Praxis I and II

While I'm staying at home with the baby I'm trying to study for my Praxis tests and since some of you have already passed them and are teaching.... any websites, books, suggestions, tips etc. you'd recommend for me. I picked up a few books from the library, but haven't had much of an opportunity to look at them yet. The tests are pretty expensive so I want to make sure I pass on the first try, so I can start applying for jobs this summer.

praxis is dumb. I hated it.

I just did the lil pamphlet they have at the college..and that was it. Passed both on the 1st try. What subject area are you in?

II can be tough according to subject area..

I passed both first try. I thought the Praxis I was easy. I thought the Praxis II was tough. I even thought I had failed. I bought an online guide for # II promising 99% pass rate. I didn't think it helped a whole lot, but I passed so I guess I kept the % up!

History.

I only had to take Praxis I and it was easy. It seemed simliar to the SAT. The only thing I did to prepare was to take some practice tests from a book. I know a lot of colleges offer Praxis prep courses/workshops.

I'm pretty sure the Praxis I I'll do fine on, but I'm more concerned about the Praxis II.

Is your Praxis II history, or all Social Studies? I have a history degree, but hade to take the entire Social Studies Praxis II.

you're correct. it's social studies.

So far he's sleeping really well and is on about the same schedule everyday. His last feeding is around 1 a.m. and then he sleeps until 7 a.m. or so. The rest of the day is followed by 3-6 ounces of formula and 4-5 hours of sleep, he's staying up more now though for a few hours during the day... so far it's working out nicely, let's just pray he stays like this.

I think I just searched a few help resources online. The one I finally chose allowed you to print off an online study guide after you paid. Like I said, it had a high pass rate guarantee, but I didn't feel as though it helped a whole lot. But considering that test covers Geography, World History, U.S. History, Psycology, Government, etc. I would definitely advise purchasing some sort of study material.

I've worked with plenty of teachers who had to take these tests numerous times before they finally passed ir. Good luck with both of yours!
