Most impressive athlete you have seen in person

Just wondering some of the athletes you may have laid eyes on in person..

Julius Peppers - Guy is a freak. Saw him chase Julius down no less than three times. I don't mean he took an angle, I mean he CHASED him down. So big, so fast. (I wish I would have gotten to see more of Steve Smith but he got ejected.)

Dwight Freeney - Not as fast as Peppers, but you can't really gauge his quickness on a TV.

Peyton Manning - He's like a machine.

TO - go watch him warm up, that's all you have to do. Looks like a steroid freak, runs like a horse. He looks like that Under Armour mannequin at Hibbet's. To quote a commentator I heard once - "He's like a really fast moose." lol

Drew Bledsoe - No lie. If this guy had ANY mobility at all, he would be great. WR's would stand on about the seven or eight yard line, and run a flag to the pylon. He was standing flat footed on the fifty and would get the ball to the pylon on a rope right as they crossed over the endzone. I never even liked him before I saw him, but man can he sling it.

My most favorite that I ever got to watch in person was none other than Dan Marino. He even rushed for a touchdown the first time I saw him play and to make it even better he ran into the endzone right where I was sitting. I also enjoyed watching Ocho Cinco play, Michael Jordan(although it was when he was with the Wizards and not his glory days as a Bull, it was the older Mike but hey, it was still Mike), Michael Vick at Tech, Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas and Tom Brady(I hate the guy bc he plays with the Pats but hes damn good, would like him alot better and own his jersey if he played for anybody else).

Seen a lot of NBA players play like Steve Nash, Dirk, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Parker etc. Met Gasol when he played for Memphis, also Eddie Jones, Bo Outlaw and some more. I did see MJ play his last 2 games at the MCI Center in DC back in 03', that pretty much sums it up for me.

yeah I forgot Vick. I saw him in his first year at Tech. Can't believe I forgot him.

Would have loved seeing Marino.

Former athletes...Tyrone Prothro, Joe Namath, and Kenny Stabler

Rye Cove had this QB in the late 90s who should have went pro.

so mine is prolly either andruw jones, terry pendleton (i know, he was old when i saw him play, but he still went yard) and thomas and juice.

Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Ralph Sampson, Dale Ellis, Cal Ripken, Ryne Sandberg, Mike Mussina, Miguel Cabrera, Darrell Green, Steve McNair, John LeClair (went to see Lindros but he was hurt of course).

Locally impressive list: Calvin Talford

Ozzie Smith, I've seen and even trained with world champion boxers, kickboxers and MMA fighters. I've seen pro football, baseball, and basketball players.

Ozzie was a different level.....

Sean Taylor

My brother went to a Skins pre-season game this year, and he said Jason Taylor was a freak.

Julius Jones is the best I've ever seen in person (while he was still at Powell Valley).

Antonio Cromartie.

I also really enjoyed watching Ernie Sims, he's not the athlete Cro is but he plays with a lot of passion and can really lay the wood.

I watched the Steelers play in Cincy in 1980. take your pick. LOL

Calvin Talford still ranks right up there with the most impressive I have seen in person and thats not saying a ton other than UT footballers and such.

Got to see Larry Bird and Benard King play. Also had the pleasure of seeing Nolan Ryan and Phil Nikero pitch. Have seen Pete Rose play. And of course Peyton Manning. And had the pleasure of seeing the Jones brothers play at Powell Valley.

And if I can throw in a few ladies - Chamique Holdsclaw, Temeka Catchings, and Diana Taurasi (although it pains me to say that).

Raymond Felton, Chris Paul, Chris Wilcox (he's a freak), Ty Lawson, Sean Singletary, Barry Larkin, A-Rod, Jeter, Griffey, Maddux, Urlacher, Bob Sanders, TJ and JJ, Peyton, Jimmy Rollins, Barry Bonds (saw him in his prime out in St. Louis most impressive batting practice display I've ever seen), Pujols, Chris Bosh, Darrell Green, Lavar Arrington (beast in his prime), and my future hall of famers (God I hope) Jay Bruce, Edison Volquez, and Cueto.

Living in N.Va, I got to see a lot of pro athletes at the Cap Centre and then the new arena in D.C plus Richmond as well. Cannot say who was the most impressive but I know who was the hottest. Gabriel Reese (sp) in a pro beach volleyball tourny I was playing in at Va. Beach. Pros and amatuers were playing and she was standing outside the hotel....... all hot, sweaty, and covered with sand.

Glenn Bragg was impressive looking. Anybody remember him for the reds?

The only Braggs highlight I can ever recall is Game 4 of the 90 series against Oakland when he broke his bat over his back. He took his normal swing and on the follow through the bat broke in two!

For me: Vick at Tech. Clemens and Bonds in baseball, though I despise both! Saw a lot of the current Yanks play in Cincy a while back. I have never been to an NBA game though I'm seriously considering getting Lakers/Bobcats tickets this seaosn. One of my biggest regrets was not forcing my dad to take me to see Magic Johnson and the Lakers in an exhibition game when I was young.

I saw Jay Bruce in triple a ball in Louisville. He's gonna be special. Hopefully that bunch can make the Reds respectable again. They are long overdue to have a good season again.

I forgot to mention Barry Bond. I watched him play in Atlanta and he was a beast. I don't like him but it was cool getting to see him hit a HR just because he holds the record
