Great opening drive for DA U...
Something that really erks me is that as I sit here and watch this game, I see a guy whose last name is Paulus is wearing a Tarheels jersey. Makes me wanna throw up [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif[/img]

That got me thinking about announcers man....sometimes they just freakin drive me crazy. It would be better sometimes to mute the TV and do a play-by-play in my head. Granted, there are some pretty good anouncers, however most imo are absolutely horrible.

If the freshmen are playing this well, I can't wait for the future! One more thing that erks me also...the announcers talking about Miami having their swagger back. They are still young, although playing very well, I wish they would wait to say stuff like that until Miami breaks back into the top 10. IMO, then Da U would have their swagger back. I think it is just confidence back! It is still the first half, but goodness how I wish Miami would win by 35 or more.

Yeah...if they're going to talk about swagger, at least wait till the game is well in hand. But what can you expect from Andre Ware...paper Heisman winner. Seems to be not far as an announcer as well.

How the hell do you lose this game?
Can't blame Marve. Can't blame Kayne. Can't blame the players on offense--had a few penalties, but for the most part--they played well.
If there's someone to blame, it's Bill Young. He should have came out of the locker room from the get-go w/that defense and blitzed the crap out of Paulus/Sexton. They were crap whenever they got pressured. Our current secondary is crappy too...props to UNC's receivers because yes--they are good & talented, no doubt about it--but UM's DBs suck right now, flat out. They can't cover bump & run, they can't tackle, they fall asleep on zone D and take too many unnecessary chances (see the big TD pass to Nicks where Bruce Johnson got there in time to tackle, but instead tried to swat the ball away).
And one more person to blame--Patrick Nix--what's new. He has no idea how to call an aggressive offensive gameplan and stick with it. He spent all that time trying to milk the clock early & midway thru the 4th instead of staying aggressive and trying to make sure he puts his boot firmly down on UNC's throat.
All that said, that's probably the most heartbreaking way to lose a ballgame I've ever seen. We squandered chances, and then the kids--the young, talented ones--bring us almost all the way back to a win in spite of all of that, and the ball simply bounces the wrong way. It's a damn shame--but the good news is they can learn from it.
Noles next week--we'd better get healthy against those guys. If we lose that game next week, I hate to say it, but--5-7 could be here again with the way teams like Duke, NC State, and Wake have been playing as of late.
