Heard earlier this morning that Pound's football coach has resigned. Any truth to this and if so, why?

With the politics there, who could blame him...

Coach Crabtree? It's a shame. He did really well at turning Ervinton's program around just before he left. You have to feel sorry for Pound's football players, too. As bad as it's been this year for them, you know that this has to be devastating for them. Being left without a head coach can't be good.

Like I said, this is just a rumor, it HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. I was hoping someone from Pound could either confirm or disprove this.

A friend of mine who's a Pound fan said there was a big blow up between coaches in the locker room after the game two weeks ago.

Passman, he did nothing to turn Ervinton around. They had 2 rb's that could have started for any team around here. When they were there, he got them 6-7 wins. Other than that, they always sucked. He's horrible and Pound is better off if he did leave.

If true, (not saying it isn't, as I don't know) where's administration in all this? What have they said about the situation?

My buddy said (Edit By Counts: I have been told that this event did not happen and since it is hearsay of an observed event I am removeing it however anyone that may have actualy wittnessed an event can feel free to post on it). Take it for what it's worth.

Again if this is true,, you have to think about the head basketball coach 'leaving' after school started in August( little over a week). Something seems to be happening.

Since there really aren't any affirmative responses given yet I suppose a person could stop by a football practice and just see who's there coaching.

Could be a secondary problem for sure. The main problem is the head man is clueless.

Could be - I don't know. If he is, then why did Pound hire him? And could it be that the head woman is clueless as well?

I noticed what seemed like a lot of hostility between some of the players, coaches, and parents outside the Pound locker room as I left the Coeburn/Pound game a couple of weeks ago. Pounds good running back, #7 I think, had a lot of adults around him as I left and it seemed like they were consoling him, it kinda seemed like he didn't wanna go in the locker room.

This is just an observation, I may very well be way off.

I kinda got the feeling that a lot of Pounds parents expected Pound to handle Coeburn fairly easily and when it didn't happen the [censored] hit the fan.

Thanks for the update. Whether there's any truth to it or not, based on the other comments in this thread, I doubt it'd make any difference. Doesn't seem like things are very jolly up that way.

I don't think he'd want his name on here but he sits right in front of the press box at every home game.

But I know lots of them that sit and stand there every game..So That could be a few different ones...haha

It's just like a conversation I had with a local personality over the weekend when he made a comment about an experience he had in Pound.

From some of the comments I've gotten over the last year or so, is expect a lot more defections at Pound, be they players, coaches or whatever. It appears that there doesn't seem to be that much support where it counts, and several Napolean wannabes.

more support and ammunition for the consolidation supporters.

Maybe Wise SB should grow some nuts, hire a principal with some, who would in turn hire a head coach/AD with some - and tell the whiney little parents to take a hike. Nah, this is Wise Co. - won't ever happen.

The problem at Pound should be obvious to anyone. I'm about as far away from the situation as one can be in this county, but I know what the problem is up there.
