but I do see what you're saying. I don't think that what I'm filming is 'clear' enough to be used to assist other teams because it's often tough to even see what formation the offense/defense is in and what is happening at times. Plus, like raider13 pointed out, opposing teams could easily send someone to do the same thing or even refer to certain people in order to figure out exactly what happened in the game, what the other team did, etc.
It seems like every time I try to do something, there's always something wrong with it, though. I just don't understand why this issue didn't pop up until now, when I had filmed several games a year or two ago and nothing was said. I don't think there's a problem with it, but if there is, I apologize.

I know your not very bright but where did you miss the part where it plainly says "and is just like an opposing team sending someone to tape games which is highly frowned upon in the district."
I will spell it out for you. It can be done but it is an agreement amongst all LPD and the region for the most part to not do this. It is not looked at as a moral or ethical thing to do, I know these 2 words aren't in your vocabulary so to let you know they mean you shouldn't do it because it jsut isn't right.
I don't know of any team that doesn't send scouts to watch their next opponent and take notes, but none of them video or take pictures. Again this is viewed as immoral and unethical (2 more words you know nothing about, see above description).

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Hey Beast, not to argue with you, but I was just thinking about it this way:
Even if I am filming the games and posting them on the net for football fans to watch, wouldn't it still not be the same thing as teams sending scouts to film games because if they WANTED to film the games, they would film them . . likewise, if they didn't want to film them due to it being unethical, why would they search on the Internet for videos of the games if they knew it wasn't right?
I am not affiliated with any teams, schools, etc. so if I am just a random fan going around capturing footage and posting it on the web, how is it still unethical or immoral?
I guess what I'm saying in a nutshell is that, if they came online and started watching footage of the games, what is the difference between doing that and having someone film the games? Either way, it's unethical, and they shouldn't be doing either as far as I'm concerned - if they're going around searching for footage of other teams when they shouldn't be, that's a problem on their hands for even doing it, not mine. Just because the material is on the web doesn't mean it's automatically going to be in their faces unless they search specifically for it.

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
If I knew they frowned upon it, I would do it every week on purpose. What are they going to do about it?
-
Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
I guess saying you shouldn't be doing it was making to strong of a statement. The real point I was trying to make was that it is frowned upon by the schools around for opposing schools to film their games and it could be viewed by some that you posting them like this is unfair since you filmed school A and not school B.
I don't have a problem with you doing it myself and like to see them just giving you a little FYI.

They only frown on the other teams doing it for scouting purposes not the fans in general filming for their personal use. If a fan does it and says hey coach I got a film of school ______ I made for us it would be the coaches place to refuse it and let them know why.

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
From that video ( distance and angle ) I could tell very little about formations or players . Appreciate the effort but try to get on top of bleachers and zoom zoom zoom !

Are you kidding me right now? I don't know what immoral and unethical means? How about you go look at my posts and about 50% of them are arguing with ppl like you and your good friend about eithics and the right thing to do(Mr. helping people and affordable healthcare is socialism and wrong. Obviously you are the one who doesnt know what you are talking about. He isnt doing anything wrong, tons of people tape the games. A lot of them are broadcast on TV a few weeks afterwards and ppl could as just easily watch them there. Most teams know what types of plays their opponents run anyways, thats how they practice and prepare for it. Its not a big deal, like he said he doesnt work for any school and is just a fan doing a pretty good job by taping different games so ppl who maybe were unable to go or went to another one can have a chance to watch it, yeah thats immoral alright. He isnt doing anything immoral or unethical, if a coach wanted to use it to look at another team its them being immoral...I think they have other tools and means to see or hear about another game rather then ole chubz who is doing us a favor by taping these games and posting them for us.

Those post were made while I was making mine, it was kinda long. When you were blathering about morality in sports which btw is an oxymoron, its just a game.

Then why have any rules at all? You obviuosly have no problem with cheating and breaking the rules, and if there is no reason to have some sense of morality in sports why would you have any sense of morality in the rest of your life.

Are you serious? Its a game, entertainment, highly-overpaid "athletes" running around. They are for our entertainment, there wouldnt be chaos in the world if we didnt have it. I'm not going to make a living out of it, so I don't take it too seriously unlike others. I watch them and play them with friends but a holding call is the same as stealing money or a traveling call isnt the same as killing someone. It hardly has anything to do with ethics unless you make it like that.

Could I put in a request? I live in KY now and haven't seen my Dawgs play in awhile. Could I get you to tape an Appy game any time this year?

I'll see if I can get one of those games this season.. hopefully I'll be able to make it to at least one of their games!

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
From that video, all you can really tell is result and effort. I wouldn't worry about it. Any HS around here that wants a film of another team trades films for em anyways.

Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Don't coaches trade films on the planet that you are from?

A funny story
Coach Meade (Former Clintwood head coach for those to young to remember) was telling about how tricky film swaps used to be......Clintwood was to Play Appy (Not sure of the year but Cummins was the head coach at the time) and Clintwood and Appy swapped tapes of a previes game when the Clintwood coaches started watching the film they thought something was not right....Appy had sent them a film of a Practice! LOL and to top it off it turned out to be a JV practice.

They usually trade the film from two games prior and whatever else they want to send you, not the game before and you can get 10x more from a film than you can from watching it live.
And not everyone trades, there are a few that refuse to trade.
-
Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Very few refuse to trade...and really it's up to each team to determine which films they swap. It's usually an oral agreement over the phone before the swap. But, normally, the film is much higher up (and thus clearer) than what passman has posted. There is nothing at all wrong with the clips he's put on here..cuz you can't get formations or anything else from them. You can't tell if the backs are offset, which WR is on the line, patterns, D alignment or anything else. If a coach uses one of these to get a game plan, he isn't much of a coach.
-
Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
Ol Sarge was known to trade a few edited tapes in his day. I know of one coach right now that generally doesnt trade tapes either. His assistants used to do it though so they would have something to gameplan off of. I don't know if any of the new assistants do or not, but they should. Part of the reason I think that program is in a nose dive IMO.
-
Re: PV @ Lebanon [VIDEO]
LOL...sarge like to trade the "fuzzy" ones..

Should be a pretty good game.
